Why would you want to start out slower and THEN break away?

I mean, I start by charging up usually anyways, but why wouldn't you start out with the turbo?

Because you have to wait for your blockers, and you need time to see the hole. If you run as fast as you can, you can't see hole - watch an NFL game - you'll notice the top runners coming up to the line with patience, picking a hole, then charging through it.

yup like the one and only PRiest Holmes

I guess it's OK to "charge up"(hold A) as opposed to "speeding up"(tap A),since it wouldn't change your speed-or would it? Does charging up slow you down a little?

Re: It\'s much easier to run when....

Maybe I'm not as good as you guys yet, but I have the hardest time running (and that's against any defense). Passing is no problem. Thanks for the post for suggesting to not hit speed burst right away, I'll give that a try. I switched to alternate control so I can stiff arm with the triggers and juke with the right d pad. Using the white and black buttons below the A button is a pain for me (maybe I'm getting to old for the cordination lol) I read charging and stiff arming for power running backs works well and spins for finesse running backs works well. Is this true? I see people stiff arm / charge/ spin and break like 5-7 tackles. I can stiff arm people pretty good with the right and left triggers, but when it comes to juking, I seem to spin right into the defense arms. Any suggestions on when to use the different moves? Do you guys use the special moves more than the charge/stiff arm/juke?

Thanks for your time,

Mike

I use the shoulder charge more than anything, and the stiff arms too. I don't use the spin too much.
