The Making of a Legend. The Career of Coach Scott CF25

I am back... With the return of college football to the current system (XBOX X), I am making my return to the forums.. I started posting threads back in 2007 starting with College Basketball (2k), them moved onto College Football, Madden, some MLB the Show and even some NBA action. But it's time to come back and share my love of College Football. I started playing back in 2002 on PS2, trading memory cards back and forth with friends as we played dynasty's over the years. As the year's progressed, we started editing every roster to add in real life names at every school even before I knew about the OS community.

My plan is to start the career of Coach Scott as a OC and at some point in his career take him to a school where he can build his resume to the point of becoming a coach legend in his own right.

I plan on only playing Offense as the OC, but once I take on a head coaching job I will then start playing both sides of the ball.

    System XBOX One X
Settings- Default Heisman with 8 min Quarters, until sliders are released from the OS community.

Recruiting Restritctions- It's a new game, so I am unsure what type of inhouse restrictions I will have. I don't want to win every game and I don't want a roster full of 5* Recruits in my first couple seasons. I want to build a program up and make it a challenge.

For now my rules are as follows- I can recruit 5* only if they are in my pipeline states and only if I am in their Top-10 at the beginning of the year. In the off-season I can add a 5* Recruit only if there is a player at a need spot to fill in my roster that doesn't have a scholarship offer or if a current start leaves early for the NFL or joins the transfer portal.

4*-I can recruit any 4* that has me in their Top-10 regardless of Pipeline States. I must stay in their Top-5, if I fall out of the Top-5 I must remove the player even if I am not locked out.

3*-I can recruiting any 3* regardless of location, but any 3* that has me in their Top-3 to start the season and is in my pipeline states, must be given a scholarship if they are a need position.

*Scholarships- Because of the transfer portal, I will allow myself to recruit up to the # of Seniors leaving plus 5 during the in-season recruiting stages. Any players leaving early for the NFL or any player who transfers then those scholarships will be available in the off-season.

Transfer Portal suggestions- I will allow myself 5 transfer portal suggestions each year, this will allow my to cut down my roster of players who are either busts or just don't fit my play style.

Other rules and settings will be adjusted over the course of the Dynasty.

      BOISE STATE HIRES NEW OC!!

With the sudden departure of OC Bush Hamdan to Kentucky, Boise Head Coach Spencer Danielson was left looking for a new OC just weeks before Spring ball was about to start. His first phone call was to former Boise State HC and OC Dirk Koetter who filled in during the 2022 season, but Koetter decided this time he really was retired..

Coach D knew he wanted to stay in the BSU family tree and bring back the glory years.. Former players Matt Miller and Nate Potter interviewed as well, but in the end Coach D went with the man he believes is ready to help guide the Broncos to a playoff spot and rebuild the program back into the powerhouse they had become..

BSU Fans and OS Forum followers welcome.. Coach Ryne Scott. Your new BSU OC for the 2024 season.

Re: The Making of a Legend. The Career of Coach Scott CF25

        QB

Former starter Taylen Green announced his transfer to Arkansas after last years MWC Championship. Former Recruit CJ Tiller made his first start in the LA Bowl but has since left for Utah State. Opening the Door for a new starter in 2024.

Former 5* Recruit and USC Transfer RS FR Malachi Nelson (82 OVR) appears to be the front runner to try and follow in the footsteps of former Bronco legends. Will he be the next Kellen Moore or will the shoes just be to big to fill?

RS SO Maddux Madsen (77 OVR) looked good in his brief action throwing for over 1000 yds and 9 TD's before being lost to a season ending injury. Still not 100%, it looks like Nelson will start the year with Madsen waiting in the wings.

RS JR Colt Fulton (70 OVR). The former walkon almost was the starter in the LA Bowl game, now it appears his future could be a 3rd string QB unless he hits the portal.

        (R) FR Kaleb Annett (67 OVR). The 3* Recruit out of Del Mar High School threw for over 4000 yds and 46 TD's in his career, including 2700 yds and 30 TD"s as a senior. He will redshirt this season but with the transfer portal in play many expect he potentially be the #2 QB next year and a future starter depending on what happens with Nelson and Madsen.

        RUNNING BACK

JR Aston Jeanty (91 OVR) rushed 220 times last season for 1347 yds and 14 TD's despite sharing the backfield with SR George Holani (134 carries 748 yds 7 TD's). Jeanty was also a force in the receiving department hauling in 43 receptions for 569 yds and a team high 5 TD's.

Coach Scott "Jeanty is a beast and is following in the footsteps of past Bronco RB legends who went on to have careers in the NFL. It's our plan to utilize Aston to the full extent this season in hopes of helping him become a Heisman Hopefull"

SO Jambres Dubar (80 OVR) recorded 62 carries for 335 yds and 2 TD's as a Freshman last season. He will also see action in the backfield with Jeanty at times as the FB

JR Kaden Dudley (75) saw limited action last year with 8 carries and could potentially redshirt allowing him to compete with Dunbar for more carries in 2025 should Jeanty leave.

FR Sire Gaines (67) former 3* who had scholarships from ASU, Arizona, Washington, Washington State, Oregon State and San Diego State out of high school. Could very well be the next BSU legend at RB.

        WIDE RECIEVER

Former #1 WR Eric McAllister (47 rec 837 yds 5 TD's) has transfered to TCU, opening the door for a new #1 to emerge..

6'5 SO Price Strachan (78 Ovr) recorded 12 rec for 274 yds and 2 TD's last year.

6'3 SR Austin Bolt (78 Ovr) had 8 catches for 175 yds, showing big play potential (29.2 yds per catch) with 2 TD's.

6'0 SR Latrell Caples (78 Ovr) missed all of the 2023 season but led the Broncos in receiving in 2022 with 51 rec 534 yds and 4 TD's.

6'3 SR Cam Camper (78 Ovr) transfered in from Indiana where he has shown past success 63 rec 854 yds and 3 TD's but he has battled injuries the past 2 years.

6'0 RS JR Chase Penry (71 Ovr) recorded 5 rec for 48 yds last season. He will see action on Special teams and could be next year's #2 with the current depth chart having 3 Seniors ahead of him.

**Not sure why former 5* Recruit and Texas A&M transfer Chris Marshall is not on the roster. Maybe he didn't agree to be in the game, but oh well**

        TIGHT END

RS JR Matt Lauter (83 Ovr)- Lauter showed big play potential last year with 9 rec for 157 yds (17.4 avg) with 3 TD's. Look for him to see some action also as the team's #5 WR this year.

RS SO Austin Terry (72 Ovr)-

        OFFENSIVE LINE

LT- RS SO Kage Casey (83 Ovr)
LG- RS SR Ben Dooley (80 Ovr)
C- RS JR Mason Randolph (78 Ovr)
RG- RS SO Roger Carreon (75 Ovr)
RT- RS JR Daylon Metoyer (75 Ovr)

Reserves RS FR K. Cox-67 Ovr, RS FR Jason Steele-68 Ovr, RS SO Jake Steele 74 Ovr, RS SO Hall Schmitt-69 Ovr,

**I might add in the Defense Team Preview later, but at this point because I am not playing Defense, I thought I would focus on the Offense**

        Coach Scott
I am excited to be back at Boise State and for the opportunity Coach D is giving me. The past 3 years have been tough on my heart as a fan and as a coach who knows this team is capable of so much more. We have a great group of guy's and I beleve this team can get back to being one of the highest scoring units in college football and we are going to have fun doing it. I plan on running my own custom playbook but it will have some BSU staples with lots of motion before the snap, some trick plays here and there and it's my goal to see some records fall well I am here at Boise State.

          BSU 2024 TEAM SCHEDULE

**My plan is to keep the schedule as close to real life as possible., I did replace my Week 4 matchup with Portland State with TCU. TCU and BSU have a pretty big history with each other over the years battling it out with BSU beating TCU in the Fiesta Bowl in 2009 and TCU beating BSU on the Blue Turf in 2011.

With last year's #1 WR Eric McAlister leaving for TCU (he is #2 on their depth chart as a 86 Ovr) , I figured they were a good team to put in the mix. Also former BSU HC and DC Andy Avalos is the Horn Frogs new DC

          Week 1-@ Georgia Southern
          Week 2-@ #4 Oregon
          Week 3-Open
          Week 4-vs TCU
          Week 5-vs Washington State
          Week 6-vs Utah State
          Week 7-@ Hawaii
          Week 8-Open
          Week 9-@ UNLV
          Week 10-vs San Diego State
          Week 11-vs Nevada
Week 12 @ San Jose State
          Week 13 @ Wyoming
          Week 14 vs Oregon State.

The goal given to my OC when he signed the contract was 7 wins. I feel like this is very possible. BSU is a 81 Overall, 81 Offense and 82 Defense.

Fresno State is a 81/81/81 and I expect that is who we will most likely see in the MWC should both teams play to their potential.

The Oregon game I expect to be a loss. On the road against a Top-5 opponent, and I expect I will most likely split with the WSU/OSU games and most likely get upset by 1 MWC team but that still leaves me in the hunt for a 10 win season and depending on the quality of wins, especially if I can beat TCU and hopefully OSU in Week 14 at home that could set me up for a chance at a playoff spot even with 2 or 3 loss's depending on how the rest of the nation does. With all the changes with the Big 12, Big Ten , ACC, and SEC getting so much harder, I will be shocked to see teams go undefeated or even have just 1 loss.

With the mass exodus of teams from the Pac-12 leaving just Oregon State and Washington left, what happens to the once Power-5 Conference.

Reports are the Pac-12 is in talks with hopes of securing at least 8 more teams to join OSU and WSU next year in 2025 to keep the conference alive.

MWC teams like Boise State, San Diego State, Colorado State and Fresno State are top choices to join OSU and WSU in a West Coast Division.

Reports are the Pac-12 will look at teams from the American Conference and CUSA who finish among the top as well as teams finishing in the bottom of the new Big 12/16, Big Ten/18, ACC/17 as targets as well. Texas schools TCU, Houston, SMU and Rice are at the top of their wish list as they look to build a Texas Division opening up the recruiting pipelines to the great state of Texas.

I do expect to move BSU to the Pac-12, however I am not sure how quickly I plan on doing it. It all depends on how teams perform in Year 1. Ideally I would love to see them back to 12 teams but I also don't want to destory the MWC.

              BRONCOS WIN SEASON OPENER!!!

              GAME RECAP

It was a slow start to the Coach D/Coach Scott Era of Boise State Football as BSU trailed Georgia Southern 3-0 at the end of the 1st Quarter.

BSU's Malachi Nelson got off to a rocky start throwing a INT in his opening series.

The Broncos however would rally to take the lead with 1:12 to play in the 1st half (13-10) but the Eagles would manage to tie the game (13-13) as the teams head to the locker room.

Nelson would settle down in the 2nd half throwing 3 TD's including a pair to SO Prince Strachan as BSU takes a commanding (34-13) lead heading into the 4th Quarter.

              Coach Scott "
The 1st half was rough for myself and Malachi but we found our footing and came up with a game plan for the 2nd half and we executed to perfection."
Boise State would go to the ground game in the 4th with Aston Jeanty picking up his 2nd TD on the day. Jeanty would finish the day 1 yd shy of 200 yds as he carries the ball 25 times for 199 yds (8.0 avg) including a long of 37. Jeanty also added 2 rec for 71 yds (lead the team)

Backup RB Jambres Dunbar added 7 carries for 20 yds and a late TD in the 4th.

Backup QB Maddux Madsen played the final series and completed 1/3 attempts for 25 yds.

              FINAL SCORE BSU-48 GSU-23

              KEY STATS

Nelson finished 19/33 (57%) for 286 yds with 3 TD and 1 INT
Jeanty was POY with his 199 yds 2 TD and 2 rec 71 yds
              P. Sanchan led the WR core with 5 rec 67 yds 2 TD
              A. Bolt had 4 rec for 57 yds
              L. Caples had 5 rec 54 yds 1 TD
              M. Lauter had 3 rec 48 yds (16.0 avg)

                A EARLY LOOK AT RECRUITING

Coach D and Coach Scott enter the 2024 Recruiting Season with 20 graduating Seniors (5 on Offense, 15 on Defense).

Of the 5 spots on Offense, 3 of those are in the WR room, where 3 of the Top-4 WR's will be gone at the end of the season making it a huge target of interest. The other 2 graduating Seniors are on the Offensive Line,

                Coach Scott
"We will look to probably target 7-10 guy's early with the hopes of offering at least 4-5 scholarships. We have some young guy's (FR) on the roster like T. Liggins (64 Ovr), Cameron Bates (62 Ovr) and D. Yeats-Jackson (59 Ovr) but obviously our goal is to find guy's this year who won't need to redshirt and could potentially see the field as our #2/#3/#4 WR's next season"
On Defense, Coach Danielson has 7 Seniors on the D-Line (4 DE's and 3 DT) as well as 8 players from the Secondary (3 CB's, 2 FS's and 2 SS's)

The Broncos will also need to replace SR J Dalmas (85 Ovr) as the teams Field Goal Kicker but they do have SO J Resser (63 Ovr) already on the roster.

Re: The Making of a Legend. The Career of Coach Scott CF25

                  RIVALAY HISTORY

The Broncos and Ducks have faced each other 3 times first in Eugene back in 2007 where Boise State came away victors 37-34. Then the following year the Ducks came to the Blue and lost 19-8. Then the two teams met again in 2017 in the Las Vegas Bowl with BSU once again coming away winners 38-28.

Can the Broncos make it 4-0?

                  OPPONENT PREVIEW

Oregon finished 2023 with 11-2 record with both loss's coming at the hands of the Washington Huskies, but did become Fiesta Bowl Champs with a win over previous undefeated Liberty.

The Ducks however have a new QB at the helm with former UCF/Oklahoma QB Dillion Gabriel (92 Ovr) coming to Eugene via Phil Knight NIL money for his final season.

Gabriel is a dual threat QB who has almost 15,000 career passing yards with 125 TD's and 26 INT along with over 1000 yds rushing and 25 TD's including 12 last season for the sooners.

Gabriel has a trio of talented WR's led by SR Tez Johnson (91 Ovr), JR E. Stewart (90 Ovr) and SR T. Holden (85 Ovr).

The Ducks also have a talented RB in JR Jordan James (90 Ovr) and a extremely talented Defense that is considered to be one of the Top-10 in the nation, after allowing just 11.8 PPG last season including just 6 points to Liberty in the Fiesta Bow.

                  GAME RECAP

It was another slow start for the Broncos as neither team found the endzone in the 1st Quarter with BSU taking a 3-0 lead after 1 Quarter of play via a J. Delmas FG.

Oregon would get on the scoreboard early in the 2nd Quarter as Gaberial throws his first TD as a Duck to give the home team the 7-3 lead. BSU and Malachi Nelson would answer back though as Nelson finds Prince Strachan on a 22 yd strike to make it 10-7. The Ducks would answer back with a FG of their own to tie the game (10-10) with 4 minutes to play.

Boise State would drive the ball down to the 30 yd line before the drive stalled and a missed FG gave the Ducks the ball with just under 2 minutes to play in the half.

Gabriel not wanting to just run out the clock goes to the air trying to get the Ducks back on the scoreboard and give his team the lead before the half. Instead SR CB A'Marion McCoy takes the INT and turns it into a Pick 6 giving BSU the 17-10 lead at the half.

Oregon opened up the 2nd half with the ball and quickly tied the game on Gabriel's 2nd TD of the game.

BSU would answer back as backup RB Jambres Dunbar punches in a score from 4 yds out to make it (24-17).

The BSU Defense was stuffing the run all day as Oregon managed just 34 yds on the ground, but Gabriel showed why he is one of the best QB's in the nation throwing his 3rd TD of the day as Treshon Holden takes it to the house to tie the game yet again (24-24) as we head to the 4th.

The Autzen Stadium crowd was in full effect earning their ranking as the 11th toughest place to play in the nation, but BSU FR QB Malachi Nelson was unfazed as he finds SR WR Latrell Caples on his longest play of the day hitting him for a 46 yd TD score as BSU retakes the lead (31-24) with 4 minutes to play.

The Ducks however were not backing down though and with 1:24 Oregon tied the game with Gabriel's 4th TD of the day as he finds RB Jordan James out of the backfield for a 11 yd score to tie the game (31-31).

Bioise State and Coach Scott went back to work though as Aston Jeanty picks up a first down to keep the drive alive and after a 22 yd pass from Nelson to Caples the Broncos were in Field Goal position with 17 seconds to play and 1 timeout from 56 yards out. Senior Jonah Dalmas (85 Ovr) has the leg and a history of making big kicks, but Coach Scott knew if Nelson could just pick up another 7-10 yds it would make his job easier. The play was called and Nelson dropped back looking for 6'5 Prince Strachan over the middle, but the Freshman never saw the DE coming from the rightside and takes a 7 yd sack forcing Coach Scott to use his final timeout with 11 seconds to play. Faced with the decision of a 60+ yd FG and one last play, Coach Scott elected to put the ball in the hands of his Freshman QB who finds Ashton Jeanty out of the backfield for a 30 yd gain but the clock expires as this game goes to Overtime.

Oregon won the toss and elected to play defense, stopping the Broncos and forcing a Delmas FG to make it (34-31).

Now it was Gabriel's turn to win the game.. The Ducks moved the ball to the 6yd line but then were stopped as BSU setup a 3rd and 6. Gabriel took the snap and ran left but as the Bronco Defense collapsed, the 6th year QB made the perfect pitch to the RB Jordan James as he takes it in for the score and the victory..

                  FINAL SCORE #4 OREGON-37 BSU-34

                  WR T. Holden-7 rec 61 yds 2 TD

                  Coach Scott
I[ take full responsibility for the loss. That was totally on me. I was scared to attempt the 56 yd FG because frankly I didn't think we could hit it (I can't figure out the kicking in the game yet). I should've just let Delmas do it himself (sim the kick)

BSU will have Week 3 off as they prepare to host TCU for the Broncos home opener on the Blue in Week 4.

                      WEEK 4 (1-1) BSU VS (1-1) TCU

                      OPPONENT PREVIEW

This matchup isn't listed as a Rivalry but it probably should be. There is no love lost among these 2 schools and now with former HC/DC Andy Avalos on staff for the Horn Frogs as Sonny ****s new DC and former #1 WR Eric McAllister wearing the Purple and Silver. This was as close to a rivalry as you could get.

The Horn Frongs came into coming off a home loss to UCF (31-26) in Week 3, hoping to keep any hopes of a playoff spot alive.

                      GAME RECAP

Both teams struggled to mount much offense in the 1st Quarter as both schools find the endzone 1 time putting up a 7-7 tie after 1 Quarter of play.

Jonah Delmas gives BSU the lead early in the 2nd Quarter with a 55 yd FG (I simmed it) making it (10-7) but TCU QB Josh Hoover finds the former Bronco E. McAllister for a 80 yd TD to give the Horn Frogs the (14-10) lead with still over 6 minutes to play in the half. TCU would then extend their lead as Hoover hits S. Williams to make it (21-10) with 2:56 to play.

RB Aston Jeanty however would cut into the lead though with a nice 20 yd TD run to make it (21-17) at the half.

Boise State would open up the 2nd half with the ball and Nelson would lead the team on a nice 82 yd drive capped off with a 5 yd jet sweep by WR L. Caples to make it (23-21). Coach Scoot would elect to go for the 2pt conversion in hopes of making a 3 point game but Nelson fails to convert.

After a nice defense stop BSU gets the ball back and Nelson goes to work with another nice drive ending it with a 5 yard QB keeper to make it (29-21). Now looking to make it a 10 point game, Scott again elects to try for the 2pt play but Jeanty is stuffed in the backfield.

TCU would rally back as Hoover finds McAllister for his 2nd TD reception on the day making it (29-28) as we go to the 4th.

The Bronco "D" continues to shine in the run game as they hold TCU to just 23 yds on the ground but Hoover and the passing game manage to get the Horn Frogs in Field Goal range as TCU takes the lead (31-29) with just over 4 minutes to play in the game.

A Malachi Nelson INT quickly kills the Bronco's quest to retake the lead but lucky for Nelson the Bronco D bails him out and gets the ball back with just over 2 minutes to play and this time the Freshman delivers as he finds SR WR A. Bolt on a 27 yd score with 40 seconds to play giving the Broncos the lead and the victory..

                      FINAL SCORE BSU-36 TCU-31

                      KEY PLAYERS

                        WEEK 5 RECAP

                        OPPONENT PREVIEW

The Boise State vs Washington State battles have taken place 6 times with the Cougars winning 5 of the 6 meetings including a 57-0 beat down on the Blue Turf in 1997 (I was there in person on the 50 yd line.). The last time these 2 teams met was in 2017 when WSU beat the Broncos in Pullman in a come from behind victory 47-44 in Overtime.

If Pac-12 officials get their way, these 2 teams would meet ever year with BSU joining the Cougars and Beavers in a new formed Pacific Coast Conference. The only question now is how soon that might happen,

                        GAME RECAP

This game was a a tale of 2 halves, and Coach Scott and the Boise State Offense don't have much to say in the 1st half was the Broncos are kept off the scoreboard was WSU takes a (10-0) lead into the locker room.

After a 199 yd performance in Week 1 vs Georgia Southern Aston Jeanty has faced teams loading the box looking to stop the Junior from dominating games and forcing the Broncos to rely on Redshirt Freshman Malachi Nelson to carry to the load.

Despite a goose egg on the scoreboard, Nelson played smart in the first half completing 9/11 pass's for 102 yds.

BSU would finally get on the scoreboard to start the 2nd half as J. Delmas connects on a FG to make it (10-3). Then later in the 3rd BSU would tie the game (10-10) as Nelson finds TE Matt Lauter for a 8 yd TD strike one of a team high 7 receptions on the day by the JR Tight End.

Both teams would trade FG's with each other midway through the 4th to make it (13-13) but with 4 minutes to play in the game WSU's QB J. Mateer would find SO WR Carlos Hernandez for a 2nd time on the day was the duo connects from 12 yds out to give the Cougars the (20-13) lead.

After another short series, BSU was forced to punt with 2:48 to play. WSU looking to try and take as much time off the clock as possible would force BSU to spend all 3 timeouts before the Bronco Defense forced a punt with 47 seconds to play.

Coach Scott knew his team would need some kind of miracle to win this game and he found it in his star player, as Jeanty takes the Punt 60 yds to paydirt making it (20-19).

The Broncos were faced with a tough decision, they could kick the XPT and look to win the game in OT, something they failed to do against Oregon or they could go for the 2PT conversion, something they were 0/2 on the season.

Coach D left it in the hands of Coach Scott and the 1st year OC sent out his offense.

Malachi Nelson had played a pretty solid game completing 19/26 pass's for 188 yds and touchdown, but this game wasn't going to be won with his arm.

Nelson took the snap rolled right and looked at TE Matt Lauter for a brief second as the double team covered the big TE. Nelson then scanned for his 6'5 WR Prince Stratchan who was also smoothered by a Cougar defender before tucking the ball and making what hopes to be one of the first of many big plays in hiis early career, converting the 2 point play as the BSU crowd rushes the field in victory..

                        FINAL SCORE BSU-21 WSU-20

                        KEY PLAYERS

                          WEEK 6 RECAP

                          OPPONENT PREVIEW

Boise State and Utah State have played 28 times ****** back to 1975, with the Broncos owning a 23-5 record vs the Aggies. Utah State's last victory came in 2015 in Logan with a 52-19 victory. Could they snap the losing streak today?

The Transfer Portal has been rough on the Aggies over the past several seasons and to make matters worse HC Blake Anderson was fired just before the season was to start with DC Nate Dreiling taking over the role of interim HC.

                          GAME RECAP

Utah State entered the game (2-2) with loss's to USC and Utah but in both of loss's averaged over 30 PPG and they showed why quickly as they jump out to a early (7-0) lead.

Boise State would answer back with a touchdown of their own as Malachi Nelson goes to the air hitting Indiana transfer Cam Camper for his first TD as a Bronco to make it (7-7) but the the Aggies answer right back with a score of their own to make it (14-7) after 1 Quarter of play.

The scoring trades would continue in the 2nd Quater as both teams added 2 more TD's to their total giving the away team the (28-21) lead going into the locker room.

Utah State had done something no team had accomplished yet this season against the Broncos and that was to establish a run game early finishing the 1st Half with 102 yds on the ground.

For BSU the run game was almost absent as star RB Aston Jeanty left early in the 2nd Quarter with a strained leg injury leaving him on the sideline.

Backup RB Jambres Dubar would carry the ball just 3 times in relief managing just 2 yds but one was for a 1 yd TD plunge.

Well the 1st half provided 7 TD's the 3rd Quarter gave us none as Boise State adjust to the loss of their star RB, as Utah State extends their lead to (31-21) after a 47 yd FG.

With Jeanty still on the sidelines and Dubar facing struggles of his own, Coach Scott ran out 4 and 5 WR set's and pushed the ball down field his new star QB looked to put this game on his shoulders with a trio of TD's giving him a career high 5 on the day.

Utah State however wasn't going down without a fight and with less then a minute to play the Aggies take the lead (45-42).

Still thinking about his horrible play calling in the final series against Oregon, Coach Scott knew if he let this game get away from him his career in Boise could be over before it started. After 2 completions by Nelson got the Broncos into FG position, Scott ran backup RB K. Dudley up the middle to set up a 37 yd FG attempt, in which SR J. Delmas connect with ease (again I simmed the kick, if anyone reads this please let me know how well you kick FG's in this game).

Tied (45-45) the Broncos were headed to Overtime for the 2nd time this season and again the Broncos lose the coin toss and start on Offense.

Already with over 480 yds passing and 5 TD's on the day Malachi Nelson was lookng to make it 500 and #6, but instead the Broncos were once again forced to kick a FG as Utah State gets their chance on Offense.

The Bronco "D" had been MIA most of the game giving up a season high 182 yds on the ground and over 500 yds of offense on the day, but in this series they showed up forcing the Aggies to also settle for a FG making it (48-48).

Utah State again goes back out on offense and again the Aggies are forced to kick a FG making it (51-48).

Nelson and the Broncos have a chance to win the game with a TD, but faced with a 4th and 1, Coach Scott sends out the offense looking to extend the drive and go for the win. Nelson takes the snap and hands off to Jeanty who is back in the game after missing most of 3 Quarters. but the Aggie defenders are ready and stop him short of the 1st down. The Streak is over, the fans are stunned and Coach Scott's future isn't looking so bright.

                              WEEK 7 RECAP

                              OPPONENT PREVIEW

Boise State and Hawaii first played each other in 1996 with the Warriors winning the matchup (20-14) then 3 years later they met again on the Big Island with the Warriors defeating the Broncos (34-19) but since then the 2 schools have faced each other 16 more times with the Broncos winning 15 of the 16 matchups.

Known for their high scoring offense attack, Coach Scott knew this game had the makings for a shootout and it didn't disappoint.

                              GAME RECAP

BSU jumped out to the early 7-0 lead and Hawaii struggled on Offense in the 1st Quarter managing just a 34 yd FG to make it (7-3) BSU would extend their lead to (10-3) with a 44 yd FG of their own but Hawaii would tie the game (10-10) with 3 minutes to play in the half. The Broncos Malachi Nelson found his rhythm though completing 6/6 pass's including 26 yd scoring strike to A. Bolt to make it (17-10 at the half.

The Broncos came out of the gate in the 3rd Quarter struggling on offense though as Nelson throws a INT in the endzone killing the Broncos only chance to score well Hawaii ties the game (17-17) as SR QB Brayden Schager connects on a 74 yd bombto SO Pofele Ashlock.

Both teams came out swinging in the 4th though as Nelson and Schager add to their touchdown totals as Nelson connects on back to back scoring strikes with Prince Strachan who finished the game with a team high 8 rec for 107 yds.

Tied (31-31) Hawaii is forced to punt the ball with 1:13 to play and BSU just wanting to get off the island with another victory under their belt settles for a 33 yd FG to win the game.
