Simulated Quarter Length?

I play 8 min. quarters and was wondering if I need to set the simulated quarter length to 8 minutes or 15 minutes to get realistic/comparable stats? Any help is appreciated! Thanks...

5 or 6 minutes for simulated games. 5 minutes gives accurate QB stats but low RB and WR stats. 6 Minutes gives High QB stats but accurate RB and WR stats. So what I do is simulate half the season on 5 minutes the other half on 6 minutes. then everything is perfect. good luck.

7 is perfect for me. Some QB's get 200 - 300 passing yds some runnig back range from 50 - 140+ rushing with 20+ carries depending on the game ending result. This also has to do how you setup your sliders for CPU.

Re: Simulated Quarter Length?

I play 7 minute quarters and sim 6. So far I'm happy with the results. There are a couple of QB's that will have 300+ yard games. During 1 week, Trent Green, Favre, and Gannon all had 300 yard games but average across the league was around 200. There were several WR with 8 catches but none had unusually high yardage numbers. So far, it looks like these are numbers I can match up with and be competitive with league leaders. In my Saints franchise, my numer 1 priority is to get Deuce his 100 yards, but if I'm getting stuffed I can try and open it up with Horn and Stallworth. As long as I'm getting around 350 yards per game I'll be happy.

The thing I really like about this game is that you have to work for your running yards. I've had several games where I'm averaging like 2 yards a carry (40 yards on 20 carries) and if you keep pounding the ball, you can break one late to get that average more respectable. It's frustrating at times but a lot more realistic than having 100+yards on 10 carries thanks to the super running backs in 2k4.
