Re: Robinson No More - Titans 23 Franchise

Titans Trade Down, Go Offensive Heavy

The Titans traded down two spots to pick up a fourth round pick (104 overall) in this season and a fourth round pick next year with the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons traded up for Clemson defensive tackle Bryan Bresee, whom the Titans nearly agreed to draft. Instead the Titans added extra draft capital.

Round 1 | Pick 10 | Quentin Johnston | WR |TCU
The 6'4 - 212 lb. TCU product immediately shows the Titans are looking to improve the offense. For the second season in a row, they take a WR in the first round. This time, there is high hopes for arguably the best receiver in the class. Johnston has incredible speed (91) for his size.

Round 2 | Pick 8 | Cody Mauch | OG | North Dakota State
The Titans looked to shore up the OL in free agency and then in the draft. Mauch is a huge 6'6" guard weighing in at 303 lbs. But he's quick (71 Speed, 79 Acceleration, 70 Agility) for his size. Titans expect him to start on the interior line.

Round 2 | Pick 25 | Hendon Hooker | QB | Tennessee
I don't think anyone expected the Titans to be done with the quarterback position after the Mayfield signing. Reports were that the Titans wanted to trade up for a quarterback. But when Stroud shockingly went to Arizona (3rd) and then Levis to Las Vegas (7th) their hands were tied. Hooker is a local guy with great size (6'4 - 218 lbs.) and the mobility (83 speed) to make things interesting.

Round 3 | Pick 8 | Blake Corum | HB | Michigan
Do the Titans know something we don't? All-Pro Derrick Henry is coming into a contract year (at 29 years old), but the Titans couldn't be moving on from him, could they? Corum is a fantastic talent and could help Henry with some carries. Or he could be the heir to the All-Pro. Time will tell.

Round 3 | Pick 18 | Matthew Bergeron | OT | Syracuse
Once again the Titans look to help their offensive line. Bergeron provides great depth and could take over for Lewan who is on an expiring deal.

Round 4 | Pick 8 | Nick Herbig | OLB | Wisconsin
Round 4 | Pick 18 | Malachi Moore | CB | Alabama
Round 5 | Pick 8 | Rakim Jarrett | WR | Maryland
Round 6 | Pick 10 | Jaylon Jones | CB | Texas A&M
Round 7 | Pick 8 | Jayden Reed | WR | Michigan State

Re: Robinson No More - Titans 23 Franchise

2023 Titans Roster

Quarterback
#17 Baker Mayfield, #5 Hendon Hooker (R)
Analysis | Malik Willis would have been the third quarterback on the roster, but a trade to Green Bay (in exchange for a fourth round pick) as the preseason closed left us with Mayfield and Hooker. Head coach Mike Vrabel has not announced his starter, but sources close to the team expect the rookie to get the nod.

Halfback
#22 Derrick Henry, #32 Blake Corum (R), #25 Hassan Haskins, #36 LaMichael McCall
Analysis | All-Pro Derrick Henry is the obvious starter, but the rookie Corum has shown bright spots and could take some touches away. Haskins and McCall provide good depth.

Wide Receiver
#2 Robert Woods, #19 DJ Chark Jr, #1 Quentin Johnston (R), #16 Treylon Burks, #18 Kyle Philips, #8 Rakim Jarrett (R), #89 Jayden Reed (R)
Analysis | Woods is expected to be traded before the season starts. Rookies Johnston and Jarrett have shown flashes, while newcomer Chark looks to be a number one receiver. Don't sleep on Jayden Reed either. He's expected to take over return man duties and could find himself in the lineup at any moment.

Tight End
#85 Chigoziem Okonkwo, #80 Donald Parham Jr, #86 Hunter Bryant
Analysis | Okonkwo is the number one guy after Austin Hooper's departure in the off-season. Reports were the Titans were interested in Notre Dame tight end Michael Mayer, hoping he might slip into the second round, but he went 16th overall to Washington.

Offensive Line
#77 Taylor Lewan, #57 Cody Mauch (R), #62 Jason Kelce, #64 Nate Davis, #69 Terence Steele, #63 Matthew Bergeron (R), #55 Aaron Brewer, #60 Ben Jones, #75 Dillon Radunz, #78 Nicholas Petit-Frere
Analysis | Three new starters on the line for this season. Rookie Cody Mauch gets the start at left guard while rookie Matthew Bergeron could slide into a start spot on the outside of the line should Lewan or Steele struggle. Vrabel has said this offensive line "probably has the most depth I've ever had." Time will tell.

Defensive Line
#96 Denico Autry, #98 Jeffery Simmons, #72 Linval Joseph, #92 Ray Treggs (R), #93 Stan Thompson (R), #79 Curtis Brooks
Analysis | Joseph was signed on as one-year stop gap while Jeffery Simmons enters a contract year with something to prove. Veteran Denico Autry compliments the line.

Outside Linebacker
#44 Sione Takitaki, #58 Harold Landry III, #50 Nick Herbig (R), #99 Rashad Weaver
Analysis | Landry didn't even get a chance last year after tearing his ACL. He looks to make an impact this season. The Titans hope Takitaki can step up and help the front seven. Rashad Weaver continues to show signs of brilliance while rookie Herbig looks quite talented as well.

Middle Linebacker
#41 Zach Cunningham, #56 Monty Rice, #51 Troy Dye, #45 Chance Campbell
Analysis | Probably the weakest position on the roster. The Titans pushed for Roquan Smith, but lost out to the Denver Broncos. They'll run with Cunningham and Rice as starters.

Cornerback
#26 Kristian Fulton, #3 Caleb Farley, #21 Roger McCreary, #24 Elijah Molden, #46 Malachi Moore (R), #23 Jaylon Jones (R)
Analysis | Youth and talent. That's the mantra for the cornerbacks. No one over the age of 24. Fulton is in a contract year and Farley needs to prove he can stay healthy. McCreary showed great signs in his rookie campaign, can he keep it going? Keep your eyes on rookie Malachi Moore as the season progresses, the 6'0 CB from Alabama is quite talented for just a 20-year old.

Safety
#31 Kevin Byard, #37 Amani Hooker, #49 Shyheim Carter, #38 Nazeeh Johnson (R)
Analysis | The heart of the defense, Kevin Byard, is back again. Amani Hooker looks to prove he's worth his contract.

Special Teams
#14 Randy Bullock, #4 Ryan Stonehouse
Analysis | No change here. Titans get their record setting punter back and their consistent kicker Randy Bullock returns.

Dude, I love that draft. Especially Johnston (he's going to be such a stud) and Hooker. I like your layouts and setup too, nice start.

Thanks! I knew I needed an influx of young talent on offense. As much as I love Henry, I'm not completely sold that he's on the team after this season, especially if I struggle. Corum looks fantastic, despite being just 5'8, he's over 200 lbs. and has 94 speed. I also think all 3 rookie wide receivers could have an impact.

Still might be a long season, but there's reasons to be hopeful.

Re: Robinson No More - Titans 23 Franchise

Titans Add LB Devin Bush in Trade With Steelers

With the regular season just days away the Titans announced a trade to bolster their defense. The Titans agreed to a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers to send veteran wide receiver Robert Woods in exchange for linebacker Devin Bush. Woods, 31, immediately steps into the slot position behind Diontae Johnson and rookie standout from last year, George Pickens. Bush, 25, had fallen to third on the depth chart following the signing of Leighton Vander Esch this past off-season. Tennessee needed help in the linebacker core and Woods was a viable option following the Titans off-season wide receiver acquisitions.
