    A CHINlK IN THE ARMOR??

North Texas might have just exposed a weakness that Texas Tech has, that the rest of the nation can take notice of. The Mean Green SR QB Siaki Wood (78 Ovr) likes to run (561 yds last year) and he showed it today, escaping the TTU rush, several times in 1st Quarter as he racks up 82 yds on the ground leading UNT to a (13-3) lead .

Texas Tech would battle back though as GNK hits A. Manzo on a 49 yd TD bomb and then after a Wood Fumble takes it 12 yds for the score himself to put TTU up (17-13). A 3 and out by the North Texas sets up a Kenny Bean 33 yd FG to make it (20-16), with 1:28 to play in the half but UNT would manage to tack on their own late FG with 3 seconds to play after another long gain on the ground making it (20-19) as we go to the break.

2 early INT by GNK in the 3rd Quarter killed to scoring opportunities by the Red Raiders, but the young QB would bounce back with a pair of scores to his #1 WR Eric Schumacher to make it (34-16) as we head to the 4th.

North Texas continued to struggle with the passing game but the ground attack continued to chew up yards as SR RB K. Abreu (75 Ovr) caps of the 13 play drive with a 3 yd score to make it (34-23).

TTU would copy UNT's playcalling in the 4th as the Red Raiders log 12 rushing attemps to finish the game including a touchdown by K. Enis to close out the day.

Both teams combined for a total of 962 yards of Offense. UNT had 50 carries for 227 yds and 1 TD and 1 Fumble with 224 yds and 2 INT in the Air. TTU finished with 24 carries for 96 yds and 2 TD well throwing for 415 yds and 3 TD. 2 INT

    FINAL SCORE TTU-41 UNT-23

    KEY PLAYERS
    QB GNK-24/51 (47%) 415 yds 3 TD 2 INT, sacked 5 times, 9 carries 19 yds 1 TD
    RB K. Enis-14 carries 76 yds 1 TD
    WR A. Manzo-9 rec 205 yds 1 TD
    WR M. Cashman-5 rec 106 yds
    WR E. Schumacher-4 rec 49 yds 2 TD
    WR S. Finau-2 rec 16 yds
    TE T. Kugbila-1 rec 32 yds

    Coach Scott
"A win is a win, but alot was exposed about this team today. Our Defense struggled against a QB who can get out of the pocket and our O-Line struggled all day to protect GNK. He was perfect 8 TD 0 INT in the first 2 games when he was sacked a 1 time vs today sacked 5 times and he ends up throwing 2 INT."
    UP NEXT

TTU will close out it's non-conference schedule with a home game vs the Rice Owls. Rice opened their season with a (27-16) loss to UCLA on the road, but bounced back with a home win over Northwestern (24-10) and then shut out FCS East (42-0) in Week 3.

Yeah I guess when Coach Scott hired Pruitt the OC away from North Texas they must have ditched the Air Raid cause in year's past UNT has always ran a Air Raid Offense..

I am getting ready to post the Rice game.. They must've watched the game film cause their QB ran too, including a 75 yd TD.

TTU GOES 4--0 IN NON-CONFERENCE PLAY!!

For a 2nd straight year Coach Scott has led the Red Raiders to a perfect 4-0 start against non-conference opponents. Now the only question remains is will he be able to beat TCU in Week 5 to make it 5-0..

          GAME RECAP

Rice must've watched alot of the North Texas game film cause JR QB Jorge McCracken carried the ball 3 times in the opening series including a 75 yd TD to put the Owls up (7-0).

TTU however showed they can make big plays too as GNK fires right back hitting Schumacher for a 66 yd bomb to tie the game (7-7). Both teams would trade Field Goals on the next series for each team as the 1st Quarter ends tied (10-10).

TTU and GNK opened up the 2nd Quarter with another TD toss to Schumacher as the Senior WR now has a pair of scores in each of the last 2 games and 5 on the the year after finishing the year with 23 last season.

TTU would then extend their lead as GNK hits one of his new favorite targets A. Manzo for his 5th TD of the season as well from 29 yds out to make it (24-10) which is where it would stay as both teams head to the locker room.

A pair of INT's would be the the hightlight of the 3rd Quarter as both QB's throw picks. Rice however would get on the scoreboard with theirs settling for a 35 yd FG to make it (24-13) Rice would pull the game to within 1 point in the midway through the 4th as McCracken finds the endzone on a nice 29 yd pass to JR WR M. Kirksey (72 Ovr).

Leading (24-23) TTU woul look to run off as much time as possible and did it well running the ball 11 times on their final series including 4 yd score by Kenyon Enis to make it (31-23) with 1:42 to play..

Rice had their chance down by 8 with no timeouts but McCracken's pass to the endzone but Keke Guy comes up with a huge deflection as the ball drops to the ground.

          FINAL SCORE TEXAS TECH-31 RICE-23

          KEY PLAYER STATS

          QB-GNK- 15/19 245 yds 3 TD 1 INT, 46 yds rushing
          RB K. Enis-19 carries 42 yds 1 TD, 4 rec 11 yds
          WR E. Schumacher-3 rec 109 yds 2 TD
          WR A. Manzo-4 rec 91 yds 1 TD
          WR M. Cashman-2 rec 12 yds
          TE T. Kugbila-2 rec 22 yds

          Coach Scott
"I am going to be completely honest, we didn't really deserve that win. The scoreboard says otherwise but Rice actually outplayed us everywhere. They had more yards of Offense (500 vs 337), They had more rushing yards (141, 5.2 avg vs 85 3.2 avg). They had more passing yards (333 vs 245) They ha a better 3rd Down Conversion (7/14 vs 3/9) and they had the ball longer.(33 mins to 26). We won't get so lucky like that against TCU next week'
          INJURY REPORT

Last season TTU was hit hard by injuries on both sides of the ball and the Defense took a big hit tonight losing CB1 DaQuan Fowler (81 Ovr) and MOLB Darrell Vanover (79). Both players are expected to miss the next 4-6 weeks. Fowler with a Dislocated Elbow and Vanover with a Dislocated Ankle.

Former 5* Recruit Matt Sorah will step into the CB1 role vacated by Fowler well TTU will use a combination to replace Vanover who had 17 tackles, 2 TFL, 4 Pass Deflections and 1 Fumble/Recovery.

I had noticed your absence, but hopefully you have had time to catch up. Well I never expected too win so soon with TTU, I feel like I want to stick around at least 4 years unless GNK ends up leaving early for the NFL. It would be nice to see my first recruiting class maybe even graduate so maybe 5 years. The Dynasty mode on here is a 30 year campaign. Like I mentioned earlier I would love to make a return to Boise but we could see Coach Scott maybe take on the challenge of building up a small school or I might just save that for a future Dynasty. Now that College Football is being made again it will be interesting to see how often a new game comes out and what they do different. So I guess that will decide how many threads I have created on here by then.
No worries, Deuce! You're moving at a rapid pace (must mean the new game is living up to the hype entertainment-wise) and I'm not able to be on here quite as often now, but I was able to catch up pretty quickly.

Congrats on Coach Scott's first natty as a head coach! That GKN-Schumacher connection was really cooking throughout the year, and I feel like you handled Michigan better than expected in the final. Seems like those two are having similar success to start this campaign, but I also feel like you're getting your opponents' best shot now considering the North Texas and Rice results.

I wish I had a quarterback named McCracken.

Hoping that TCU doesn't have a scrambling quarterback. It should be a good texas showdown though!

TTU GETS IT'S REVENGE AND THE SADDLE!!

Before the season began this game was billed as one of the biggest showdowns in College Football. #1 Texas Tech looking to get revenge against the #3 TCU one of only 2 teams to beat the Red Raiders last season.. Well 2 early season loss's by the Horn Frogs (Lost 28-10 to Duke in Week 2, and (49-17 to Ohio State in Week 4) had TCU coming into the game not even ranked in the Top-25.

                Coach Scott
"I don't care what the rankings say. TCU started the year #3, they have made the playoffs the past 2 years and they have proven they are one of the Best 12 teams in the nation. If anything coming into the game not ranked probably just fueled their fire for a victory even more"
For Coach Scott though this Week's game has been on his mind all year.. Despite not having growing up in this rivalry he knows how important the Saddle and the Title of West Texas State Champions is to Texas Tech alumni and fans in Lubbock.

                Coach Scott
"I grew up in Idaho. My entire life has been about the BSU/Idaho rivalry that divides the state., then later in life BSU/Fresno State football that typically means Mountain West Championships and the Milk Can. and now Boise State/Oregon which means Pac-12 titles and National Title dreams. This game and this rivalry is that extreme, and I wanted it bad"
                GAME RECAP

TCU won the toss and elected to kick, as GNK and the offense get first crack at the scoreboard and the Sophomore QB delivered finding Eric Schumacher at the end of a 9 play drive including the 20 yd pass to his #1 WR. (7-0).

A quick 3 and out by the Horn Frogs was met with a 1 play 63 yard bomb from GNK to Adrian Manzo to make it (14-0)..

TCU fan's were stunned but it didn't take them long to get back into the action as the Horn Frogs battle back with their 1st score of the day as JR QB Steven Clemens (81 Ovr) finds SR WR Tavares Mayo (87 Ovr) for the first of many hookups on the day (14-7).

The Red Raiders however were not done. For GNK it was showtime as he looked to give the nation a glimpse of what he could do as he throws his 3rd and 4th TD of the day connecting with SR TE Trevor Kugbila on both of them (28-7) but Clemens didn't back down as he finds Mayo for TD #2 for the pair as they make it (28-14) with under 2 minutes to play in the half.

Texas Tech had a chance to add 1 more score before the half but a Kenyon Enis fumble kills the drive just inside the redzone leaving it (28-14) at the half.

Well the 1st half was full of scores (6 TD's combined) the 3rd Quarter wasn't as action packed as both teams add a score each, as Clemens finds Mayo for TD #3 and GNK hits Manzo for his 2nd of the day giving him the team lead with 7 on the year (35-21).

Before the game, Coach Scott honestly didn't know much about Steven Clemens TCU's new starting QB. Clemens had limited action coming into the season with just 1 completion last year but the former 4* from New Iberia Louisiana was impressing quickly as Clemens throws TD #4 his 12th on the year (just 2 INT) and then after a are 3 and out, Clemens showed off his feet as well as he finishes off a 7 play drive with a 4 yd run to make it a 2 pt game (35-34). Despite there still being 4 minutes to play in the game, the Horn Frogs elect to keep the offense out there looking to take the lead but the Red Raider Defense was ready as Clemens goes down in the backfield (1 of 4 sacks on the day).

For Texas Tech, the game plan was simple, attack the grass and play smart with a little fun at the same time. TTU would use 9 plays on their final drive of the day and take off almost 2:30 minutes. but the one people will be talking about all week was WR Eric Schumacher's 41 yd run down to the 3 yd line.

                Coach Scott
"I feel like teams are starting to catch on that we like to mix things up with our Wide Receivers getting some chances to break a big one. We saw it well I was at BSU with Anthony DiMarco and Terron "T Money" Sermon and even saw it last year with Eric a few times. It's always fun when the plays work like we hope, but this was one time I would've been okay with him not breaking the big one."
Despite his earlier fumble, Kenyon Enis would get the opportunity to punch in the 3 yd score (his 6th of the season) as Texas Tech extends their lead to (42-34).

Still armed with 2 timeouts and 1:37 play, Clemens was looking make something happen. He started with a 25 yd pass to RS FR Owen Hagans (90 Ovr).

It was the former 4* Recruit from Cibolo Texas's 5th catch of the day and team leading 30th of the season. However now it would be his last, as 5* Freshman CB Matt Sorah makes it so. Sorah would register 3 deflections on the final series with the last just inches away from turning into a INT but the damage was done. TCU was out of timeouts and out of time.

                FINAL SCORE TTU-42 TCU-34

                KEY PLAYERS
QB GNK- 30/35 298 yds 5 TD, 39 yds rushing
                RB K. Enis-11 carries 51 yds 1 TD 1 Fumble

                WR T. Mayo-3 rec 121 yds 3 TD
                WR. F. Ramsour-1 rec 14 yds 1 TD

TEXAS TECH MOVES TO 5-0 AS THEY CONTINUE TO KEEP A STRONGHOLD ON THE #1 RANKING GOING INTO THEIR WEEK 6 BYE

To be completely honest, I am not sure if the game is 100% amazing but for not having a new game for 10 years and finally having a game for the new system and not having to dust off the old 360, it is getting my full attention. I have played some much COD the past 3 years, I am sorta just burnt out, so its been fun to be able to come home from work and get in a couple games each night (luckily my wife is a gamer too) and I have been home quite a bit on the weekends this past month. I however have 5 Disc Golf events over the next 6 weeks so this Saturday will be my last full weekend home for awhile. so updates will slow down for sure.

If I can keep GNK's INT # under control this year, I really think he has a solid shot at a Heisman. Schumacher is just 1 of many weapons he has. Manzo has been unreal I can't believe I didn't use him last year, but I tend to lean on giving Seniors who are higher rated more PT especially my 1st year with a team. Manzo has shown he is ready for WR1 next year and Fianu my current #5 actually will be be a very solid #2.

QB's escaping my rush and having some wheels is a weakness when playing a 3-2-6 Defense. It takes some time for the DB's to break off their routes and get back to make the tackle. Typically it hasn't been as big of a problem in with BSU but my LB's are not speed demons at TTU like they were at BSU.

I really didn't expect to have the success I did last year. I really did think 8 wins was a pretty solid goal. With 7 games against Top-25 preseason teams this year, I expect we will have alot of close ones, UNT and Rice gave me better games then I expected but they are both 81 Overall and Sam Houston and UTSA actually were both 82 Overall rated as high as Kansas State who has actuall made the Playoffs in 2 of my 5 seasons.

                      WEEK 6 TEAM UPDATE

Welcome back to another episode of "The Brand" as we catch you up on all the news regarding Texas Tech Football during their Week 6 "Bye" Week.

TTU PREPARES NOT 1, NOT 2 BUT 3 HEISMAN CAMPAIGNS

With 5 games in the books, the Heisman race is heating up and Texas Tech currently has 3 players listed on the 2029 Heisman Watch list in the Top-5.

SO QB George "GNK" Nkansah leads the way holding the #1 spot over Tennessee SR QB Steven Hollenback and Penn State SR QB Jean Campanaro.

GNK through 5 games has thrown for 1492 yds (298.4 avg) with 19 TD's and just 3 INT, well completing 68% of his pass's. He has also added 204 yds and 2 TD's on the ground.

                      Coach Scott
"Obviously the INT #'s speak volumes in GNK's improvement this season.. Hollenbach (1370 yds 17 TD 1 INT, 258 yds rushing 5 TD) and Campanaro (1453 yds 17 TD 0 INT, 131 yds rushing 1 TD) are both having great years too. The Vol's are also 5-0 and Penn State is 4-1 for a reason. It's going to be a tight race all year, but I like our kid's chances"
Well QB's hold the Top-3 spots, the final 3 belong to teammates JR Adrian Manzo (28 rec 615 yds 22.0 avg, 7 TD's) is having a breakout year well SR Eric Schumacher (22 rec 312 yds 6 TD's) is looking to show the nation last year (23 receiving 2 rushing) TD's were no fluke.

                      Coach Scott
"The crazy part these 2 guy's are not the only ones putting up big #'s for us. Fellow WR Miguel Cashman has 20 rec for 331 yds and 2 TD's well TE Trevor Kugbila has 19 rec for 192 yds and 4 scores. We love spreading the ball around here and make it a point not to try and prioritize 1 player over another"
WILL TTU RUN THE TABLE AND REPEAT??

Well TTU's current 5-0 record and #1 ranking has many fan's believing that another National Championship is coming to Lubbock, Coach Scott isn't so sure. Texas Tech currently has 4 road games against a combined record of 13-4 including Nebraska who is currently 4-0 and #4 in the nation in Week 8 plus (3-1) #13 Texas A&M and #17 Texas.. Not to mention a home game against current #18 (3-1) Oklahoma

                      Coach Scott
"Say what you want about the SEC and Big Ten or even the Pac-12, with this new Big 12 conference I believe it's the toughest in college football. I have already told our guy's we can't look ahead over anyone. Our motto is 1 week at a time and that's the way we have to play"

                      COACH SCOTT AIMS BIG

Texas Tech has 17 Seniors this year including 12 on Offense, 4 on Defense and Punter T. Pride. .

After landing 3-5* Recruits last season, Coach Scott and the TTU staff shared their first look at the Red Raiders Top-35 target list that included 13-5* Recruits, 2 of those have already verbally committed elsewhere (5* RB #2 Overall/#1 RB, Jabari Cherry-Notre Dame) and 5* DT #4 Overall/#2 DT, Tyrese Keenan-Miami FL).

That leaves 11 left with 6 of them currently listing TTU as their #1 school and the other #5 listing TTU as their #2.

                      FS Stefon Freeland-Carthage TX (#7 Overall/#1 TX/#1 FS)
                      WR Rico Hatfield-Argyle TX (#10 Overall/#2 TX/#1 WR)
                      ATH Antwan Allgeier-Bixby OK (#11 Overall/#1 OK/#1 ATH)
                      QB Alani Levrone-Manvel TX (#16 Overall/#3 TX/#3 QB)
                      RE Enrique Stoneburner-McKinney TX (#22 Overall/#4 TX/#3 DE)
                      QB Garrison Irving-Peoria AZ (28 Overall/#1 AZ/#7 QB)

all currently have TTU #1, with Allgeirer and Stonburner already making visits during the TCU game.

When asked about QB's Levrone and Irving, Coach Scott had this to say.

"Honestly both these kids have a very different style of play the GNK, and honestly in today's college game, you have to have 2-3 QB's who can play at a Elite level if you plan on being one of those 12 teams playing for a National Title. We don't know what GNK's future holds. Will he at TTU for 4 years? Maybe or Maybe not. Also backup QB Nate Sun is a Junior who honestly could test the transfer portal next year. He has the skills to be a starting QB for probably half the schools in the nation. So it's my job to make sure I have the next guy up."

                      LE Damien Bettis-Bradenton FL (#6 Overall/#2 FL/#1 DE) (Iowa State #1)
                      CB John Baggett-Power Springs GA (#8 Overall/#2 GA/#1 CB) (Ohio State #1)
                      DT Owen Schable-Aurora CO (#14 Overall/#1 CO/#4 DT) (Nebraska #1)
                      LG Marco Poujade-Las Vegas NV (#24 Overall/#1 NV/#1 G) (TCU #1)

all the TTU #2. Schable and Poujade both made official visits well the other 3 are all currently scheduled for a Week 10 visit when TTU plays the Sooners.

                      Coach Scott
"After having the #5 Overall Class last year, we set the ball pretty high this year.. We are very happy with the current team and don't want to encourage to many transfers in the off-season to open more scholarships, so for now our main goal was quality over quanity.. We believe with some Hard sells and really hammering down on some of these kids top priorities we can land 4-5 of these guy's. Add them to a class with 8-10-4* and a couple 3* guy's in depth needs and we really feel like we can set this team up for the future"

Well landing 5* Recruits is what schools dream of, making sure you have the right talent to fill the shoes of graduating players and securing depth at need positions are huge too.

One of those spots is RB. With current start Keyon Enis and backup M. Dolegala set to graduate, Coach Scott has his eyes on a trio of 4* backs.

Jeremy Nagy-Arilington TX (#144 Overall/#24 TX/#15 RB) and Ben Crozier-Dallas TX (#215 Overall/#37 TX/#20 RB) both currently have TTU #1 but neither player has scheduled a official visit.

Nagy has offers from Oklahoma State and Baylor, well Crozier has offers from Tulsa, SMU, Houston and Rice.

Fellow 4* Malik Tanner-Broken Arrow OK (#270 Overall/#4 OK/#24 RB) is currently a long shot. He has recently moved TTU down to #4 on his list with Arkansas #1, followed by K-State, and Okie State.. All 3 schools are offering and all 3 have official visits lined up before Tanner's Week 13 visit against Baylor.

Another need depth position is WR. With 3 of the Red Raiders current Top-5 set to graudate including Schumacher and Cashman (#1/#2). Scott has targeted 4 other players besides 5* R. Hattfield.

                      4* Bobby Byron-Tampa FL (#143 Overall/#11 FL/#16 WR
                      3* Ben Gonzales-Grand Praire TX (#510 Overall/#76 TX/#69 WR)
                      3* Eric Lopes-Rosenburg TX (#524 Overall/#78 TX/#71 WR)
                      3* Josh Enriquez-Cibolo TX (#557 Overall/#84 TX/#76 WR)

                      Coach Scott
"All 4 of these guy's fit what we are looking for (6'2 or bigger) and our scouts really like Lopes (3* Green Gem).. In a ideal world we would love to land Hattfield, Byron and Lopes and just replace 3 for 3. We will see what happens."

                          BOISE STATE DROPS TO 2-3

Not even a full 2 years away from winning Back to Back National Titles and Boise State is off to their worst start since 2021.

A Week 1 Loss to Cincinnati (20-3) was followed up by a big win over Washington (43-28), but then the Broncos lost to Northwestern (24-14) in Week 3 and then after a Week 5 Bye lost to Arizona State (31-7) in Week 6.

Reports out of Boise is Coach Danielson is slowing losing the locker room. The Road doesn't get any easier for the Broncos as they play @ Stanford in Week 7 followed by a home came vs Cal in Week 8 before starting Pac-12 North play.

vs #8 Oregon in Week 9
                          @#15 UCLA in Week 10
vs Washington State in Week 11
@ Oregon State in week 12
                          @ Utah in Week 13..

Could Spencer Danielson get fired despite winning a National Title with TTU and the Red Raiders looking like another playoff run this year.???

                            MUSTANGS COME UP SHORT!!!

                            GAME RECAP

Sometimes coming off a bye week can bite you in the butt and other times it the extra rest is just what your team needs. For Texas Tech it was the the first one.

For a team leading the nation in scoring at 40.8 PPG, they sure didn't look like it tonight as SMU leads (6-0) after the 1st Quarter comes to a end. Both teams would trade FG's early in the 2nd Quarter before TTU would finally find the endzone as GNK connects with SO WR Salesi Finau on a 10 yd score. to tie the game (9-9). Freshman Kenny Bean would come on for the Xtra point but the kick is wide right.. Neither team would do anything over the final 3 minutes of the half as we go into the locker room tied up (9-9).

After failing to produce much explosive offense in the 1st Half, GNK would take just 2 plays to open up the 2nd half before putting the Red Raiders in the endozne as he connects with Schumacher on a 63 yd bomb to make it (16-9). Then after a 3 and out, GNK goes back to the air and finds Schumacher again for TD #2 extending the lead to (23-9). SMU would answer back with their 4th FG of the day to make it (23-12). A GNK INT would give the ball right back to the Mustangs and SR QB Marcus Jackson (81 Ovr) would make them pay hitting JR WR E. Cole (82 Ovr) for a 33 yd score. SMU would leave the offense out on the field and Jackson would keep it himself making it (23-20).

Bouncing back from his early INT, GNK would throw his 4th TD of the day this time finding JR WR A. Manzo on a 29 yd pass and catch to make it (30-20) early in the 4th. Still (30-20) with under 3 minutes to play it looked like TTU was going to cruise to their 6th win of the season, but a Kenyon Enis Fumble with 2:18 to play breathed new life into the Mustangs comeback attempts as Jackson leads the offense back onto the field with 3 timeouts.

The Texas Tech D would play hard and forced SMU to use all of those timeouts and most of the clock before Jackson would finally get the Mustangs in the endzone finding his big FR TE James Robinson (78) for a 6 yd score to make it (30-26). Again Jackson and the offense would stay on the field and again the Mustangs were successful converting the 2pt play to make it (30-28) with 18 seconds to play.

Out of timeouts, SMU had no choice but to attempt the onside kick and for the 1st time in 5 1/2 seasons against Coach Scott, the opposing team was successful, as the Mustangs recover the kick. Already with 4 FG's on the day SR DeMarco Stokke would come out and attempt a 55 yd kick (his long for the day was 46). The snap was good, the Stokke had plenty of leg, but the kick sails left... Texas Tech had survived the upset.

                            FINAL SCORE TTU-30 SMU-28

#11 Auburn falls (28-26) to previous (0-6) Tulane. With the loss the Tigers fall out of the Top-25 all together..

#12 Cincinnati came up short in their upset bid over #3 Michigan (35-3) and falls to #19 in the loss.

#15 Texas defeats #16 Oklahoma in the Red River Shootout (24-16). With the win the Longhorns jump up to #10 well the Sooners drop to #21

#20 Ohio State loses to UConn and is out as is #24 NC State and #25 LSU also both losers.

Georgia Tech jumps into the Top-25 as they stay perfect moving to 7-0 with a (31-14) win over UCF. They will put their undefeated record on the line against Florida in Week 8

Illinois jumps into the Top-25 at #220 with a (24-20) win over Sam Houston improving to 5-1 on the year.

Iowa State is in at #22 with their 6-1 record and Florida joins at #24 with their 5-1 record.

(4-2) Louisiana started the year #25 and now they are back coming in at #25. They will take on #14 Arkansas this week.

man SMU put you guys to the test. Lovin the GNK heisman hype.

Interesting potential setup with Boise struggling. Dream scenario would obviously be an undefeated season at TTU, then a return to Boise with GNK following for a 3rd title lol

RED RAIDERS FACE TOUGHEST CHALLENGE YET!!!

For Sophomore QB George "GNK"NKansah, facing #9 Nebraska in Lincoln would be his biggest challenge yet. Yes even bigger then facing Michigan at home in the National Championship..

It was a "Sea of Red" Sold out crowd of 85,000 on hand as #1 Texas Tech came to town.

                                Coach Scott
"There is a reason why Memorial Stadium and the crowd is ranked as the #8 Toughest place to play in the country. It was so loud I couldn't even hear my own thoughts."
                                GAME RECAP

This was a game that featured 879 Total yards of Offense and a whopping 49 1st Downs including 32 by TTU, as Texas Tech tries to beat the Cornhuskers with their own gameplan.

Despite all the yards and 1st Downs the 1st Quarter came to a end with just 7 points on the scoreboard as TTU leads (7-0) Nebraska attempted just 2 pass's in the opening period of play as SR QB Sam Kunalic (87 Ovr) completes 1/2 for 9 yds. Nebraska would run the ball 13 times over 2 series but were forced to punt both times.

For TTU, Coach Scott made a pretty major change to start the game as SO RB Sal Trejo made the start in replace of SR Kenyon Enis.. With Trejo leading the way (7 carries 43 yds) TTU used a balance attack with GNK finishing the 1st Quarter a perfect 5/5 including the 14 yd TD pass to A. Manzo.

The 2nd Quarter featured more scoring and lot's of mistakes, as TTU is called for a total of 6 penalties in the 2nd Quarter (5 Holding calls and 1 Offsides) well GNK goes from being perfect in the 1st Quarter to throwing 2 costly INT's in the 2nd including 1 in the final 38 seconds of the half that leads to a 38 yd FG to give the Cornhuskers the (17-14) lead.

Another INT by GNK (3rd on the day) would kill one scoring drive, but the Texas Tech D comes up big shutting down the Cornhuskers rushing attack to force 3 punts in the Quarter which leads to a pair of FG's by Kenny Bean to give TTU the (20-17) lead going into the 4th.

The entire 4th Quarter felt like TTU was playing against not just the Cornhuskers Defense but also the entire official crew.. 4 more holding penalties, a phantom fumble by GNK and another pair of INT's would lead to the Corn Huskers taking a (34-20) lead with 4 minutes to play in the game.

                                Coach Scott
"I have coached now for 5 years and I have watched alot of football in my lifetime.. This was by far the wort Officials I have ever seen. I will be placing a complaint with the Big 12 and with the NCAA after the game. We were called for 14 penalties in the game... Nebraska was called for 2.. 2 of those holding calls were on plays of over 30 yds. Replay showed GNK's knee was down on the fumble and both the INT's were clearcut pass interference by the Defense. Schumacher was shoved to the ground on 1 of them. I am pretty sure a blind man could've even seen that one"
Despite everything thrown at them TTU never quit, as the Red Raiders went back to the ground game as Trejo punches in a 5 yd TD run to make it (34-27) Then it was the Texas Tech "D" doing what they do as they create their own turnover as OLB Brian Gibbs picks off Kunalic with 2:38 to play.

Still armed with all 3 timeouts, GNK would lead the Red Raiders on a 11 play drive capped off by a 13 yd TD run by himself to make it (34-33) with 17 seconds to play. Coach Scott would leave the offense on the field, hoping to maybe get the Cornhuskers called for offsides. It didn't work, so he called the timeout and sent Bean in to tie the game. (34-34).

Nebraska didn't even try and do anything in regulation as they run out the clock and head to Overtime. Of course Nebraska wins the toss and elects to play Defense.

The Officials working overtime were not happy. They felt like they did their best to give the Cornhuskers the win, so they just decided it was time for more yellow flags. Back to back holding calls on TTU would end up forcing Bean out for the Field Goal to make it (37-34). Nebraska now had the chance to win it with a touchdown. SR SS Conner Depaola did his best to make sure that wasn't going to happen, as he records back to back sacks.. It was his 14th and 15th tackle on the day, as he forces the Cornhuskers to kick their own FG.

Now it was Nebraska's turn to start on offense. Again the TTU D comes up big with stops forcing a 3rd and 8. Kunalic takes the snap and rolls right. He can't find anyone open and takes off, but is hit short of the 1st down by CB Matt Sorah. The ball is out, but Nebraska's SR Center Marquise Minnis is there as he scoops up the loose ball and rumbles in for the touchdown.. Coach Scott can't believe what he just watched. It's like even the universe was against them. Nebraska would convert the 2pt play...

Texas Tech was left with only 1 option. Score and convert.. Nebraska and the zebra's had other plans. 3 straight stops by the Defense set up a 4th and 8. TTU lined up with 2 receivers to the left and 3 to the right. GNK took the snap and rolled to his right.. The blocks were there, he had a wide open lane, and tucks and runs.. He dives for the 1st down.. Even that play caller says it's a 8 yd gain, but the officials rule him short... The Ball game is over..

The Aggies are coming off a (45-0) win on the road @ Baylor in Week 8 after their disappointing loss to K-State in Week 7.
