help me with controls

i need some help with the controls of this game. how exactly do you use maximum tackling and the right stick manuevers. i can't seem to use these features. i may be an idiot for not being able to figure these out but i can learn to deal with being an idiot. someone help me out please.

Practice Iverson...pracitce. Seriously that is what you have to do. There are also some good "training" vids in the game under the "Extras" option on the main menu.(If you have the Xbox version. If not, you can watch the vids over at espnvideogames.com). Also over there, is an "enhanced online manual" for downloading. It is in .pdf format, so you will need Adobe Acrobat reader to view it. These two things plus hitting the practice field will help you out.

yeah i have the same problem, like i can't hit the spin move, shoulder charge or right analog stick buttions when i hold my controller my normal way

Maximum Tackling
Hold down X button to make a wrap tackle. There's less risk of a risk of missing the tackle, but the ball carrier could drag you for a few extra yards after contact and fall forward.

Tap X button or press (click) on the right thumbstick to hit tackle. There's a bigger risk of missing the tackle, but if successful you can land a punishing hit that stops the ball carrier dead in his tracks. You can also force a fumble you put the helmet on the ball while making a charged hit tackle.


R thumbstick moves
Up -> Stutter step
Up, then Left/Right -> Jab step
Up, then roll Left/Right -> Jab step-Spin
Down -> Stop
Down, then Up -> Stop 'N Go
Down, then Roll Left/Right -> Stop-Spin
Down, then Left/Right -> Stop Jab
Left then Right, or Right then Left -> Double Juke
Right then Right, or Left then Left -> Jab Juke
Left/Right, then Roll Down, then Roll Left/Right -> Juke and Spin {same side}
Left/Right, then Roll to Opposite Side -> Juke & Spin {from one side to the other}
Left/Right, then Down -> Jab step-Stop

Has anyone actually been able to pull off a bone crushing hit. I remember seeing one in a video but i cant seem to do it.
