Well, I've spent a whole day trying to figure this one out, but with no luck. And I see there are no suggestions or comments here either. That's what I love about this place and why I avoid posting. If Madden has young guys starting in their depth chart instead of veterans, then it's time to raise the roof. But if ESPN has kickers returning kickoffs with no way to edit the other team's chart in franchise, or special teams at all from what I've tried, then it's "no comment".
And before anyone even tries the Maddenite label, let me assure you that I've bought and owned every football game from the days of Atari and Intellivision on consoles and Dan Bunten's "Computer Football" on an Apple IIe back when SSI did sports and before EA was founded. I beta tested for Front Page Sports and Papyrus Racing back in the day. Bottom line is that each game has it's strengths and weaknesses. That's why they do reviews and why we have variety. To each his own. Diversity is the spice of life. But it would be nice if people could get beyond that and work towards improving the genre as a whole, regardless of the title on the box.
Not that it's a big deal in the grand scheme of things or that it ruins the game in any way for me, but it is a stupid little annoyance.
My search for a solution shall continue. Well, maybe later today, after some hockey....
