What does fixing a bug in a game have to do with continuing service? I don't get it, because it's a console game I should live with it? If they can fix bugs in a console game, all companies should do this. The clipping bug is not an opinionated bug. It's cut and dry, while the trade AI is matter of preference.
I don't think any do anymore, but years ago you could get them via magazines. I know that costs money, but you could still get the patches. I'm not asking for a disk, just make the same file available online.
Free until your 2 months run out, then if you don't cancel, you're charged $50 a year. They take advantage of the UN-authorized card device to pimp rosters, maybe not directly, but their sales go up from games like NCAA with these adapters available and they know this. I'll say this again, I can afford LIVE, but what's the harm of making the file available online? The roster file for Madden was available for download, why not the ESPN update?
I'm not even at the point of calling it 'criminal', in fact it's rather funny defending my stance on the matter. I'm all for the AR download, that's it - I never said we should get golden CD's shipped to our house.
Making it available via .zip file has nothing to do with finances. Microsoft makes CD's (albeit a shipping charge) available with SP's on them to fix their OS's... but again that's not what I'm wanting. I would like the clipping stat bug fixed, but I can turn it off.
It would just be nice if, like rosters, I could download the file to my AR and use it that way. If Microsoft had an AR type peripheral, my issue would be moot.
I'll have Live next month and all I want right now is the clipping bug fixed.
