Played First X-Box Live ESPN football game

Well I played my first online game. There was almost no lag time. I was the Jets and my opponent was the Raiders. Pro setting, 5 minute quarters, everything else default.

Jets:
Total yards: 426
Rush: 148
Pass: 278 54% completion 3 TDs 3 Int

Raiders:
Total Yards: 201
Pass: 17
Rush: 184

I lost 34 to 28. Jets had 4 turnovers that the Raiders converted into 24 points.

Did you curse the guy out. It seems lately some people online do something that deserves an A_ _ Whooping.

Yeah, I've read some of the negative posts about the online experience. Actually, these stories made me pretty apprehensive about going online. But, we actually had a good straight game. He was killing me with the sweeps with Garner. Curtis Martin broke at least a 50 yard TD run. I also hit Conway on a streak play for a 76 yard TD. The Raiders were in single man bump and run coverage with eight in the box. I enjoy playing a straight game win or lose.

there is no defense to effectively stop the sweep every time. those outside runs are the most abused glitch in the game. i'm sure you've read LBz many rants on how the LBs play them wrong.

If you can get a blitz from the out side and they don't dive to get the toss when there 5 yards away you can probably get them to go 4 and out.

Not true. I stop sweeps all day long....stop blitzing all of your LB's on every play...once you do this you are very vulnerable to the sweep.

I find sweeps easy to stop. like CC said, dont blitz ya linebackers. Maybe up the middle once and awhile when you spread ya line. Also, if you are playing a team or a person that revolves around the run, either doubleteam the back or asign your best LB to him. It doesnt work with a zone though(thank god). But always stretch ya line for containment to defend a sweep....just protect the middle from iso's or draws

What do you mean by doubleteam the back? How do you double team the back? how do you doubleteam receivers? When I play the computer I assign a doubleteam on a receiver but it never seems to occur.
