BRONCOS COME UP SHORT IN ROUND 2!!

Boise State's season is over.. The Broncos came up big with a upset win over Florida State in Round 1 of the CFP, but the Wildcats found away to crack the glass slippers that the Broncos hoped would carry them to their dream of playing for a National title.

Not all is lost on the season though as Coach Spencer Danielson and OC Ryne Scott did some pretty amazing things in their 1st year as fulltime coaches.

Neither team scored in the 1st Quarter but the K-State offense exploded for 3 scores in the 2nd half including a touchdown with 32 seconds to play to break the (14-14) tie and take the lead (21-14) into the locker room.

K-State got the ball to start the 2nd half and quickly put up another touchdown on the scoreboard, but the Broncos rallied back with 2 scores of their own to make it (28-28) going into the 4th.

For QB Malachi Nelson it was a historic moment as the Redshirt Freshman connected on his 49th and 50th TD pass of the season extending on his new Boise State record..

Nelson would continue to add to the record books in the 4th as he moves past Ryan Diniwiddie's single season passing yards record well.

On the end of both 3rd Quarter TD's was also a new record as SR WR Latrell Caples makes the single season TD record his own with #17 and #18 on the year.

However that is also when Nelson's magical season came to a end. Trailing 35-34 with less then a minute to play Nelson was looking to put his team in FG position but instead Nelson was picked off by the Wildcat Defense as Kansas State turns it into a "Pick 6" and the game clinching score.

      FINAL SCORES KSU-42 BSU-34

      KEY PLAYERS

      QB-M. Nelson-16/24 (66%) 329 yds 4 TD 1 INT
      RB A. Jeanty-15 carries 74 yds
      RB J. Dubar-4 carries 12 yds 1 TD
      WR L. Caples-6 rec 167 yds 2 TD
      WR P. Strachan-4 rec 100 yds 1 TD
      WR C. Camper-1 rec 10 yds 1 TD
      TE M. Lauter-3 rec 29 yds

      QB A. Johnson-25/33 (75%) 413 yds 5 TD
      RB D . Giddens-16 carries 116 yds 1 TD
      WR J. Jackson-9 rec 207 yds 2 TD
      WR J. Brwon-6 rec 80 yds 2 TD
      WR D. Cephas-3 rec 60 yds
      TE G. Oakley-5 rec 41 yds 1 TD

WTH THE LOSS BSU FINISHES THE SEASON (12-3) AND WILL HEAD INTO THE OFF-SEASON LOOKING TO ADD TO THEIR RECRUITING CLASS (CURRENTLY JUST 5 PLAYERS) AS WELL AS TRY AND KEEP THEIR PLAYERS FROM LEAVING

HURRICANES BEAT WILCATS TO WIN TITLE!!!

The 2025 12 team college playoffs will be something people talk about for years to come.

For some it will be remembering Boise State's opening round win over Florida State.

For others it will be #1 Ohio State beating #9 Michigan for a 3rd time this season in Round 2 to Advance to the Semi Finals.

For others it will be QB Will Howard and the Buckeyes falling to his former team K-State (34-24) in the Semi Finals as KSU heads to the Finale.

For others it will be #7 Miami beating SEC powerhouses Texas A&M and Oklahoma on their way to the Semi's and for others it will be Notre Dame beating Georgia and Clemson on their own way to the Semi's before falling to the Hurricanes (24-21)

For K-State the Wildcats Offense was unstoppable in Rounds 2 and 3 averaging 37 PPG, but the Hurricanes smothering Defense (only gave 7 points to Oklahoma) stepped up huge again holding KSU to just 13 points in the (21-13) victory.

Well Howard's move from K-State to Ohio State backfired , he still came out a winner as he receives the 2025 Heisman Award,, with 4132 yds passing with 40 TD's and 10 INT, well also rushing for 559 yds and 6 TD.

Howard wasn't the only QB transfer to leave his school and find success elsewhere.

KJ Jefferson left Arkansas after 5 seasons (3 as the starter) to finish his career at UCF and he did it in a big way as he is named the College Footballs Player of the Year. Jefferson finished with 4166 yds passing with 41 TD and 11 INT, well also rushing for 798 yds and 9 TD.

          OFF-SEASON STORY'S

COACH D FINSHES #2 IN COACH OF THE YEAR AWARD

Despite only leading his team to the 2nd Round of the playoffs, Coach Spencer Danielson's leadership and abilities were rewarded as he finishes #2 beyond Miami's Mario Cristobal who led the Hurricanes

OC RYNE SCOTT TURNS DOWN MULTIPLE OFFERSE AND WILL RETURN TO BSU FOR YEAR 2.

Coach Danielson's wasn't the only BSU coach that opposing opponents and schools gave credit for the Broncos success in 2025.

Offensive Coordinator Ryne Scott turned down Head Coaching job offers from Memphis and Western Kentucky as well as OC positions to Stanford.

          Coach Scott
"I think every non-head football coach in the nation dreams of one day of being the guy in charge, but for me I know that day will come and I don't want to just jump at the first offer I get. I believe Coach D and I have a good thing going and I got a great QB with still potentially 3 more years of record breaking opportunities. We started something great this year and I want to see it continue,"
          JEANTY NOT DONE YET!!

Last year, Aston Jeanty said he wanted to stay a Bronco and help finish what he started. Today he continued that stance as he turns down a chance at a projected 2nd Round Draft selection to return to Boise State for his Senior season.

Jeanty's season was somewhat overshadowed by QB Malachi's record breaking year, but despite that he still managed to surpass 1000 yds finishing with 231 carries for 1133 yds and 10 TD. He also added 347 yds and 1 TD through the air on 32 receptions.

DUBAR PULLS A REVERSAL AS HE TOO WILL STAY

Rumors all season were backup RB Jambres Dubar was unhappy with the Broncos move to a move pass heavy offense and it was said Dubar was the Broncos #1 candidate to hit the transfer portal, but the Sophomore has announced that he is returning for another season of backing up and joining Jeanty in the BSU backfield. Dubar finished the year with 47 carries for 189 yds and 7 TD well also adding 9 rec for 52 yds and 1TD

BSU FINISHES WITH (2) 1000 YD RECEIVERS

SR Latreell Caples finished with a team leading 1243 yds and school record 18 TD's on 75 receptions but BSU fan's and Coach Scott are most excited about the potential of 6'5 Prince Strachan.

The Sophomore originally from the Bahamas, had a breakout season with a team high 77 receptions for 1025 yds and 9 TD's.

          Coach Scott
"The fact that Prince was able to put up those kind of #'s with the talented core we had just shows how good he is. Not only did he share catches with Caples, but we also had Austin Bolt (58 rec 904 yds 6 TD), Cam Camper (25 rec 373 yds 7 TD) and TE Matt Lauter (52 rec 527 yds 7 TD)."
BSU SAYS GOODBYE TO 20 SENIORS

Caples, Bolt and Camper are gone leaving a huge shoes to fill in the receiving room with a combined 158 receptions 2504 yds and and 31 TD's.

BSU also says goodbye to starting LG Ben Dooley but will return the other 4 starters including LT K Casey who played 961 snaps and RT D Metoyer who played 997.

The Bronco Secondary takes some major hit's with 5 of the Top-6 DB's graduating.

CB A'Marion McCoy (5 INT) and FS Rodney Robinson (3 INT) both graduating, along with FS S. Oladipo (65 Tackles, 6 TFL) #3 CB M. Reed (only 11 catches allowed) and starting SS Alexander Teubner (55 Tackles, 2 INT)

The D-Line also lost some impact players as DE Ahmed Hassanien leaves after a (41 Tackle, 10 TFL, 5.0 sack season that helped him get selcted in the 5th round of the draft and DT Herbert Gums who led the Broncos with 15 TFL and a team high 6.5 sacks.

BSU also says goodbye to PK Jonah Delmas who connected on 15/18 FG's (83%) and 62/63 XP

            BRONCOS HISTORIC SEASON PAYS OFF!!!

Last season Coach Spencer Danielson and his staff recruited a class of 21 players including 5* Transfer QB Malachi Nelson and 4* LB Clay Martineau that ranked #1 in the MWC and #64 in the nation ahead of schools like Washington State (65), Oregon State (66) Colorado (68 and UCLA (70) and was the 3rd highest class out of schools not in Power 5 conferences (USF was #57 and Tulsa was #61).

In-Season recruiting started out slow as the Broncos picked up just 5 early commitments.

3* WR Terron Sermon (66 Overall), 3* RB Angelo Upshaw (67 Overall), 3* TE/FB Athlete Kolby Mack (62 Overall), 3* LT Pat Witzmann (67 Overall) and 3* QB Kenan Cox (66 Overall).

Coach D and his staff however blew those #'s out of the water with the signing 18 more players (23 total) including a record (6)-4* Recruits. Not only did the class rank #1 in the MWC (202.75 PTS, San Jose was 2nd with 10-3* that got them 156 PTS). The Broncos Class came in Ranked #24 in the Nation, as they beat out schools like Oklahoma (#25) Ole Miss (#26) UCLA (#27) Utah (28) UCF (29), TCU (30) and Colorado (39) as well as Kansas State who finished with the #32 Class.

Head lining the 2025 class is Boise State's future #1 RB , a pair of 0-Linemen a potential instant starter at DT and a very talented CB and TE all with 4* rankings.

Montrell Zuber(75 Overall) comes from Carmel Indiana and is listed at 5'11 209lbs . With Aston Jeanty and Jambres Dubar both returning,

            Coach Scott
" Zubar will most likely red**** this season giving him a shot as a 3 year start just Dubar stick around for his Senior season"
Zuber will run behind 2 future starters on the O-Line in Kemani Clausen (74 Overall) and Raekwon Tackett (75 Overall)

6'5 305lbs Clausen listed at RG is from Jal New Mexico.

6'4 293 lbs Tackett listed at RT is from Hesperia CA.

            Coach Scott
"Clausen has the best shot at starting Day 1, with the graduation of our starting LG, but we have alot of depth at the guard position so both players could potentially redshirt giving them 4 full seasons as starters together"
Carlos Mack (72 Overall) comes in listed at 6'5 247 lbs from Merrillville Indiana.

            Coach Scott
"Mack is the perfect replacement for Matt Lauter, so we will throw a redshirt on him, with Lauter returning for his Senior year. Mack will then compete with #2 TE RS JR Austin Terry and #3 TE RS JR Jedrick Sumpter for the #1 spot next year. Best case, he is a 4 year starter, worst case he sits for a year as behind those guy's and gives us 3 solid years as a starter"

DT David Barnhardt (76 Overall) is listed at 6'1 319lbs and is from Hopkinsville Kentucky. Ranked as the #6 DT in this years class, Barnhardt appears to be ready to start Day 1.

            Coach Scott
"Honestly I don't have much to do with the Defense, but this kid looks like a beast and I believe is already out most talented player at DT"
Gill Parris (74 Overall) is listed at 6'0 186lbs and is from Michigan City Indiana.

            Coach Scott
"Again I don't have much to say with the Defense but with the graduation of 2 of our Top-3 corners from last year, Parris will have a shot at earning a starting spot this year with the other DB recruits we brought in"
Speaking off other Recruits. BSU signed 2 transfers out of the Portal.

JR CB Keany Parks (73 Overall) played last season for Wyoming well RS SO DE Karter Menz (72 Overall) played at San Jose State.

            Coach Scott
"Both players are very familar with other MWC opponents and both players coming in highly touted (better ratings then guy's who were projected to have to start), so I have been told both could be instant starters"
BSU also signed on Defense 3* DT Jermaine Casey (65 Overall), 3* MLB Courtney Mewhort (67 Overall) 3*CB Jamie Cherry (67 Overall) and 3* PK Juan Proctor (70 Overall).

On Offense BSU added another trio of 3* Offensive lineman as well as a tri of WR's

RG Cliff Peterson (65 Overall), C Dominick Kalis (69 Overall) and Clyde Eakin (65 Overall) will all provide depth this season with Kalis potentially next year's starting center.

3* Anthony Dimarco (67 Overall) is listed at 6'4 185 lbs and is from Houston Texas.

3* Brian Cordero (66 Overall) is also listed at 6'4 but 196lbs and is from McKinney Texas

3* Ronald Lincoln (66 Overall) is again another big one at 6'4 206lbs and also is from Argyle Texas

            Coach Scott
"We graduated 3 of our Top 4 WR's last year. We have RS SR Chase Penry (71 Overall) currently slated as our #2 behind Prince Strachan, but these 3 along with Terron Sermon (66 Overall) all have a solid shot at competing for the #3-#5 WR spots on our team along with RS Tyshawn Liggins (64 Overall) and SO Cameron Bates (62 Overall), however at this point Bates will most likely just stick as our #1 KR and PR"

What a first season for Coach Scott with Boise State! So many thrillers where Scott's offense answered the call time and time again. That win against Nevada really set the table for the run to the CFP, and with 50 touchdowns on the season, Nelson should be in Heisman conversation heading into 2025.

I definitely support bringing the Pac-12 back if you were to do that. To be quite honest, the extreme lack of regionalization (i.e. Oregon/UCLA/USC/Washington now in the Big Ten) has really diminished my interest in college football, much more so than any other new change in the last 20+ years. Killing the Pac-12 is the saddest move of them all, and I know restoring it would be one of the first moves I'd make if I get the new game.

Really looking forward to how long Coach Scott remains as Boise OC, and if he's just waiting for the HC job to open up or if he'll go elsewhere as a Power 4 OC or small-school HC first. He definitely won't be short for offers after this coming season with all that talent returning and the Top 25 class coming in.

Very fun season for sure... I feel like not playing Defense probably led to several of those OT games and games not decided until the 4th. Really my only big blowout of the the season was my very first game vs Georgia Southern.

Nelson has been great.. Honestly the best BSU QB I have used since Kellen Moore that is a real life recruit. I have had some pretty stellar QB's in the past on NCCA14 though that I recruited. To be honest I hadn't really been paying that much attention to his seasons stats and the fact he could break some school records until about 10 weeks in. The fact he was playing so well led to Maddux Madsen (backup) seeing zero action past Week 1, and I was a little worried he would transfer out, but I am glad he stayed so I have a pretty solid #2 should a injury happen.

It will be interesting to see what I do with the offense this season, though because with the bulk of my WR's gone and the fact Jeanty came back for his Senior year, I really think I want to focus more on my run game. Nelson has some wheels (88 speed) but ratings wise, Maddux and even Annett (3rd string) are considered to be the better runners of the trio.

I got to be completely honest when the Pac-12 broke up, I was extremely disappointed. I am a Westcoast guy and have been to games to watch Washington both home and away, Washington State both home and away and Oregon and Oregon State both when they played Boise State on the road.
I have also been to a game in Utah watching the Utes play BYU.

So brining the Pac-10/12/16 back is a must for me. I have literally been taking like 3 days to decide what to do. Part of me also doens't want to make the MWC a nothing conference so taking BSU, Fresno State, San Diego State isn't the answer either, but part of me also wants to see what I could do with BSU having to play against Oregon/Oregon State/Washington/Washington State, Utah, BYU every year too.

I think I have decided and will probably get the new conferences posted tonight.

As far as Coach Scott goes, I am probably going to promote him to a OC/Assistant Head Coach and play some defense this season well at BSU and then decide if I want to either A) stick it out until Nelson leaves (whether its a transfer, NFL or graduation) or B) take a job next year as a HC at a school and start the rebuild process of turning that school into the next BSU.

I have a pretty short list of small schools like UTSA or Sam Houston (potentially moving them to the Big 12 down the road) or schools I have done in the past like Texas State or Georgia State and going SEC. Or I maybe someone like FIU or FAU and trying to compete with FSU, Florida, Miami, UCF year in and year out.

A nice side effect I've noticed of bringing back the Pac-12 is that it helps to fix a bit of the wonky (at times) CFP and ranking. The top-25 still gets weird, but once I brought back the Pac-12, the CFP logic magically got *way* better.

I'm in year-2 of my dynasty (with Pac-12) and here are the seedings:
                    1. Bama - 10-2
                    2. BC - 11-2
                    3, OSU - 10-2
                    4. Texas Tech - 11-2
                    5. UGA - 10-3
                    6. NC State 8-4
                    7. Washington 12-1
                    8. Texas Tech - 12-1
                    9 - Okie State - 9-4
                    10. Oregon- 10-2
                    11. TAMU - 8-4
                    12. Va Tech 8-5

There's some quibbles in seeding probably, but that's 11 schools from the power conferences, no UAB's or weird teams getting a 3 seed, either. I did it just because I like the Pac-12 but the unintended logic has been awesome too. Noticed it both years.

So I saved at conference changes, made my changes and went ahead and simmed the entire Year 2.

I moved BSU and Fresno to the Pac-12 now 14, along with thel Pac-12 minus Colorado I left in the Big 12 and also brought in BYU.

I moved alot of other teams, Notre Dame to the Big Ten, Nebraska, Oklahoma , Texas and Texas A&M back to the Big 12, FSU, Miami, GT went to the SEC, ACC added Rutgers, Maryland, West Virginia, USF, UCF and Navy.

American, CUSA,, and Sun Belt had major changes. ect..

Anyways Appalachian State was head to the playoffs wiith 1 loss from the American but loss to Southern Miss in the Conferece Championship, so they fell out as the #12 seed.

Texas State won CUSA with a 9-4 record , so they had no chance. Akron was also 9-4 and won the Mac, UNLV won the MWC going 10-3 beating New Mexico who also went 10-3 so they also were out.

                      The seeds looked like this

#1 Oregon (12-1) won the Pac 12/14 beating Arizona
#2 Alabama (11-2 won the SEC (beat Georgia)
#3 Syracuse (12-1) won the ACC beating Virginia Tech
#4 Houston (10-2) won the Big 12 beating Nebraska
#5 Nebraska (10-3) lost to Houston Big 12 Title game
                      #6 Florida (10-2) #3 SEC team
                      #7 USC (10-2) #3 Pac-12 team
#8 Michigan (11-1) didn't even play in Big Ten title game lost to OSU in Week 14
#9 Georgia (10-3) lost to Alabama SEC Title game
                      #10 K-State (9-3) #3 team from the Big 12
#11 Penn State (10-2) #3 team in the Big Ten
#12 Ohio State (10-3) won the Big Ten over Notre Dame.

Notre Dame finished 9-4 with the loss in the Big Ten title game

Honestly the teams the made the playoffs were probably the right choices, like you said in yours, the seedings seem a little wonky though.

                      My Pac-12/14 looked like this

                      Oregon (12-1) *Champs
Arizona State (9-4) but 7-1 in Confernce, lost to Oregon in Championship
                      USC (10-2) (6-2)
                      Cal (8-4) (6-2)
                      BYU (8-4) (6-2)
                      Utah (8-4) (5-3)
                      Stanford (6-6) (4-4)
                      Washington (5-6) (3-5)
                      Oregon State (4-8) (3-5)
                      UCLA (4-8) (3-5)
                      Washington State (5-7) (2-6)
                      Fresno State (2-10) (1-7)

Boise State finished 4-8 Overall, with non conference loss's to Nevada and #11 Notre Dame as well as UTSA on the road and beat UCF on the road..

Went 3-5 in Pac-12 beating ASU, Washington State and Oregon State

Lost to Washington by 1, BYU by 2, Oregon by 10, Utah by 12 and Arizona by 11.

Based off that simulation I am pretty happy with how the playoffs turned out, but not so happy with BSU and Fresno State performance in the Pac-12, but that's life. They won't be powerhouse programs any more and every week will be a battle to win and probably the only way to make the playoffs is some how pulling off a 10-11 win 1-2 loss season every year..

                        NCCA ANNOUNCES MAJOR CHANGES!!

Eleven years, the last great spasm of realignment began shaking the college sports world. When it finally subsided in 2014, the landscape had changed dramatically. For the richer, but not necessarily for the better.

The Big Ten wound up with 14 teams, stretching from Nebraska to New Jersey. The Southeastern Conference expanded into Texas and Missouri. The Atlantic Coast Conference wandered nearly 1,000 miles inland. The Pac-12 annexed the Rocky Mountains. The Big 12, pushed to the brink of collapse, steadied itself by adding a school 1,200 miles to the northeast of the league office. Lesser conferences followed suit, scrambling for financial viability.

Then new TV deals came calling and teams started scrambling to make sure their school was getting the biggest piece of the money pie.

Well today, that Pie is being remade and every team is getting their fair piece.

                        NCAA Commish Bryan Jungling
"Even large universities like Cal and Stanford can not meet the demands of the travel requirements for their athletes to be able to compete in the ACC long term. College Football doesn't feel right with schools like Oregon, USC, UCLA and Washington playing in the Big Ten. Oklahoma and Texas not in the Big 12 just seems like a nightmare I want to wake up from as quick as possible."
One has to wonder.. Could Boise State have competed and won a a Pac-12 title against the likes of Oregon, Washington, USC, ect... What Fresno State continue to win playing against Cal, Stanford, UCLA and USC every year?

Could UCF become a Florida Powerhouse overtaking FSU, Florida, and Miami.

What would a conference looks like made up of 12 schools from Texas? Could Tennessee, Kentucky and Ole Miss win a National title if they were not playing in the SEC against Alabama, Georgia, and LSU every year?

Well those questions now have a chance to be answered..

                        Jungling
Withe help of computer simulation and the NCAA Football 25 video game, we have taken a look at multiple seasons creating new conferences like bring back the Pac-12, revamping the Big Ten, Big 12, American, CUSA, giving a smaller schools a chance to compete with the big boys week in and week out and we have liked the results of what it has give us in several 12 team playoff scenario's..
Here is a look at the new conferences moving forward for the 2025-2026 season

The new ACC will have the largest ever conference in college football history with a total of 20 teams split into 2 Divisions.

West Virginia head lines the division as they are joined by

                        Virginia Tech
                        Virginia
                        Marshall
                        Liberty
                        Old Dominion
                        James Madison
                        Boston College
                        Maryland
                        Navy

Division 2 will feature schools from both North and South Carolina.

                        Clemson
                        South Carolina
                        Coastal Carolina
                        North Carolina
                        NC State
                        Duke
                        Wake Forest
                        Appalachian State
                        East Carolina
                        Charlotte.

When you think College Football it doesn't get any more American then Texas Football and that is what the new American Conference will be.

                        Texas
                        Texas A&M
                        Texas Tech
                        Texas State
                        North Texas
                        San Houston State

                        Baylor
                        TCU
                        Houston
                        SMU
                        Rice
                        UTSA

It might be called the Big 12, but this conference actually has 11 teams..

Oklahoma is the headliner but some think Kansas State fresh off their appearance in the National title game could be the team to beat. They are joined by several former Big 12 schools as well as a few new ones.

                        Oklahoma State
                        Tulsa
                        Kansas
                        Colorado
                        Nebraska
                        Iowa
                        Iowa State
                        Illinois
                        Northern Illinois

It might be called the Big Ten but this conference still will have 14 teams.

Ohio State and Michigan still headline this conference and will most likely be the favorites to face each in the Big Ten Championship as they go to opposite divisions.

Michigan State, Wisconsin and Minnesota are joined by former MAC schools Central, Eastern and Western Michigan.

Cincinnati, Penn State, Pitt, Rutgers, Syracuse and Temple will join OSU in looks of dethroning last years champ.

The new look SEC will be divided into 2 divisions.. The Deep South which includes SEC mainstays, Alabama ,Georgia, Auburn LSU , Arkansas and Missouri well also being joined by Georgia Tech.

The Sunshine Division will consist of all teams Florida.

Florida, Florida State, Miami, UCF, USF, FIA and FAU will battle it out to see who can be the best of their state year in and year out. Will Miami continue to build off their National Championship of last season, or they get taken out from a Deep South team before getting a chance to even compete in the 12 team playoff.

The Biggest winner conference wise has to be CUSA as it will now include 14 teams bringing in a mix of schools from the ACC, Big Ten, SEC and the Independents as Notre Dame joins to headline the conference.

The Irish will be joined by former Big Ten schools and rivals Purdue, Indiana, and Northwestern well also getting 3 teams from the state of Kentucky.. Louisville, Kentucky and Western Kentucky..

On the opposite division we get 4 teams from the state of Tennessee including the Vols, Vanderbilt, Memphis and Middle Tennessee State as well as 3 teams from Mississippi, Ole Miss, Miss State, and Southern Miss.

The Pac-12 is back baby!!! Only they upgraded to the 14..

Oregon, Oregon State, Washington and Washington State will be joined by BYU and BSU, as the Broncos look to see if they can compete on a regular bases with the big boys of the west coast.

USC,UCLA, Cal and Stanford are back to make up the Golden State Division but instead of being joined by Arizona and Arizona State, they will be joined by fellow Cali schools, San Diego State, Fresno State and San Jose State.

The Mountain West lost power programs like Boise State, Fresno State and San Diego State, but they did manage to land Arizona State and Arizona as potential conference champions of the future.

The Arizona schools will play in the Desert Division that includes, UNLV Nevada, New Mexico and New Mexico State.

The opposite will be a mix of leftovers, Hawaii, Utah State, Wyoming, Air Force, Colorado State and will be joined by UTEP the one Texas school left out of the American Conference.

The Mac lost key members in N. Illinois as well as all 3 Michigan schools, but they did manage to bring in a few new teams stay at 10 team Conference

The 6 Ohio schools, Akron, Ohio, Bowling Green, Toledo, Miami of Ohio, and Kent State are joined by Ball State and Buffalo well adding new comers UConn and UMass.

The Sun Belt will have a simi new look. The new Bayou Division will include

Tulane, La Tech, UAB as well as UL Monroe, Louisiana (formerly known as ULL) and Arkansas State

The Southern Peach Division will include

Georgia State, Georgia Southern, Kennesaw State, Jacksonville State, Troy and South Alabama.

You have heard the saying a Army of One. Well that is true here too. The Army Black Knights will currently serve as the only team playing as a Independent..

                        Jungling
"Moving forward for the next 4 seasons, this will be the way college football will look. After that we will look again to make some changes. We could introduce promotion/regulation type system..

Could Arizona, ASU or a different school earn a spot in the Pac-12, with San Jose State losing their spot with all the other California schools.. Could UTEP out perform Texas State, Sam Houston, or N. Texas and earn a spot in the American.

Could Ball State join schools like Notre Dame, Indiana, Northwestern taking the spot away from Western Kentucky

What about Ohio, Akron or any other Ohio School joining the Big Ten with OSU and Cincinnati sending back some of the Michigan schools to the MAC.

What will become of the ACC and its current 20 members could we see some Maryland, Navy or BC jump to a different conference..

What about Army could they join a conference ending the ideas and possibility of a Independent??

There are all kinds of possibilities.. Only time will tell

CAN THE BRONCOS MAKE ANOTHER RUN TO THE PLAYOFFS?

Finishing the year with a 10-2 record, winning the MWC title and upsetting #5 Florida State as the #12 seed in the 1st Round of the College Football Playoffs was a dream season for Head Coach Spencer Danielson and 1st year OC Ryne Scott.

The Duo then struck gold in the offseason when it was announced star RB Aston Jeanty was returning for his Senior season looking for a chance to win a Heisman and help Nelson and Company make another run a a Championship.

                          THE ROAD GOT TOUGHER

Last season, BSU went 6-1 in MWC play before beating Fresno State for the schools 6th MWC title. Now it will be there last, as Boise State joins the reformed Pac-12/14 along with both Fresno State, San Diego State and San Jose State.

The Broncos will have familiar foes as they join the North Division with Oregon (1 of last year's 2 loss's) Oregon State, Washington State, Washington , Utah and former MWC rival BYU.

                          Coach Scott
"Well we know that our conference schedule just got alot harder, we are excited for this next chapter in BSU football. If we want to build a program that is ready to play against the best teams in the country, nothing prepares you better then facing them week in and week out in conference play"

BSU will kickoff Pac-12/14 play in Week 2 vs Stanford and will also play @ USC in Week 4 to go along with the Division matchups Week 9-14.

BSU also added another bigtime opponent as they will face Top-25 ranked Notre Dame in South Bend in Week 7 a matchup that both schools created last year before the conference changes were announced..

BSU finished off their non-conference matchups with 2 former MWC opponents and will play Hawaii in Week 1 and Nevada in Week 3 along with a road matchup in Week 4 @ Houston. Here is a look at the schedule.

                          Week 1-vs Hawaii
                          Week 2 vs Stanford
                          Week 3 vs Nevada
                          Week 4 @ Houston
                          Week 5 (Bye)
                          Week 6 @ USC
                          Week 7 @ #10 Norte Dame
                          Week 8 (Bye)
                          Week 9 @ BYU
                          Week 10 vs #10 Oregon
                          Week 11 vs Washington
                          Week 12 vs Washington State
                          Week 13 @ Oregon State
                          Week 14 @ Utah.

With their first 3 games at home on the Blue, the Broncos will have a decent shot at starting 3-0 as they are currently favored in all 3 matchups.

However BSU is not favored currently in matchups with Notre Dame, Oregon, USC or Washington.

BRONCOS TO START THE YEAR RANKED #12 IN TOP-25 PRESEASON POLL

BSU managed to climb as high as #11 last season on their way to the #12 seed in the playoffs well finishing the year with a 12-3 record after losing to K-State in the Quarter Finals.

This year BSU will start the year #12 just 1 spot back from #11 Oregon the highest rated team in the Pac-12/14.

The Miami Hurricanes will defend their National Championship as the #1 ranked team in the nation followed by some very familiar names as the only
#8 Missouri is the only team in the Top-12 that wasn't in last year's 12 team playoff braket.

JEANTY NAMED TO 1ST TEAM ALL-AMERICAN AND HEISMAN WATCHLIST!!

Aston Jeanty could've been a 2nd round draft pick in last year's NFL draft. Instead he was named to the NCAA 1st Team All-American team as well as 1st Team All Pac 12/14 and is currently 1 of 4 RB's that will start the season along with Kansas State QB Avery Johnson on the Heisman Watchlist.

                          Coach Scott
"Jeanty is considered to be the Best Overall RB in the nation (97 Overall) Penn State's Nicholas Singleton, Tulane's Makhi Hughes, and Georgia Tech's Jamal Haynes are all great players, but there is no other RB I would want if I was building a program. Aston is a true leader and we are lucky to have him back."

BRONCOS RELOADED AND ARE READY FOR THE FUTURE!!

Boise State's Spencer Danielson and Ryne Scott shocked even themselves last season with the final recruiting grades as BSU's class of 23 players came in ranked #24 in the nation with only USC (#9) Oregon, (#12) Washington (#21) having better rankings among the Pac-12/14 schools.

Despite 20 graduating Seniors, BSU will redshirt 21 of those players with only 4* DT David Barnhardt and WR Brian Cordero joining the active squad

                          Coach Scott
"Barnhardt was a no-brainer, as the kid was our highest rated recruit in our class and has the skills to come in and be a Day 1 starter. Our Wide receiver room was hit hard with the graduation of 3 of our Top-4 WR's from last year's squad, and of the 4 incoming recruits Brian had the best spring and will make the squad as our #5. If we end up with any long term injuries through the season, we could look at getting a few other guy's some reps with the hopes of keeping them under the 4 game allotment so they can keep their redshirt status."
NEW CONFERENCE BRINGS ADDED PERKS TO RECRUITING

Well moving to the Pac-12/14 might make the Broncos road to the playoffs tougher, one thing it did make easier is pitches to incoming recruits for Coach D and Scott. Well the MWC was solid and offered players a chance to still pave a path to the NFL, BSU players will now showcase their skills every week among some of the best in the nation playing against schools like USC, UCLA, Oregon, Washington and the rest of the Pac-12/14.

                          Coach Scott
"Last season we started the year with maybe 3 or 4 4* Recruits who had us listed in their Top-10 to begin the year. We came away with 6 at the end of the season, but landed just 5 3* recruits during the in-season recruiting period. This yeat not only do we have a pair of 5* recruits with us listed in their Top-10, we start the year #3 on OLB Nick Ramos (Salt Lake Utah) list (behind BYU and Utah) Also 17 of our other Top-19 players are all 4* with several players already having us listed as their #1 school including RB Isiah Bloom, CB Bryce Best and MLB Zach Eddy"

**I will include a full Team Preview, and a Pac-12/14 preview tomorrow or this weekend before I start playing posting games. I probably will do a more in depth Recruiting recap during my Week 5 Bye Week. I am home this weekend and it's suppose to be over 100 degrees the next 3 days so I plan on getting in alot of my season, before being out of town the following 2 weekends for Disc Golf tournaments"

                            Quarterback

#1- RS SO Malachi Nelson (84 Ovr)
"The former 5* recruit from USC had a record breaking year in Boise last season leading the Broncos to a playoff win over FSU and a 12 win season well throwing for a school record 4537 yds with 50 TD and just 7 INT. If he can continue to produce those type #, we could be talking about him in the same breath as the great Kellen Moore"

#2 RS JR Maddux Madsen (75 Ovr)
Madsen once viewed a potential starter and star for the Broncos has battle injuries since arriving on campus. Last sason he played in Week 1 in the Broncos win over Georgia Southern completing 1/3 attempts for 25 yds.

#3 RS FR Kaleb Annett (70 Ovr)
Annett moves to the #3 after Colton Fulton's decision to hit the late transfer portal, and a solid spring saw him showcase the skills to be a future starter when his time comes

#4 FR Kenan Cox (66 Ovr)
A 3* recruit from last year's class signed early establishing himself as the only QB for the 2025 class. He will redshirt this season with the expectations that he will have a opportunity to push for PT in a couple of seasons.

                            RUNNING BACK

#1 SR Aston Jeanty (97 Ovr)
Jeanty returns as the feature back for the 2nd straight season. He rushed 231 times for 1133 yds (4.9 avg) with 10 TD's last season well fumbling just 1 time. A Heisman watchlist, I expect Jeanty will push for a 1000+ yd season and double digit TD's again as he looks to secure a 1st round draft pick status.

#2 JR Jambres Dubar (82 Ovr)
Rumors were Dubar was looking at the transfer portal but instead the JR returns to backup Jeanty for 1 more yar with a strong possibilitiy of being the Broncos feature back next season in his Senior year. Dubar had 47 carries last year for just 189 yds but 7 of those carries resulted in Touchdowns.

#3 RS FR Sire Gaines (78 Ovr)
Had a great spring and moved into the #3 spot after the late decision of last year's #3 SR K. Dudley's decision to leave school early and forgo his final season.

#4 RS FR Dylan Riley (75 Ovr)
Riley was another Bronco that looked good in the spring (+9 in training). Riley is the smallest of the 4 RB's listed at just 5'10 185 lbs, he could see some action as a 3rd down back but most likely will see the bulk of his PT as the teams primary Kick and Punt returner.

FR Montrell Zuber (75 Ovr) and FR Angelo Upshaw (67 ovr)
Zuber a 4* recruit and Uphaw are members of the 2025 class and will both redshirt as they will look to carve out roles next season. Zuber besides Jeanty has the best catching skillls of any of the Broncos RB's and will likely push for the #2 role next season behind Dubar or potentially the starting role if Dubar hits the Portal next year after deciding to stay this season.

                            FULLBACK

Both Fullbacks are former TE's who changed positions this spring.

#1- SO Kaden Anderson (77 Ovr)
Is listed as the team's starter and will see time in the backfield with both Jeanty and Dubar at times. A gifted runner and receiver I expect Anderson to carve out a role in the offense.

#2 RS FR Clayton Boswell (73 Ovr)
Listed at 6'7 240lbs, Boswell is like having a extra O-Lineman lined up in the backfield. I expect to see him in goal line situations where he could vulture a TD or 2.

                            WIDE RECEIVERS

#1 JR Prince Strachan (81 Ovr)
Strachan started the year as the teams #3 WR but finshed the year witht the most receptions (77) surpassing 1000 yds with 1025 and catching 9 TD's. If Strachan can continue to produce #'s like that for the next 2 seasons I expect the 6'5 Bahamas born TD machine to find his named called in the NFL draft.

#2 RS SR Chase Penry (74 Ovr)
Penry was listed last year as tthe team #6 WR but never recored a catch. He did however serve in the return game with 15 KR for 408 yds (27.2) and punt returns with 4 for 52 yds (13.0 avg). Considered one of the team's fastest players, Penry won a close battle to become the #2

#3 RS SO Tyshawn Liggins (74 Ovr)
Liggins had a huge spring (+10 training) alsmost earning the #2 spot, but he will start the year as the teams's #3, which Strachan severed in last year when he recoded a 1000 yd season and led the team in catches. Hopefully Liggins can do the same.

#4 SO Carmeron Bates (69 Ovr)
Bates like Penry didn't record a catch last season as a true freshman, but like Penry he was huge in the return game with 22 Kick returns for 672 yds (30.5 Avg) including a 100 yd TD return. He wil slide into the #4 role which Cam Camper filled last year managing to come away with almost 400 yds and 7 scores. Hopefully Bates can poduce similiar #.

#5 FR Brian Coredo (66 Ovr)
A 3* Recruit in last season's class from McKinney Texas, Coredo and his 6'4 frame won out the job giving Nelson another big target in the endzone. (Penry is 6'0, Liggins is 6'1 and Bates is 5'10).

                            #6 RS FR Darius Yeats-Jackson (60 Ovr)
Jackson moves to the active roster after redshirting last year and will be a depth piece should anyone get hurt.

FR A. Dimarco (67 Ovr), T. Sermon (66 Ovr) and R. Lincoln (66 Ovr) are all 3* Recruits from last year's class who will Redshirt this year and look to carve out roles next season with the graduation of Penry. Time will tell if any of them hit the transfer portal looking for more PT.

                              GAME RECAP

The #12 ranked Broncos opened up their season with a sold out crowd in Boise with the stadium all in Blue, as the Broncos took on the Hawaii Warriors in Week 1.

The game started out slow as BSU takes a 1st Quarter lead 7-0 behind a TD run by Ashton Jeanty and the Broncos would extend that lead to (21-3) at the half as BSU continues to attack the Warriors with their ground game with Jambres Dubar rumbling in from 7 yds out.

The World was introduced to QB Malachi Nelson last seaosn as the Redshirt Freshman threw for a school record 50 TD's.. Well Nelson looks to be back ready to smash more records and stake his claim as the greatest QB to ever play at Boise State.

Nelson would throw a pair of touchdowns in the 3rd Quarter to extend the lead to (40-3) but wasn't finished yet as he adds 2 more scores in the 4th to finish the day with 5 Touchdowns and over 400 yds passing.

                              Coach Scott
"I felt like our Offense was hitting on all cylinders tonight, but it helps when the Defense plays as good as they did. (6 sacks, 2 INT, held Hawaii to just 284 Total yards of Offense and -8 yds on the ground). I felt Nelson did a great job of spreading the ball around and getting Penry and Liggins involved in the passing game early and Jeanty and Dubar did a great job of sharing the backfield. Obviously we want Ashton to be a huge part of our offense but the season is more then just 1 game and we need him fresh especially next week as we take on Stanford"
