I just want to confirm this. Basically I've been signing all my guys to ascending contracts with no bonuses. This means all my signings have a $0 penalty. This means I can release them at any time at no cost to my football organization, correct? There will be no lingering financial effects both now and in the future, right?

Edit: Sorry, I meant to post this the NFL 2k5 forum.

Okay and one more question (again, NFL 2k5, but football in general). If a team has cap space, but chooses not to use it, does it get transferred over to next season, or does the team lose out on what they didn't spend?

Whats happened is I've signed so many guys to ascending contracts, that my cap space for the current season is ironically higher than next season.

No, salary cap space is for that season. Banking cap would ruin what it's intended to do, which is keep a somewhat level playing field. There's also a salary floor, not just a cap, but it's probably impossible to hit unless you're building a 50 OVR team.
