Question about the RB in passing plays

Hey guys, I wanted to know if on passing plays, instead of having the RB go out on a route, if I can have him stay in the pocket and pass protect?

There's a lot of passing plays with several teams I play with that always have the RB going out for a screen (even though its not a screen play) or running some other kind of route. It would be great if I could have the RB stay in as an extra blocker on passing plays.

Thanks.

yes i believe you just have to hot route and flick the analog backward? Could be wrong. Could be a combination of buttons.

Click the right stick and then click the icon that corresponds to the HB, just like calling a hot route. You can do this with TEs and backs to give yourself more protection.

Just tried it. It works in the shotgun play I called but does it work on play action? I never used Hot Routes but I will now when I need an extra blocker in the backfield.

Thanks Jackal and everyone else as well.

Re: Question about the RB in passing plays

It doesn't work on PA passes, unfortunately. In those cases the HB always runs out the hook or out designed for the play. If you need the extra time on the PA pass I'd recommend keeping a TE back to block. This also sells the run better since the TE engages the defense.
