I couldn't disagree more. EA shoving their brand of music in my face has actually turned my off of many of their games. I would prefer that Sega stick to football, and let the other companies make an MTV game. If you have an Xbox, just rip the songs yourself. If you have a PS2, turn down the volume on your tv, put your Outkast CD into your radio, pump up the volume and be happy.
I really hope that Sega doesn't waste time and money on music, but if they insist, I would prefer they make a more robust way for ripped tunes as others have mentioned. So you would have certain songs play over the PA after a touchdwon....maybe even be able to assign team specific songs. But this is minor, and I would only recommend it, if it is easy to develop.
