BRONCO'S STAY PERFECT BUT DROP IN POLLS!!

Boise State improved to 7-0 on the season as they picked up a road win over the Wyoming Cowboys (38-7)

Wyoming would manage just (8) First Downs on the day and a total of 193 yds of Total Offense, as the BSU Defense generates 3 turnovers in the game picking off RS SO QB Deyon Batiste (77 Ovr) 3 times.

For BSU it was Nelson still under center and throwing the ball well completing 19/23 pass's (82%) on the day for 226 yds with 3 TD's. Nelson also added a TD on the ground with 31 yds rushing.

Jambres Dubar carried the ball a team high 17 times for 53 yds (3.1 avg) well backup RB Dylan Riley had 5 carries for 39 yds (7.8 avg) and a rushing TD well also adding 2 rec for 18 yds and a score.

    Coach Scott
"It was great to see Riley come in and run the ball well in the 4th. With Zubar and Gaines both out, Dylan has stepped up big taking on a bigger role in the offense as well as continuing his role as KR #1."
DESPITE STARTING THE WEEK #1, BSU FALLS TO #2 IN THE TOP-25 MEDIA POLL AFTER THE WIN WELL, #2 AUBURN (ALSO UNDEFEATED (6-0) MOVES TO #1. IN THE COACHES POLL BSU IS ALSO #2 AS (6-0) NEBRASKA TAKES OVER THE #1 SPOT WITH AUBURN #3.

      DUCKS JUMP TO #3

Last year the Oregon Ducks backed by Nike owner Phil Knight had a 24 million dollar budget of NIL money as they bought the #1 class in the nation.

The Miami Hurricanes are currently have the #1 ranked class through Week 7 with 19 commitments (1-5*, 17-4*, 1-3*) totally 231.30 Pts.

Penn State is #2 with 12 signings (1-5*, 11-4*) but Oregon has jumped to #3 as 5* TE Henry Hook (#28 Overall/#1 TE) has announced his decision as BSU finishes #2. Hook joins a class of 9 others so far including a pair of 4* QB's in Maurice Clutts (#60 Overall/ #3 QB) and Tevita Redwine (#256 Overall/#18 QB).

      Coach Scott
"We can only assume that Hook was turned off by the fact we have RS FR Carlos Mack (35 rec 338 yds 3 TD) playing so well that the starting job is probably locked up for the next 4 years, well Oregon's Top 2 TE on their depth chart are both Seniors including former Washington Husky transfer Ryan Otten (82 Ovr) and Idaho native (Idaho Falls) Kenyon Sadiq (83 ovr)."
Well Hook said no, 2 other players did not as BSU lands its first 2 commitments of the season including 5* Athlete Sean Flowers (#19 Overall/#1 Utah/#1 ATH).

Joining Flowers is 4* RT David Wooleyhand (#266 Overall/#17 Tackle)

      Coach Scott
"We are extremely excited for both Sean and David. With 4 current Seniors on the Offensive line, we believe both these guy's will push for big roles next season whether that's in the starting lineup or off the bench as we look to keep our O-Line fresh and well rested"
With Flowers signed and Hook going elsewhere, BSU will continue it's efforts in trying to sign 3 other 5* Recruits all rated in the Top-25 Nationally...

        BRONCOS=PERFECTION!!

Boise State improved to 8-0 on the season and 4-0 in Pac-12 play with a (28-17) victory over BYU in Week 8.

The Cougars failed to put points on the scoreboard in the 1st half but BSU struggled as well taking just a (7-0) lead into the locker room. After a BYU FG to open the 2nd half, BSU extended their lead to (14-3) going into the 4th.

BYU would manage to find the endzone twice in the 4th Quarter but BSU matched them as Malachi Nelson finds RS FR Anthony DiMarco on a pair of scores including a 44 yd pass and catch.

Nelson finished the game 22/24 (91%) throwing for 265 yds with 3 TD's.

Jambres Dubar led the ground game with 16 carries for 84 yds and 1 TD

Prince Strachan led the team with 7 rec for 135 yds and 1 TD, well DiMarco finished with 5 rec for 74 yds and the 2 TD's.

BSU WILL HAVE A "BYE WEEK" IN WEEK 9 BEFORE RETURNING TO ACTION IN WEEK 10 ON THE ROAD @ WASHINGTON

          BRONCO NATION NEWS

          NELSON TAKES AHOLD OF QB1

Since returning from a torn rotator cuff that kept him out 6 months (24 weeks) RS JR Malachi Nelson has been on fire leading the Broncos to 6 straight wins since their Week 3 win over Clemson, Nelson has completed 78% of his pass's for 1835 yds with 19 TD's and just 1 INT.

          DUBAR PUTTING UP SOLID #'S

After serving as Ashton Jeanty's backup for 2 seasons, Jambres Dubar has taken over as the Broncos feature back and so far he has done a pretty dang good job. Dubar has 103 carries on the season for 563 yds (5.5 avg) with 4 TD's, well BSU has used 3 different RB's as the Broncos #2 with both RS FR Montrell Zuber and RS SO Sire Gaines hitting the IR.

          THE QUEST TO 1000

Malachi Nelson has proven that he has no #1 favorite target, with BSU almost having 3 receivers finish with 1000 yds in his 1st season and then doubling up again last year with both Chase Penry and Prince Strachan hitting the 1000 yd mark.

Well SR Prince Strachan is at it again through 8 games with a team high 40 receptions for 645 yds and 4 TD's as he looks for his 3rd straight year.

However the biggest news is that of a pair of Redshirt Freshman.

Terron Sermon is currently tied with Strachan for the most receptions (40) for 591 yds and 7 TD's, and Anthony DiMarco currently has 36 rec for a team high 681 yds (18.9 avg) well also catching a team high 10 TD's.

          Coach Scott
"To be completely honest, we knew we loved both Anthony and Terron's size (6'3 and 6'4) and their skill set but we never expected them to have the type of seasons they are having. RS JR Tyshawn Liggins was huge for us last year (46 rec 704 yds and 5 TD's) and so far this season these guy's have bumped him to a role as the #4 and just 7 rec for 72 yds."

          DEFENSE HAS STARS TOO

BSU's Offense continues to be ranked in the Top-5 nationally yet again this season, but that doesn't mean the team is without some major defensive stars.

RS SO OLB Jamal Shivers (86 Ovr) is a one of them as he currently leads the Broncos in Tackles (40) well also recording 7.5 TFL, 3.5 sacks and 1 INT

RS SR Jayden Virgin-Morgan (87 Ovr) is another. Morgan a 3rd year starter had 6.0 sacks as a RS Soph, then recorded 14 TFL and 3 sacks last season. But so far this year after recording 3 sacks against BYU leads the team with 9.5 this year well also currently #2 in tackles with 31.

BRONCOS LOSE 2 MORE TO THE DUCKS!!

4* WR Greg Layne (#309 Overall/#43 WR, #2 OR) announced he was skipping his Week 8 visit to Boise and is signing with the Ducks. Layne from Lake Oswego Oregon, also has scholarship offers to Washington, Stanford and BYU.

4* OLB Emanuel Judge (#275 Overall/#9 OLB) is also joining the Ducks next year. The Bellflower CA native originally was slated to visit BSU in Week 13 and had scholarships and visits scheduled with Oklahoma as well.

With the Addition of Layne and Judge, Oregon is now ranked #2 in the nation after Week 9 with 17 signings (1-5*, 15-4*,1-3*)

Layne and Judge were not the only BSU targets to make commitments over the Week 9 "Bye Week" Coach Danielson and Scott lost 2 more of their 5* targets.

5* SS Tyrone Hollis (#2 Overall/#1 South Carolina/#1 SS) has committed to the Miami Hurricanes. Hollis also had scholarship offers from Virginia Tech and was suppose to visit the Hokies next week.

With the signing Miami continues their strong hold on the #1 class with a total of 24 players (3-5*, 19-4*,2-3*)

Well BSU won't see Hollis most likely next season or ever unless the Broncos and Hurricanes meet in the playoffs, they will see 5* WR TJ Sermons alot.

Sermons (Ranked #25 Overall/#5 WR/#2 CA) listed at 5'10 183 lbs from Bakersfield CA, has decided to stay close to home and will play for the USC Trojans next fall. Sermons had scholarship offers from Arizona as well.

BSU DROPS TO #4 DEBUTS AS #3 SEED IN PLAYOFFS

With the week off and out of the national spotlight, the Broncos have fallen in the Top-25 Polls yet again.

BSU now finds itself #4 in the Top-25 Media Poll, #3 in the Top-25 Coaches Poll and debuts as the #4 ranked team in the CFP Polls and debuts as the #3 seed.

Auburn currently 8-0 and 4-0 in SEC play is the unanimous #1 in all 3 Rankings (Media/Coaches/CFP.

The Tigers have beat both Miami and Georgia this season, but still have (4-4) Arkansas on the road and home games against (4-4) Missouri, (5-3) LSU and (5-3) Alabama in the Iron Bowl.

Michigan is currently #2 in all 3 polls and the projected #2 seed. The Wolverines are 8-1 on the season (lost to Oklahoma 24-21) only have 3 games left (5-3) Eastern Michigan, (3-5) Michigan State and (5-2) Central Michigan before potentially facing Ohio State in the Big Ten title game.

The Buckeyes are currently (7-1) and ranked #3 OSU lost to Texas back in Week 2 (48-41) but have won 6 straight including wins over Penn State and Temple (currently ranked #18).

TCU joins Auburn and Boise State as the last of the 3 teams unbeaten. The Horned Frogs are currently 4-0 in American play and ranked #7 in the Media Poll and #12 in both the Coaches Poll and the CFP.

          PLAYOFF SEEDINGS IN WEEK 10

Auburn #1, Michigan #2, BSU #3 and (7-1) Notre Dame #4 currently are projected as the teams with a 1st Round Bye.

#5 (7-1) Ohio State is projected to take on TCU and face the Irish.

#8 (8-1) Stanford is projected to face #9 (6-2) Florida with the winner facing Auburn.

#11 (7-1) Liberty is projected to take on #6 (6-2) Oregon with the Ducks potentially getting a rematch vs BSU

#10 (6-2) K-State is projected to take on #7 (6-2) Clemson with the winner facing Michigan.

dang Nelson has been on a tear lately

barring a late season collapse you should be it the CFP playoff again at the very least

Nelson showing he doesn't need a true "power school" to do what he does. This happening all while the NCAA starts giving BSU the shift in the rankings. Alterior motives, possibly?

Nelson is by far one of the best QB's I have had over the years. Madsen however is one of those guy's that just plays better then his Overall ratings have him at. It's been tough to bench him, but Nelson is the star. If he hadn't gotten hurt I really do think he would've shattered all of Kellen's records minus obviously his win-loss.

Well the game is pretty dang awesome, there are still some glitches and the rankings/Polls are 1 of them.

Both Auburn and BSU are 8-0, yet BSU has wins over Oregon (then ranked #4, now ranked #5), Clemson (then ranked #3, now ranked #6) and USC (ranked #20).

Auburn has wins over Miami (not even ranked), Georgia (then ranked #9 but now ranked #17 at 5-3) and they played a FCS program , Southern Miss and FIU out of conference well BSU played Clemson, Wyoming (who is 5-3) Oklahoma State and Utah State (4-4).

Besides the polls, my other big complaint is the rating system they have for BSU. Program Tradition is only a B+ despite all the past success and 2 straight playoff appearances and I can't raise Campus Lifestyle past a C, yet players love coming to Boise and I really don't think BSU's Academic's is a D

                    BRONCOS COMEBACK FOR WIN #9

                    GAME RECAP

A pair of Malachi Nelson INT's in the 1st Quarter led to the Huskies taking a early (10-0) lead in the 1st Quarter and Washington would extend that lead to (23-0) before Nelson finally puts the Broncos on the scoreboard with a pair of scores before the half making it (23-14) at the break.

Nelson would then make it (23-21) in the opening drive of the 3rd Quarter with his 3rd touchdown pass of the day and with :32 seconds to play Nelson would find SR WR Prince Strachan for his 2nd TD catch of the day as BSU takes the (28-23) lead into the 4th.

Washington's offensive struggles continued in the 4th after scoring 23 points in the 1st half, the Huskies would manage a pair of FG's to retake the lead (29-28) with 3 minutes to play, but Nelson wasn't done yet, as the RS JR throws TD #5 with 1:58 to play. The Broncos would convert the 2pt conversion to make it a touchdown lead..

Demond Williams 22/28 on the day with 295 yds and 2 TD would lead the Huskies back out for the final drive but the Bronco D was ready as OLB Chase Martin picks off Williams for the game sealing INT...

BRONCOS WINNING ON THE FIELD BUT STILL STRUGGLING OFF!!

HC Spence Danielson and OC Ryne Scott have done a pretty good job of putting a winning program on the field, and at the end of the year have done a pretty good job of finding players to help carry on that winning tradition.

However In-Season Recruiting continues to be a struggle for the BSU program.

5* FS Percy Scroggins (#6 Overall/#1 CA/#1 FS) has dropped BSU to #3 after a Week 8 visit to BSU and has officially commited to Clemson.

4* FS Cedric Clapp (#355 Overall/#14 FS) has announced he won't visit in Week 12 and instead is signing with the Oregon Ducks.

4* ATH Oscar Terrill (#323 Overall/#19 ATH/#3 OR) from Portland Oregon had BSU #1 and took a Week 9 visit but announced he is signing with Ohio State. Terrill listed at 6'2 232lbs is viewed as a future Power RB and was thought to potentially push for the #1 RB role next year for the Broncos.

3* LT TJ O'Dowd (#469 Overall/#16 LT) is joining Terrill in Columbus as he signs with the Bucks skipping his Week 12 visit as well.

3* LT Avery Shoate (#1563 Overall/#52 LT) also committed elsewhere as he signs with Nebraska.

Not all was lost though, as the Broncos do manage to add 3 more players, including this year's class QB.

4* QB Willie Smoker (#192 Overall/#12 QB) from Keller Texas is listed at 6'2 210lbs had a scholarship offer from SMU and had Alabama and Oklahoma both on his Top-5

                      4* SS Marco Damico (#163 Overall/#7 SS/#2 NV)
is from Henderson NV and had scholarship offers from both UNLV and Nevada.

3* RT Quinton Eason (W#852 Overall/#42 RT/#8 CO) is listed at 6'5 315lbs and is from Monument CO. He had scholarship offers from Kansas State.

                      Coach Scott
"We are super excited about all 3 signings, but any time you can add 2 players rated in the Top-200 in the nation is huge. Willie has the gem quality potential and could push for the starting job after Nelson leaves and Damico could be a Day 1 starter at SS for us next season."

                        BRONCOS STAY PERFECT!!!

Boise State continues to ride the road of perfection as Washington State comes up short in their upset bid.

Tied (7-7) at the end of the 1st Quarte after QB John Mateer connects on a 95 yd pass and run play to SR WR Tony Freeman, WSU took a (14-7) lead early in the 2nd Quarter but BSU would score 17 unanswered points to close out the half and take a (24-14) lead into the locker room.

A pair of Malachi Nelson INT's (his 3rd and 4th in as many games, after just 1 INT from Week 3 to 10) killed both scoring drives in the 3rd Quarter but the Cougars were able to add just 3 pts making it (24-17) as we head to the 4th.

WSU would tack on another FG midway through the 4th to make it (24-20) but Malachi Nelson would find TE Carlos Mack for a nice 27 yd slant over the middle to extend the Broncos lead to (31-20) with just under 3 minutes to play in the game.

Washington State wasn't giving up without a fight though and with 58 seconds to play the Cougars found the endzone and converted the 2pt play to make it (31-28).

Down by a FG with under a minute to play, WSU had no choice but to attempt the onside kick but the Broncos hands team was ready as BSU fields the kick and runs out the clock..

                          BRONCOS CLINCH PAC NORTH TITLE

For a 2nd straight year BSU will play for a Pac-12/14 title no matter what happens in Week 13's game vs Utah.

                          GAME RECAP

This was a game of 2 Halves. BSU jumped out to a early (7-0) lead but watched as OSU took a (21-7) lead into the half as they 3 times in the 2nd Quarter, with RS SO QB David Afalava (79 Ovr) throwing 2 TD's and running for another.

Boise State would open up the 3rd Quarter scoring with a TD from Nelson TE Carlos Mack but a missed PAT by Jarrett Reeser left it (21-13). Reeser would later make amends for his earlier miss with a 32 yd FG to cut the lead to (21-16) as we head to the 4th.

Afalaya was who had played a pretty solid game until the 4th despite no points in the 3rd Quarter would throw 2 INT's in the 4th, both picked off by RS JR Frankyln Johnson Jr (81 Ovr) which led to another Nelson to Mack score to make it (22-21). BSU would leave the offense on the field and Nelson would convert the 2pt play to extend the lead to (24-21). The 2nd INT led to another Nelson TD throw as he connects with RS FR Anthony DiMarco to make it (30-21). Again BSU would leave the offense on the field to try for the 2pt conversion and again Nelson would convert hitting Prince Strachan in the back of the endzone to make it a 10 point game (31-21).

Boise State would add another late FG by Reeser to cap off the night.

BRONCOS SAY GOODBYE TO 17 SENIORS!!

QB Maddux "Mad Dog" Madsen, RB Jambres "Breezy" Dubar, WR "The" Prince Strachan as well as 4 of the Broncos starting O-lineman led by 3rd year starter Kage Casey led the Broncos onto "The Blue" for their final time.

Madsen started the year as QB1 but went to the bench when Nelson Malachi returned from his injury but today he was back at it as he led the Bronco Offense onto the field. Senior Jake Steele took his brothers starting spot at Center giving BSU 5 Seniors on the O-Line, well TE Austin Terry took Carlos Mack's starting spot as well giving BSU 9 Senior starters on Offense for the game and 6 Seniors on Defense

Only reserve RT H Schmidt and Backup TE J. Sumpter didn't start.

                            GAME RECAP

For 2 seasons Jambres "Breezy" Dubar played 2nd fiddle to Ashton Jeanty but today it was Dubar's time to shine, as the senior RB scored a career high 4 TD's including 3 in the 1st half to give BSU the (21-7) lead going into the locker room.

Utah opened up the 2nd half with a TD by RS SO QB Issac Wilson (85 Ovr) and the Utes would tie the game as Wilson finds the endzone again making it (21-21) but Dubar's 4th TD of the day would give BSU the (28-21) lead going into the 4th.

Utah would close the gap to (28-24) midway through the 4th, but a Jarrett Reeser FG put it back to a touchdown lead with under 3 minutes to play. (31-24)

The Utes had a chance to tie the game with a 1st and Goal, but a huge sack by SR DE Jayden Virgin-Morgan made it 2nd and 19 and then a holding penalty by the Utes set it back even further.. Utah would then go to the air but Wilson's pass was off target back to back attempts as BSU takes over on downs.

                            FINAL SCORE BOISE STATE-31 UTAH-24

WITH THE WIN BSU STAYS A PERFECT 12-0

BSU will take it's perfect record and #3 ranking into the Pac-12/14 title game vs the Cal Bears who knocked off Stanford (30-24) to keep the title game from being a rematch of last year.

Cal comes into the game ranked #7 with a (11-1) record. Their only loss came in Week 8 against USC (47-31)

                            BSU ADDS 3 MORE

BSU's Week 13 win over Utah was enough to convince 3 more players to give their early verbal's giving the Broncos a total of 8 early commitments.

All 3 players were rated 4* improving Boise State's National rank to #39 (145.90 PTS) .

                              CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP WEEK

This year's Conference Championship Week will have a major impact on the Playoff Seedings and end of the year Top-25 Rankings/

                              SEC
Auburn's undefeated season is over as the Tigers fall to LSU in Week 12 (45-17) but they rebounded with a huge win over Alabama (48-41) in the Iron Bowl to finish 11-1.

They will enter the SEC Championship ranked #4 and will take on #11 (10-2) UCF.

A loss by the Tigers will likely still mean a playoff spot, but for UCF a loss could see them slip out of the Top-12, with schools like #14 (9-3) LSU, #15 (9-3) Nebraska and #16 (10-2) Arizona all hoping to sneak in.

                              ACC

Clemson finished the year (10-2) and ranked #5. They like Auburn are likely in the playoffs not matter what, but for #13 (10-2) Liberty a ACC title would be the resume builder they are looking for to grab a late seeding bump.

                              BIG 12

#8 (10-2) Oklahoma is most likely in no matter what well (8-4) Kansas State appears out even if they win the Big 12 title, ending the Wildcats run at 3 straight years in the playoffs as they enter the game unranked.

                              AMERICAN

TCU started the year (10-0) and was ranked as high as #8 before dropping their final 2 games to Houston and SMU dropping out of the Top-25 all together. They will take on #21 Texas A&M for the American Conference title but it appears that neither team has a chance at a playoff spot.

                              CUSA

#9 (11-1) Notre Dame is most likely in not matter what, but the Irish could improve their seeding with a win over #19 (9-3) Tennessee. A win by the Vol's probably won't be enough but could give the Pac-12 or SEC a 3rd or 4th team in.

                              MOUNTAIN WEST

#16 (10-2) Arizona has a very slim chance of jumping 4 spots even if they beat (8-4) Wyoming to win the title. Their best bet would be loss's by UCF, Liberty and Notre Dame.

                              MID-AMERICAN
(8-4) Ohio will face (7-5) Bowling Green. Neither team has a chance at a playoff spot.

                              SUNBELT

(8-4) Louisiana vs (9-3) South Alabama. Neither team will make the playoffs. This one is just for pride and bragging rights.

                              PAC-12/14

#3 (12-0) vs #7 (11-1) Cal. Both teams appear to be headed to the playoffs no matter what, so this game is all about what seed and if BSU can stay perfect as the only team left in the nation without a loss.

                              BIG TEN

                              #1 (11-1) Ohio State VS #2 (11-1) Michigan

Both teams are in no matter what, but trust me this is probably as big as the National title to these 2 schools fan base. They didn't face each other during the regular season. OSU lost to Texas back in Week 2 (48-41) well Michigan lost to Oklahoma (24-21) the same week, as both teams are riding a 10 game winning streak.

The loser will most likely get jumped by BSU should the Broncos win and will most likely land as the #5/#6 seed and have to play in the 1st Round, well the winner will most likely get the #1 seed and get to face the #8/#9 seed in Round 2.

BOISE STATE STAYS PERFECT ADDS ANOTHER PAC-12/14 TITLE!!

For the 2nd time in school history the Boise State Broncos are 13-0!! BSU accomplished the feat back in 2006 when they finished the regular season 11-0 won their conference championship moving to 12-0 and then defeated Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl.

The Boise State vs Cal matchup was the first ever in the history of these 2 schools. The Broncos had never played the Bears before joining the Pac-12/14 conference last season and with only 8 conference games (6 in division 2 out) neither team met the last year (Stanford,USC, this year USC and Fresno State).

                                GAME RECAP

The game would feature 2 of the Top QB's in the nation as Cal's RS SR QB Fernando Mendoza (85 Ovr) has played like a Heisman finalist throwing for 3862 yds with 43 TD's and 10 INT well rushing for 321 yds and 5 TD's) leading the Bears to a 11-1 record.

For Malachi Nelson (88 Ovr) the Redshirt Junior was back at the helm after taking the Utah game off to allow Madsen a chance to start his final game on the Blue for Senior night. Nelson entered the game just 290 yds shy of 3000 yds on the season with 31 TD's and just 5 INT, well adding 134 yds and 1 TD on the ground.

Unlike the previous 2 games, BSU didn't trail at the half or struggle early on offense. The exact opposite happened with Nelson throwing 3 1st Quarter TD's to give BSU a commanding (21-0) lead after 1 quarter of play.

The Broncos would tack on 10 more points as RS FR Montrell Zuber scores on a 5 yd run. The TD was the first of Zuber's career but with the graduation of Jambres Dubar, Bronco fans hope to see many more.

BSU would take a (31-0) lead into the half.

Turnovers would plague both teams in the 2nd half as BSU commits 3 (2 Fumbles and a INT) well Mendoza toss's 2 INT's as well.

Cal would manage to finally get points on the board with a 46 yd FG late in the 3rd Quarter to make it (31-3) going into the 4th.

Mendoza who struggled all day (132 yds 2 INT through 3 Quarter) would manage to put together a drive in the 4th hitting Jonathan Brady for a 22 yd score but by then it was too little to late as BSU looked to run out the clock.

                                FINAL SCORE BOISE STATE-31 CAL-10
