Re: 1994 season done

Okay, here's the deal...

I went through the names, went through the PBP, etc. When I was finished, I loaded up the franchise and played a couple games and suddenly, I hear the announcer say Billy Joe Tolliver has surpassed 3000 yards passing- in week 1. DAMN! The stat glitch.

So I exported all the players, made sure my 1985 roster had no repeated names and roster number, then imported the teams into that roster. I don't know if that will fix it or if the stats will come over with the import, but I think it will. I then had to go back and correct ALL the PBP names (or at least double-check them) and be sure the right guys were marked as "created" or not- quite the task. I hope I got 'em all right.

The nice thing was it gave me a regular roster to work from and release. Since I caught the messed up franchise, I started another one and had to change the divisions to reflect what was in the old one. That meant redoing the schedule, since exporting the old one made the teams play the wrong schedule (long story) and that is what I've been working on since. The schedule is like pulling teeth when you don't want to schedule the expansion teams any games- it can't be done easily in the editor.

So that brings me to today. The schedule is finished and I booted up the franchise and simmed the season a couple times. It seemed to run fine. I think I could let it go, but I want to see if I can restore the coaches before I do. I think I can get it out tomorrow night (if not, it'll be the weekend). I'll be releasing both the roster and the franchise.

What won't be in it, but should be: FAs for 1994 and correct draft names.

It's a fun roster.

Thanks for your hard work on this roster. This particular year in football was great to watch for me. I had two of my favorite players playing on the same team and winning the Superbowl together. "The Unstopable Force" Jerry Rice and "The Imoveable Object" Deion $anders. They raped the league that year.

Re: 1994 season done

Just watched the NFL Films 1994 season, and it reminded me of some other players I liked back then. Greg Lloyd, and Kevin Greene of the Steelers. I loved that team from Coach Cowher, Barry Foster, Dermontti Dawson, Hastings, Woodson, Kirkland and Lake. those damn Chargers.........they fluked a win against Miami and then Pittsburgh. the site of them waving tose yellow towels on the field I was glad that the 49ers hammered them. i would say that 49ers team was probably the best in the 90s, but I believe either Miami or especially Pittsburgh would of given them a more competitve game in the SuperBowl.

Thanks for going over that dolphin. I was on a little bit of a hiatus as I was very busy with school work. Thanks to everyone for the kind words. Enjoy. Maybe Dave Brown will lead the Giants to a SUper Bowl 29 victory lol.

BSemps- you'll still get credit for your roster on my site. I did put enough back into it to give myself a little credit as well though. I really didn't touch your ratings or player appearances, so the bulk of the work is still yours.

I should have them on my site tonight. I plan to play out this year myself when finished. I'll put the Ace/Run and Shoot formation up on the site as well.
