Franchise re-signing - bug/cheat?

Just sharing this as a head-ups, it wont affect you unless you are re-signing players during the season.

Heres an example of the bug.

If a player rated 90 is injured and has his rating drop to 55. Any attempts to resign him while still injured with a lower rating will mean he will be willing accept a much lower salary..

Example: an injured clinton portis(90) was willing to accept a 7 year contract at 550k per year.


Oh well, if you ignore this, it wont affect you.

Thanks for the heads up but I don't think it's a bug but it's sure a cheat. Now I just need to wait for all my star players to get hurt.

You should not be allowed to resign injured players during the season. I am surprised that the game even allows this.

And to edit the findings a little bit.

I think in the case of the injured player they will ask for their existing pay rate when negotiating.

For example clinton portis is on a 550/year contract and that was the rate he would agree to extend the contract on. If the bug/cheat didnt exist, he would probably be asking for 4 - 6 million a year even when injured.

So I guess if you have a guy making 4 million a year, if you attempt to re-sign him while injured, he will still ask for 4 mill a year. But he wont ask for more to make up for his value.

Anyways, thats what I think.

I guess somewhere in the code there are conditions that even though a player should ask for pay equalling his value, he should never agree to a contract that pays him less than what he currently makes. And thats why in the case of the overpaid players, you cant really re-negotiate for them to take less.


Sorry if this tempts anyone to extend player contracts when injured.

I sim a season in franchise and in week 6 Tim Dwight had a broken hip injury and was listed as OUT (rating went down to 29) and he still wanted 3 million for three years.

I don't have an injured player to check this for myself, but, I wonder if it's a mistake in the code where the code works if they are "Out" but they may have missed one of the other injured categories.
