Coach's Sliders/Ratings

It looks like theres alot of mystery surrounding these ratings. What they effect, to what degree do they effect something, even if they effect anything at all. These are just my semi-educated guess'. Please chime in.

Overall - ?

Off Overall
Rush For
Pass For
Def Overall
Pass Rush
Pass Coverage - I have to assume that these do offer a in-game boost to players abilities, I can see no other reason for these.

QB
TE
WR
O-Lineman
D-Lineman
LB
DB - Player ability boost? progression? both?

Special Teams - this probably belongs in the top group, again really no other reason for this then a in-game boost.

I see the following group effecting a 'group' of ratings (ex: Conditioning effects Stamina, Injury occurence. Leadership - leadership, composure)
(I dont have a list of player abilities with me at work so if you agree & feel somethings missing please add it)

Professionalism - penalties
Prep - +/- for weekly prep results
Motivation - aggression
Discipline - Route running, Coverage, catching
Conditioning - injury, stamina
Leadership - composure, leadership

Respect - related to contract signings


Id also like to hear everybodies input on what these ratings would be for current and historics Coaches.
Im pretty sure Jim Zorn doesnt rate a 98 on Leadership.

i thought these had to do w/ sim stats & progression for franchise, not in-game boosts...

e.g. high SpTms rating= better PR/KR avg, tds etc seen in season stats when you sim in franchise mode

I can see one or the other group; Overall Off, Pass For, etc. or the positionals; QB, WR, DB, etc. being used for this, but not both.

look at QBs; you'd have; individual player ratings (1), the coach QB rating(2), the Pass For rating (3), and the Overall Off rating (4)
thats qaudruple redundancy to get season stats. not to mention if any of the 'Professionalism', 'respect' type ratings factor in too.

I believe at least one of these groups has to effect actual in-game play.

Hopefully we can get a few people (maybe even my lazy a-- ) to test this out, as it shouldnt be to hard to figure out what, at least, effects sim'ed franchise season stats.

Well... sadly I have to report that Pujas right;
The coaching sliders from what Ive been able to test do nothing.

Using 10 teams I did variations of Maxed and zero'd out sliders for the coaches. As well as eqaulized rosters for all teams.
And I can say without a doubt that they do not effect progression in any manner. After 2 seasons theres was litttle to no difference between Zero'd, Max'd, and regular coaches.
Nor was there any evidence that they effected season stats.
And as far as in-game gameplay; playing a Max'd team vs. a Zero'd team (again with eqaulized rosters) and switching back and forth, again the was no discernible difference between the 2 teams.

thanks for doing all that testing... sounds like you ran a good experiment. And now we all know more or less for certain. Good contribution to the community nonetheless even though it wasnt the desired outcome

I was disappointed with the outcome, hopeing for another layer of depth to the game but, alas... nothing...
