I honestly had no idea that the team would be this good. I liked GNK's potential but i didn't think the Defense would be able to stop teams like they have. I also figured it would take a few years before guy's would start looking at TTU as a potential contender, but winning games despite the fact TTU is coming off a 4 win season and back to back 5 win seasons the previous 2 years, the School is already a A for Championship Contender, despite Program Tradition being a C+. I do like the fact that the success I had as a OC transfers to me as a Head Coach, so my Coaching Prestige is a A-, and that has been a deal breaker for alot of these players

        [SIZE="4"]4 QUARTERS OF FOOTBALL/SIZE]

It's a good thing that football games are played with 4 Quarters cause Texas Tech looked pretty dang ugly in 3 out of 4.

        GAME RECAP

Despite coming off back to back wins over programs, TTU has originally counted as potential loss's at the beginning of the year. Despite being now ranked #18 in the Top-25 Poll and Despite being 7-1 on the season, TTU looked more like the team that won 4 games last season in today's matchup with the 3 win Baylor Bears.

BU jumped out to a early (7-0) lead in the 1st Quarter and extended that lead to (17-7) at the half as TTU failed to produce much offense turning the ball over twice and managing just 22 yds on the ground.

Baylor would open up the 2nd half with the ball to make things worse and scored on the opening series to extend their lead to (24-7) but that's when the light switch came on for the Red Raiders. GNK first completes a 80 yd TD bomb to Schumacher to make it (24-14), then it was reserve CB RS FR Keke Guy coming up huge with a INT to get the ball back to the offense and GNK delivers again finding LJ Johnson for a 24 yd score to make it (24-21) still with over 6 minutes to play in the 3rd.

Baylor would try and regroup but facing a 4th and 1, the TTU Defense comes up big as SS Peyton Morgan stops the runner in the backfield for a turnover on downs. Back with the ball GNK goes back to work like the QB we have seen the past 2 games as he hits Shumacher for his 2nd TD catch of the day to put the Red Raiders up (28-24).

The score would remain that until about midway through the 4th before Baylor would make it a 1 point game with a 49 yd FG by FR PK Jimmy Pineiro. (28-27). After 3 quick scores in the 3rd, the TTU is now plagued by over throws and drops as the Red Raiders are forced to punt twice in the final 4 minutes but each time the Defense steps up first with a forced punt of their own and then with a huge stop on 4th and 4 as Baylor runs out of time for the comeback.

        FINAL SCORE TEXAS TECH-28 BAYLOR-27

        KEY PLAYERS
        QB-GNK-21/40 375 yds 4 TD 1 INT, 36 yds rushing
        RB K. Enis-11 carries 35 yds (3.2 avg) 1 Fumble
        WR M.Cashman-8 rec 156 yds 1 TD
        WR E. Schumacher-4 rec 117 yds 2 TD
WR LJ Johnson-4 rec 63 yds 1 TD
        TE T. Kugbila-3 rec 27 yds

        UP NEXT

TTU now (8-1) on the year and ranked #12 in the nation will host #13 (6-3) Texas in their final home game of the season at Jones AT&T..

TTU gonna show Texas they're the new kings of Texas.

How is the conference looking? I'm guessing with only 1 loss you should be in line for the Big 12 title?

If everything plays out like I hope (I still need to win some games) I will end up with a rematch with TCU for the Conference Championship.. I simmed out just to see what could happen and if I can win out I can grab a Top-4 seed with the a Win over TCU and a loss against TCU still left me in the playoffs as a #11 seed.

I don't know if it will still happen but it was pretty funny in the one sim USC's HC left for the NFL and USC ends up offering Coach Scott the job. l I looked at USC roster just for fun and they had 13 QB's on their roster including 5 Seniors. Dev's need to fix things like that. I have never really paid that close attention to other teams rosters.

In the other sim where I was the #3 seed, I was offered Penn State HC and actually was scheduled to play Penn State in Round 2 of the playoffs.

The sad part is in both sims, for some reason Boise State starts 8-1 and ends up losing to Oregon then loses to both WSU and Utah and ends up 9-4 and miss's the playoffs. In one of the sims I went to see what guy's got drafted and BSU ended up with 10 guy's who joined the transfer portal including WR1 Alex Harris. But sadly not a single guy would allow me to recruit them to TTU, I was locked out of everyone and Harris originally from WA ended up at WSU. Several guy's bolted for LSU and 1 guy even left for Oregon..

              TEXAS TECH WEEK 10 UPDATE

Welcome back to Episode #2 of "The Brand". I feel like the title say's it all. It's a "New Era" in TTU Football. We are honored to have Head Coach Ryne Scott with us again to give us a inside look at what's going on with the Texas Red Raiders.

              Interviewer=TB

TB-Coach coming off 2 back to back National Titles as the OC in Boise, you were apart of a program that went 55-7 over 4 seasons including a perfect 16-0 season in 2026 to come here and take over a program that gone 21-28 over those same 4 years. Reports are that the boosters and Team president set the ball for success for you at 5 games in Year 1 and you yourself thought that getting 6 or 7 would mean success in your eyes. How does it feel to be sitting here right now #12 in the nation with a (8-1) record many people feeling like you have a legit shot at beat Texas this coming Saturday.

Coach Scott- To be honest it's unreal. I honestly had no idea we could be this good. I knew when I hired Coach McCardell that he was a solid defensive coach and I knew we had some talent on the Defense, but with the amount of injuries that we have had this season with those key guy's I still can't stop talking about the job these young men have been doing.

TB- Coach I am glad you brought up the "D". Of course I want to talk to you about GNK and the Offense but I have to point out. It's not very often you find a team having success when you look in the stats column and see the Top-5 tacklers on the team are all DB's.

Coach Scott- Well I think you can credit that to the fact that most of the game we typically have 5 to 6 DB's on the field at all times and 2 of those guy's SS Peyton Morgan (51 Tackles, 3 TFL, 2 INT) and Conner DePalola (51 Tackles, 2 TFL, 6 Pass Deflections) line up anywhere from 20 yds deep in the secondary to on the line blitzing the QB, or sometimes its over the middle covering the slot WR or TE. Those guy's are playing their hearts out. But it's not just them . The Fowler Brothers have been huge especially with Collins out.

TB-Coach I want to talk a minute about RS SO Josh Baadknews (85 Ovr). Josh is listed as a DE, but so far this season we have seen him line up on on the outside as a DE, in the middle as a DT and back outside playing OLB, playing in all 9 games and currently leads the team in TFL with 8.

Coach Scott-Yeah Josh is a beast and is last name speaks volumes to the opposing team's QB. This kid is "Bad News" and you don't want to see his face in yours. We love Josh and to be honest he has been our MVP. We have had a rash of injuries and when someone goes down we just plug in Josh where we nee him. Honestly I wasn't sure how a guy 6'3 284lbs was going to play Linebacker but he has shocked us all. The guy flat moves down the field (82 speed, 87 Acceleration)

TB- Coach lets talk GNK. First off why GNK, but after that I got to say the kid seem like the real deal. He is currently #2 in the nation in passing yards (3029) and #2 in TD's (33) but also has the 2nd most INT's with (15). How big was that for him to get a chance to spend time with Patrick Mahomes and to have Patrick at the Houston game?

Coach Scott- Okay so why GNK.. Well I got to be honest it's because half the staff here wasn't sure how to pronounce his last name and I am not sure without looking it up I could even tell you how to spell it. George told us his friends from Junior High including teachers in his school starting referring to him as GNK and it just stuck. As far as his stats go, I watched his film of him in high school. He was the Oregon Gatorade Player of the year. We wanted him badly at BSU but ended up with Willie Smoker as our QB recruit instead. Willie's having a pretty solid year too (2190 yds with 23 TD and 8 INT and has the Broncos 7-2). Would I like him to cut down the INT's? Of course I do, but he is a Freshman and he is slinging it most nights 40 times a game. It's not like our O-Line play has been exceptional... As far as having Patrick visit.. I think it was great. The guy's on the team love him and I encourage all the past Texas Tech greats to come back and it helps when we are winning.

TB-Coach speaking of 0-Line, I hear you have a pretty big announcement in terms of this years recruiting class....

Coach Scott. I do.. I am proud to announce that Texas Tech has just landed our 3rd 5* Recruit, which ties is with the nations best (Georgia 3 and and Oregon 3). Deontary Myers called me actually after the Houston game and announced.. Then about 5 minutes later I got 3 more calls, as we landed a pair of projected RT's to pair with Deontary and we also got a call form DE Brian Guillermo.

Besides Myers (5*, #1 Overall/#1 Texas/#1 Tackle), TTU also landed

4* Larry Brooks (#94 Overall/#7 T/#1 CO). Brooks is listed at 6'5 303lbs from Auroa CO and had the Buff's #2 on his listed followed by Nebraksa and BSU. Brooks could transition to guard depending on how things go with the rest of the class.

4* Ahmad Wooten (#241 Overall/#14 T/#32 TX) is 6'6 300lbs and is from Friendswood TX. He had scholarship offfers to both Baylor and Houston but is canceling both trips.

4* Brian Guillermo (#240 Overall/#12 DE/#1 NM) is 6'4 255lb and is from Clovis New Mexico. He had scholarship offers from Colorado, Arizona and Arizona State and still had Texas as his #5 school

WIth the current class of 7 players (3-5*,4-4*) TTU has already secured a Top-20 class.

                WEEK 10 TOP-25 UPDATE

Georgia is still holding strong to the #1 Spot as they improve to 9-0 including their win over Auburn.

TCU has moved into the #2 spot as they too are currently 9-0 on the season coming off a (42-24) win over UTSA. The Horn Frogs will play Baylor in Week 11 and finish their season on the road with (5-4) Houston and (6-3) SMU. As long as they win 1 of those 3 games they should lock up the South Division.

(8-1) Auburn despite their loss to Georgia is #3 after a (37-22) win over #7 LSU this week. The Tigers take on #17 Arkansas in Week 11.

(8-1) Michigan drops from #3 to #4. The Wolverines just beat EMU (42-7) and will take on instate rival Michigan State in Week 11

(8-1) Kansas State is #5. Th Wildcats are coming off a win over Illinois and will take on Oklahoma State this week.

(10-0) Oregon drops from #4 to #6 despite the best record in the nation. The Ducks beat BSU in Week 9 handing the Broncos their 2nd loss of the season and are coming off a (27-14) win over Washington State. They will have Week 11 off (Bye) before returning to action with (6-4) Washington on the road in Week 12 and (4-5) BYU at home in Week 13.

(8-1) Notre Dame moves up 2 spots from #9 to #7 despite a BYE week. They return to action Week 11 @ Louisville.

(8-1) Kentucky also is up 2 from #10 to #8 after a (37-17) win over Iowa. They play @ Purdue in Week 11.

(7-1) Nebraska moves up from #14 back to the Top-10 @ #9 with a (21-17) win over Okie State. They will take on Tulsa in Week 11.

(7-2) Wisconsin rounds out the Top-10 at #10 coming off a (62-20) win over Western Michigan. The Badgers will play Central Michigan in Week 11.

(7-2) Boise State moves from #13 to #11 with a (27-13) win @ Washington. The Broncos will now face Washington State on the road before finishing their year at home on "The Blue" with games against Oregon State and Utah.
With Oregon currently undefeated and holding the win over BSU, the Broncos could miss the Pac-12 Championship for the first time since joining the conference 3 years ago.

(8-1) Texas Tech jumps up 6 spots from #18 to #12 with their win over Baylor. The Red Raiders now face their biggest opponent since TCU as they host #13 Texas for Senior Night and a chance at a Division Championship.

(6-3) Texas. The Longhorns are coming off a (28-20) win over Texas State. Texas can't afford another loss, so that makes their Week 11 matchup with TTU even more important.

(6-3) LSU. The Tigers drop from #7 to #14 after their loss to Auburn. They will take on Missouri in Week 11.

(8-2) Penn State is #15. The Lions are coming off a (28-24) loss to Cincinnati in Week 10. They will play @ Temple in Week 11.

(9-0) Maryland is #16 The Terps are coming off a (31-17) win over Liberty and play @ Navy in Week 11.

(7-2) Arkansas. Jumps into the Top-25 at #17 after a (28-23) win over Alabama. Now they get to face #3 Auburn for a chance to make a move at a playoff seed.

(7-2) Syracuse is #18. The Orange are coming off a (45-20) win over Old Dominion and will face #23 Cincinnati in Week 11.

(7-3) Miami FL) is #19 .The Hurricanes are still holding out hope they can climb high enough for a playoff seeding after their (27-10) win over Florida.

(5-3) Florida. The Gators were #8 before losing to unranked Miami. Now the Hurricanes are 1 spot ahead of them as they fall all the way to #20.

(7-2) NC State. The Wolfpack are #21 and are coming off a (24-19) win over South Carolina. They play @ Charlotte in Week 11

(8-1) Toledo is #22. The MudHens just beat Akron (24-17) and could be this year's UConn as they look to finish strong and secure a playoff seed.

(6-3) Cincinnati is #23. The Bearcats started the year with a win over BSU but have struggled of late and after winning the Big Ten Championship and getting a Top 4 seed in the playoffs, they will likely do neither this year.

(7-2) Florida State is #24. The Seminoles made the playoffs back in 2024 but havn't been much of a national power since. Maybe they can win out and make a run at the #12.

(7-2) Tennessee is #25. The Vols are coming off a (34-14) win over Miss State and will take on Southern Miss in Week 11.

Ohio State #15, Utah #17, North Carolina #21, Charlotte #24 all fell out of the polls after loss's in Week 10.

                PLAYOFF SEEDING

The Week 10 projections currently have

#1 Georgia, #2 TCU, #3 Michigan and #4 Kansas State getting 1st Round Byes.

Auburn is #5 and projects a 1st Round matchup with #12 Texas Tech with the winning facing KSU

Oregon is #6 and would play #11 Boise State for a chance at #3 Michigan

Notre Dame is #7 and would play #10 Wisconsin with the winner taking on #2 TCU

#8 Kentucky would face #9 Nebraska with the winner facing #1 Georgia.

weird about all the BSU players leaving after 1 year. I wonder if you leaving and the play style changing had a part in it?

Would've been great to have a reunion with Harris with GNK throwing to him lol

Pretty happy with the class. To be honest I originally was going to try and sign like 12-15 guys' but now with the class being Top-20 before end season recruiting and so many scholarships available I am probably going to try and push signing a bunch of the 3* guy's without offers and go for a Top-5 class so I can get the achievement toward Elite Recruiter.. It probably means cutting like 10 guy's off the current roster at the end of the year, but I didn't recruit those kids so I don't really feel like I should have loyalty toward guy's who I will likely never play. Sorta a Deon Sanders move but oh well.

As far as BSU goes, it was just a sim. Hopefully when I actually finalize my season that won't happen but we will see. I personally would love it if the game had the option for coaches to recruit players to join them at schools, and I think it's sorta cool when players do leave after a coaching change. It sucks for the school but it happened IRL with Washington and I know that the Oregon State QB left the Beavers and went to Michigan State to follow his coach, so I think it would be cool to have in the game.

LONGHORNS SPOIL SENIOR DAY AS THEY LEAVE LUBBOCK WITH THE WIN IN OVERTIME!!!

Coach Scott stuck with Senior tradition as Texas Tech hosted Texas for their last home game of the season making it Senior night as 5 of the 9 active Seniors got a opportunity to start their final home came at Jones AT&T.

(Basically it was SR WR Trey Jackson going from WR4 to WR2 and TE David Cortez getting the start over JR Trevor Kugbila)

                      GAME RECAP

Texas won the coin toss and elected to kick and GNK wasted little time putting points on the scoreboard finding Trey Jackson with his first TD of the season as the senior hauls in a 63 yd bomb. For Jackson it was just his 3rd reception of the season.

The Longhorns answered back as JR QB Davarius Loyd (84 Ovr) found his FR TE Siaki Umana (87 Ovr) for a 17 yd strike on the following series as the game is tied (7-7). Texas would later kick a 48 yd FG by FR Shaydon Mims (69) to take the (10-7) lead into the 2nd Quarter.

TTU would struggle to convert 3rd downs on multiple series through the 2nd Quarter well the Longhorn rushing attack got things going with SO RB R. Livings (82) adding a 32 yd TD to put Texas up (17-7) going into the half.

To make matters worse Texas opened up the 2nd half with the ball and Livings was back at it scoring his 2nd TD of the day as the Longhorns extended the lead to (24-7). TTU still struggling to convert on 3rd downs would settle for a 23 yd FG by Wade Eckert just to break the scoring drought to make it (24-10) with 3 minutes to play in the 3rd Quarter.

TTU's Defense had been pretty solid all year against the run but struggled with Livings today until finally getting a 3rd down stop to get the ball back but the Texas D continued to smoother the Red Raiders ground game as well and TTU again was forced to punt.

Texas Tech hadn't given up a special teams TD all season in fact but that streak was over now as SR WR Freddie Dubose (86) takes the punt 70 yds for the return extending Texas's lead to 31-10) as we head to the 4th.

The script was flipped, as GNK looked to help write his own Hollywood ending to the game, as the Freshman QB catches fire.

GNK opened up the 4th Quarter scoring by finding Jackson once again for his 2nd TD of the day to make it (31-17). Texas just looking to run time off the clock, did a pretty good job until they were forced to punt and once again GNK came out fired up finding JR WR Erik Schumacher for the score to make it (31-24) with 4 mins to play in the half. Again Texas would look to run off some clock and again they did a pretty good job of it taking the ball all the way down to the 17 yd line before being faced with a 4th and 1 leaving just 1:18 to play as TTU calls their 2nd timeout. All UT had to do was kick a FG and the ball game was over. but the Longhorns hated for TTU was at a all time high I guess, because the offense came out. Livings took the handoff from Loyd but was stood up at the line as Peyton Morgan comes in to deliver the tackle in the backfield as TTU takes over on downs with 1:10 to play.

Armed with 1 timeout, TTU would line up with a empty backfield. GNK takes the snap was Texas rushes just 4 but the All-American Kwabena Casper (88 Ovr) breaks through the line and sacks GNK with a 12 yd loss.

The Red Raiders burn their final timeout. 58 seconds to play and 79 yds to go . GNK unfazed by the sack, joins Scott on the sideline. The play is picked and GNK goes to the line... The Freshman has made some big plays all year but none was bigger.. Texas brings the heat rushing 6, GNK rolls out of the pocket away from the pressure, he starts to take off and the DB's bite, as Schumacher gets past the Defense, GNK fires as the Red Raiders go 79 yds for the score. The Game is tied (31-31).

TTU wins the coin toss and elects to start on D. Jones AT&T is rocking.. The Longhorns can't pick up the First Down and settles for the FG... (34-31).

GNK leads his team back out on the field. GNK takes the snap. He sees TE David Cortez make his break.. He is open with no one around. He fires.. The pass is caught, but not by Cortez, its a Superman effort by MLB Lamarcus Gaskin (82) but he has done it, the Sophomore has just clinched the win for the Longhorns. The Crowd is stunned. Coach Scott can't believe it either...

                      THE IMPACT

With the win, Texas takes the lead for the North Division and a chance to play TCU once again for the American/Big 12 Title, they also jump to #8 in the Top-25 rankings.

With the loss Texas Tech drops to (8-2) on the season and #18 in the Top-25 rankings. CTP Playoff projections still show TTU as a potential #11/#12 seed for the playoffs if they can win out..

                      DESPITE THE LOSS

Even though the Red Raiders lost off the field they did win a small consolation prize off the field as Coach Scott lands 2 more 4* Recruits including QB Dee Fuller. Fuller is ranked #53 Overall and the #5 QB in this year's class. He hails from La Habra CA and is listed at 6'3 and 208lbs.

Joining Fuller with a Week 11 commitment was Offensive Guard Tyler Valdez. Valdez was ranked #51 Overall and the #1 Guard in this year's class, joining 3 earlier signings of Offensive Lineman giving Coach Scott alot of options for next year's line. Valdez is from Mesquite Texas and was the #9 Recruit in the state. He is listed at 6'3 322lbs.

Despite the signing of Fuller and the current play of FR QB GNK, reports are Coach Scott still has a scholarship offer on another 4* QB in this years class.

4* QB George Hahn is the #46 Overall Recruit in this year's class and the #4 QB. Hahn is from Coppell Texas and is the states #7 Overall recruit.. Like Fuller he is listed at 6'3 but weighs 234 lbs.

                      Coach Scott
"In the day of the transfer portal and the amount of injuries we have had this season you can never have enough depth. Despite GNK's success this season, the rest of our QB room is very unproven and there is alot of opportunities for guy's to earn that #2 job next season."

                        BOUNCE BACK WIN

After the disappointing overtime finish against Texas, Texas Tech traveled to take on the (3-7) Sam Houston Bearkats in Week 12. Sam Houston was coming off a (54-35) win over North Texas, just their 2nd conference win of the season (they also beat SMU (42-24).

                        GAME RECAP

TTU was fired up and motivated and the Bearkats stood no chance at Texas Tech knew their only hope for a playoff berth was winning and winning big to impress the ranking computers and selection committee...

TTU took a (14-0) lead in the 1st Quarter and a commanding (28-3) lead into the locker room, as GNK throws 4 TD's in the 1st half to go with 1 INT

Sam Houston would open up the 2nd half with the ball and finally find the endzone as SR QB DJ Bailey (79) throws his first TD of the day after 2 1st half INT's.

TTU would answer back though as GNK hits Erick Schumacher for his 4th TD reception on the day as Texas Tech leads (35-10) going into the 4th.

TTU would extend their leads to (42-10) as GNK hits backup TE David Ortiz for his 1st TD of the season, and GNK's 6th of the day.

Texas Tech got the ball back quickly after forcing a 4 and out but GNK's 2nd INT of the day gave it right back and the Bearkats capitalized as Bailey throws his 2nd TD of the day to make it (42-17).

For GNK (6 TD's) and Schumacher (4 TD's) it had been a solid day, but the duo wasn't done. The Duo would connect on a pass play that takes the ball down to the 4 yd line and on the next play GNK takes the snap well Schumacher runs a reverse taking the handoff for his first rushing TD of the season.

FINAL SCORE TEXAS TECH-49 SAM HOUSTON-17

                        TE E. Cortez-8 rec 80 yds 1 TD

SCHUMAKER NAMED CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK AND NATIONAL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

JR WR Eric Schumacher (85 Ovr) started the year as the teams #4 WR but was elevated to the #3 role when Chandlin Myers went down. Since moving up Schumacher however has been playing more like the teams #1. He leads the team with 57 rec for 1159 yds with 18 TD's receiving and 1 rushing.

                        RAIDERS MOVE UP TO #13

TTU has moved up 5 spots in this weeks CFP Top-25 ranking to #13 and is also #13 in both the Media and Coaches Poll.

                        LATEST PLAYOFF PROJECTION

Call it Destiny or Call it Fate, but right now the latest Playoff projections has TTU as the #11 seed playing Coach Scott's former team #6 Boise State in the 1st Round with the winner facing #2 TCU, one of 2 teams to have beaten Texas Tech this season.

                        Coach Scott
"I feel like the seeding committee likes to create games that will generated excitement and ratings. I guess these matchups would do that, but to be honest, my heart isn't ready to face BSU yet.. I am excited to see them winning still (currently 9-2, with Utah to go)"
                        UP NEXT

Projections mean nothing unless TTU takes care of business in Week 13. The Red Raiders still must beat OC Clarience Pruitt's former team if they want any chance at that playoff spot.

North Texas enters the game with their own agenda. The Mean Green are currently (5-6) and a win would make them bowl eligible.. UNT is coming off their own disappointing loss to Texas in Week 12. UNT led (21-0) at the half but Texas scored 24 unanswered in the 2nd half including 21 points in the 4th to beat the Mean Green (24-21)

RED RAIDERS CLOSE OUT WEEK 13 WITH #10!!

Coming off a 4-8 season just a year ago, Texas Tech fans and boosters would've told you they would've been happy with just a 6 win season and a potential bowl appearance. Coach Scott however has turned this program around quickly as the school wins it's 10th game of the season and moves up to #10 in the Top-25 rankings giving TTU a very high % that they will indeed be playing in the 12 team playoff this season and a big reason for that is the emergence of QB George Nkansah (GNK). Well the Freshman didn't break any school records, he did have one finish the regular season (not counting conference championship games or playoffs) as the Nation's leader in passing yards (4177) and and TD's (46) averaging a nation's best 348.1 yds per game

                            GAME RECAP

Texas Tech jumped out to a early (10-0) lead in the 1st Quarter vs North Texas as WR Eric Schumacher scores his 2nd rushing TD of the season and extended that lead to (20-3) going into the half, with FR Ed Robbins scoring his 1st rushing TD of the year.

UNT would make a run in the 3rd opening up the 2nd half with a score to make it (20-10) and then just before the end of the 3rd Quarter cut the lead to (20-17).

TTU however would score 3 times in the 4th as GNK looks to put it away and impress the playoff committee one more time.

                            FINAL SCORE TTU-41 UNT-17

                            KEY PLAYERS

                            AMERICAN CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP

#2 TCU finished their season with a perfect 8-0 record in conference play and a perfect 12-0 record.

Texas closed out their conference play going 7-1 finishing (9-3) Overall and #8 in the nation.

So now TTU will have to sit and watch the only 2 teams in the country that beat them this year battle it out for what will likely be a Top-4 seed and 1st Round Bye in the playoffs. The loser will likely join the Red Raiders int the playoffs as one of the best 12 teams in the nation.

                              CHAMPIONSHIP WEEK

Conference Championship Week will once again play a big factor into the 12 team playoffs and their seeding.

                              Currently 4 teams, #5 Kentucky (11-1), #7 Boise State (10-2), #10 Texas Tech (10-2) and #11 Auburn (10-2) are projected in.

(Kentucky and BSU should be safe but Auburn and TTU are on the bubble)

                              #13 Oklahoma (10-2) #14 Penn State (10-2), #14 Miami FL (9-3), #15 Florida State (10-2), #16 Cincinnati (9-3) and #17 NC State (10-2) are all left out currently.

However Miami, Cincinnati and NC State all hold their futures in their hands because all 3 are playing this week well the previous 4 teams are all currently sitting at home and watching how things play out.

#1 Georgia (12-0) will take on Miami in the SEC Title Game.
"A win by Miami should put them"

#2 TCU plays #7 Texas for the American Conference Title.
"Both schools should be in no matter the outcome"

#3 Michigan (11-1) will play Cincinnati for the Big Ten Title
"A win by the Bearcats should put them in but at whose expense?"

                              # 4 Oregon (12-0) plays (9-3) Stanford for the Pac-12 title
"The Ducks are in no matter what. Stanford is out as they are not even ranked"

#6 Notre Dame (11-1) plays #18 Tennessee (10-2) for the CUSA title.
"The Irish probably are in no matter what, I am not sure a Vol's victory would be enough to get them to #12 unless alot of other schools lose."

#9 Kansas State (10-2) plays unranked Iowa State for the Big 12 title
"A loss by the Wildcats would most likely drop them out, Iowa State has no chance of getting in"

#12 Maryland (12-0) will play #17 NC State (10-2) for the ACC title.
"Maryland is in for sure with a win. NC State I am not 100% sure they would jump high enough"

#16 Toledo (11-1) will play (7-5) UConn for the Mac title.
"Toledo has a outside chance with a win if other teams like Maryland, K-State, both lose.

(9-3) Louisiana will take on (8-4) Troy as the Ragin Cajuns looks for the 2nd straight Sun Belt Championship...
