    YOUR 2026 COLLEGE PLAYOFF BRACKET

Conference Championship Week indeed played a huge factor in this year's playoff bracket.

Tennessee went into the CUSA Championship ranked #19 and only moved up 3 spots to #16 in the Polls after defeating Notre Dame (27-21) but it was enough of a movie in the eye of those creating the brackets to award them the #12 Seed.

#1 Ohio State lost to #2 Michigan (34-28) in the Big Ten Title game and with that fell to #4 in the Poll's and the Buckeyes will be the #5 seed for the playoff

The winner will face #4 Clemson who defeated Liberty (38-13) to win the ACC title. The Tigers are #5 in the polls, but received the #4 seed and 1st Round Bye.

With the loss Liberty fell from #13 to #15 in the Poll's and is out of the playoff.

Despite not playing in the SEC title game and finishing the regular season (9-3), the Florida Gators jumped 3 spots from #12 to #9 in the Polls and claim the #9 seed in the playoff.

The Cal Bears lost to BSU in the Pac-12/14 title game finishing the year 11-2 but still held onto the #8 seed in the playoffs as they will take on the Gators.

The winner will face #1 seed Michigan.

Notre Dame was ranked #9 and projected for the #8/#9 seed before losing the CUSA Championship to Tennessee. With the loss the Irish drop to #11 in the Polls and claim the #11 Seed in the playoff.

Oregon started the year #4 in the Pre-Season Poll losing to BSU in Week 1, the Ducks then fell to instate rival Oregon State in Week 3, but went on afterwards to win 9 straight including a blowout (49-0) win over BYU in Week 13 to climb to #6 in the rankings. The Ducks will also grab the #6 seed and play the Irish for a chance to take on #3 Auburn in Round 2.

UCF lost to Auburn in the SEC Championship finishing the year at 10-3. However despite the loss the Knights actually climbed in the polls going from #11 to #10 and grabbed the #10 Seed in the Playoffs

Despite falling to Cal in Week 13 and missing out on a chance to rematch BSU in the Pac-12/14 title game, Stanford's (10-2) record impressed the poll voters enough to jump from #10 to #7 in the final week as they claim the #7 seed in the playoffs. If they can get past UCF they will get the rematch with the Broncos they were hoping for except now it will be in Round 2 of the playoffs, as BSU moves to #2 in the Polls and secures the #2 seed.

      2026 AWARD WINNERS

      HEISMAN

RS JR Nico Iamaleava (92 Ovr) from Tennessee is your 2026 Heisman winner edging out Stanford SR QB Myles Jackson and SR QB Jacurri Brown of UCF.

Nico has been a 3yr starter with 2026 being his best season yet, throwing for 3200 yds with 32 TD and just 1 INT well adding 480 yds on the ground with 6 TD's.

Iamaleava also was named the College Football POY as well.

FREEZE EDGES OUT DANIELSON FOR COACH OF THE YEAR

Despite leading the Boise State Broncos to their 3rd straight playoff and a perfect 13-0 record this season, Spencer Danielson comes up short as he finishes #2 in the voting to Auburn's Hugh Freeze. Freeze lead the Tigers to a 12-1 record including a 10-0 starting finishing with a SEC title over UCF.

BSU FINISH'S 1-2 IN BROYLES AWARD

Offensive Coordinator Ryne Scott finished #2 in the Broyles Award voting losing to his friend and fellow BSU staff member DC Eric Chinander.

      Coach Scott
"If I was going to lose, E.C. is the guy I would want to lose too. He is a tremendous coach and recruiting (Level 22/A+). Our offense gets alot of press, but our Defense is pretty dang good finishing in the Top-20 in Total yards, and rushing yards well ranked #10 in least amount of points given up"
      JAYDEN VIRGIN-MORGAN DOUBLES UP

SR DE Jayden Virgin-Morgan (87 Ovr) doubled up at the Awards ceremony taking home the Lombardi Trophy as well as the Best Defensive End.

V-M finished with 47 tackles (33 solo, 8 TFL) with a team high 13.5 sacks

      KAGE CASEY WINS INTERIOR LINEMAN

Kage Casey (90 Ovr) was a 2 year starter at Left Tackle and was named to both the Mountain West 1st Team as well as the Pac-12 1st Team last season. The All-American then unselfishly moved to LG to after the addition of transfer Eugene-Green III from Utah. The moved paid off as he wins a national award well increasing his draft status.

SCOTT SIGNS CONTRACT EXTENSION WILL STAY IN BOISE FOR AT LEAST 1 MORE YEAR!!!

Despite finishing #2 in the Broyles Award voting and despite the fact that the Boise State Offense was once again ranked in the Top-10 nationally, Coach Ryne Scott has announced he is returning for a 4th season as the Broncos O.C.

Reports are both San Diego State and UCLA made a run at the offensive mastermind.

        Coach Scott
"I came to Boise to help Coach D win a National Title and even if it does happen this year I love the Offense we have returning next season."

Boise State finished #2 in the nation with 5.639 yds of Total Offense (Arizona was #1 with 5707, and Stanford was #3 with 5599).

BSU finished #8 in the nation in Passing yards with 3964 and #8 in PTD with 40.

BSU was also Top-10 in rushing yards coming in at #9 with 1585 yds well scoring 15 TD's

After leading the league in 1st Downs the past 2 seasons, BSU dropped to #9 this year with 204 with K-State taking the #1 slot with 226 and Arizona finishing #2 with 225.

          1ST ROUND RESULTS.

**Noted.. I screwed up and saved over my save file somehow and had to go back to reload at the Pac-12 title game. The only thing that changed was the seeding of Stanford and Cal. Stanford now has the #8 seed and played Florida well Cal played UCF with the winner facing BSU in the 2nd round.***

#5 Ohio State defeats #12 Tennessee (42-24) and will move on to face #4 Clemson in the 2nd Round.

#8 Stanford destroys #9 Florida (50-28) in the 1st Round and moves on to take on #1 Michigan. Myles Jackson throws for 375 yds with 6 TD's

#6 Oregon defeats #11 Notre Dame (59-31) in the 1st Round and moves on to take on #3 Auburn. Dante Moore threw for 321 yds with 6 TD's and ran for 74 yds on 6 carries. Jalen Moss had 4 rec for 125 yds and 2 TD well J. Dickey had 5 rec for 75 yds and 2 scores.

#7 Cal defeats #10 UCF (29-28).. The Bears will rematch with #2 BSU who they just lost to in the Pac-12 title game. QB Fernando Mendoza threw for 344 yds with 3 TD and 1 INT and rushed for another score.

BSU ADVANCES TO SEMI FINALS FOR 2ND STRAIGHT YEAR!!!

Beating a very good football team twice in the matter of 3 weeks is tough to do, but #2 Boise State pulled it off with a 2nd Round win over #7 Cal.

Boise State dominated from start to finish in this one scoring 17 unanswered 1st Quarter points. Both teams scored early in the 2n Quarter with touchdowns as BSU RB Jambres Dubar scores his 10th of the season well going over 1000 yds on the year as well. Cal would add a late FG to make it (24-10) at the half.

Malachi Nelson started off the 3rd Quarter much like he did the 1st throwing a pair of TD's early giving him 4 on the day. Cal managed to find the endzone with 21 seconds to play in the 3rd making it (38-17) as we head to the 4th.

Both teams would trade score for score in the 4th, as Nelson throws TD #5 and Mendoza his 3rd and 4th of the day. BSU would add a late score on a Montrell Zuber 3 yd run to cap the victory.

            FINAL SCORE BSU-52 CAL-31

              2ND ROUND RESULTS

#2 Michigan survived the upset beating #8 Stanford in a shootout (48-45). The Wolverines used a balance attack with 118 yds on the ground and 262 yds in the air, well the Cardinals and Myles Jackson were airing it out all night with 463 yds out of 552 yds of Total Offense. Jackson finished the night with 5 TD's and 1 INT For the season Jackson had 5571 yds Passing with 52 TD's and 11 INT

#4 Ohio State defeats #5 Clemson (34-16). With the win the Buckeyes set up a rematch with their biggest Big Ten rival just 3 weeks after playing them in the Big Ten title game. Ohio State ran for 133 yds and 4 TD's on the ground including 19 carries for 71 yds and 3 TD by JR RB James Peoples (86 Ovr)

#6 Oregon defeats #3 Auburn (31-7). The Ducks will get their rematch with the Broncos and will look to avenge their Week 1 loss. Oregon's offense is among the nations best, but today the Defense held the Tigers to just 246 yds of Total Offense and just 5 yds on the ground well picking off QB J. Geriner twice. Ducks QB Dante Moore threw for 326 yds with 3 TD and 2 INT of his own. Oregon got 94 yds on 13 carries from RB J Limar

OREGON WINS ON PAPER, BRONCOS WIN ON THE SCOREBOARD!!!

The Boise State vs Oregon rematch in the CFP Semi-Finals will go down as one of the greatest games in BSU history possibly surpassing that of the Oklahoma win in the Fiesta Bowl in 2006.

If you look at the stats, the Ducks basically won in every catagory. They had had more 1st Downs (17 to 13), they had more total yards of Offense (434 to 390) they had more yards on the ground (130 to 112) they had more passing yards (299 to 275) and they had the ball longer (34:07 to 25:53).

But for BSU their season has been perfect and the Broncos have overcome every difficulty thrown their way. For QB Malachi Nelson facing the Ducks was a chance at redemption. The Redshirt Junior tore his rotator cuff against the Ducks last season in Week 10 and missed the season opener this year well still recovering from the same injury leaving his own true game experience the 2024 game in which Oregon beat BSU in OT.

                Coach Scott
"The fact that Nelson is 0-1 vs the Ducks and Maddux Madsen is 2-0 vs the Ducks was not lost on us as coaches and I am sure was on the mind of several of the fans, but the players on this team love Malachi and Maddux both and believe both players are more the capable of helping us win this game"

BSU started the game trying to use a ground game to help keep the Ducks high power offense at bay and it worked pretty decent as Jambres Dubar racks up 8 carries for 40+ yards before giving away to RS FR Montrell Zuber who scores on a 4 yd run to make it (7-0). Oregon wasted little time though as Dante Moore leads a 8 play drive putting the Ducks in the endzone with his feet (6 yd run) to make it (7-7).

For Jambres Dubar 2026 has been a record breaker for BSU in the fact that the school has produced 17 straight years with a 1000 yd rusher (Dubar has 1112 on 207 carries, with 12 TD's) but carry #208 is one he would like a do over. Dubar took the snap and went to make his cut but instead was stopped dead in his tracks for a no gain but to make matters worse the ball pops out and Dubar goes down. The Ducks recover the fumble well Dubar is helped off the field. (Medical staff would latter announce it was a torn quad and Dubar's season was over).

The BSU Defense however comes to the call forcing a Oregon Fumble 3 players later to get the ball back. No harm no foul unless your Dubar's Quad.

The score would remained tied till midway through the 2nd when Zuber would run in his 2nd TD of the day this time from 20 yds out showing BSU fan's a glimpse of what they might see more of next season making it (14-7).

BSU would add on a late FG to make it (17-7) at the half.

Oregon opened the 2nd half with the ball and Moore went to the air connecting with Jurrion Dickey (85 Ovr) on a 35 yd bomb to make it (17-14) with 2 minutes in.

Both teams traded punts over the next 2 series before BSU would extend their lead on a Nelson to Strachan TD to make it (24-14) as we head to the 4th.

Moore would strike back finding JR WR J. McClellan (86 Ovr) on a 24 yd TD to make it (24-21). Then after a Nelson INT Moore went back to the air for his 3rd TD of the day hitting TE Kenyon Sadiq (84 Ovr) on a 16 yd slant to make it (28-24) as Oregon takes the lead.

Nelson fresh off his INT would bounce back though as he finds Strachan again for TD #2 to give the Broncos the lead again with just over 4 minutes to play (31-28).

Moore the Ducks would try and slow things down chewing up the clock before punching it in with RB Jayden Limar on a 4 yd score to make it (35-31) with 1:51 to play.

Down by 4 with under 2 minutes to play, Nelson would lead the Broncos out in their 2 minute offense, but he would need only 2 plays before putting BSU back on top as he hits Prince Strachan on a 69 yd bomb for their 3rd hookup of the day putting BSU back on top with still over 1:30 to play. (38-35).

Now it was Moore's turn to be the hero. But the problem is OLB Jamaal Shivers had already been cast for the role. Moore's 2nd pass of the final drive found the outstretched hands of Shivers. For Shivers it was just his 2nd INT on the season, but the redshirt sophomore has been making big players all year for the Broncos leading the team in tackles (69) with 13 TFL and 5.0 sacks.

BSU would run out the clock to secure the win...

                FINAL SCORE BSU-38 OREGON-35

                KEY PLAYERS

                QB M. Nelson 275 yds 3 TD 1 INT

                QB D. Moore-299 yds 3 TD 1 INT,54 yds rushing 1 TD

BUCKEYES FALL SHORT IN THEIR QUEST FOR REVENGE.

Ohio State and Oregon have something in common as neither team was able to get revenge on their #1 rival after a early loss this season.

For Michigan the win gives the Wolverines a chance at a 13th National Title and a 2nd in the past 4 years..

Michigan took the early (7-0) lead in the 1st Quarter and led (17-13) at the half. The Defense held strong as the Offense extends the lead to (24-13) through 3 Quarters of play. OSU would cut the game to (24-20) early in the 4th and actually take the lead midway through the 4th to make it (26-24) after failing to convert the 2 point play.

Michigan however would score 14 unanswered for the remainder of the game as they pick off RS JR QB Lincoln Kieholz.

                  FINAL SCORE MICHIGAN-38 OHIO STATE-26

Michigan QB Jayden Denegal was POY throwing for 261 yds with 2 TD and rushing for 100 yds and a TD.

RB D. Taylor added 67 yds on 21 carries with 2 TD's as well

                    THE GREATEST GAME EVER PLAYED??

If you ask people to vote on the greatest college football game ever played some would say it was in 1971 when Nebraska defeated Oklahoma (35-31) in a game that featured over 839 yds of total offense and 4 lead changes.

For others it was Nebraska's (31-30) loss to the Miami Hurricanes in the Orange Bowl in 1984. HC Tom Osborne could've kicked the XPT to tie the game but instead went for the 2pt play, resulting in a Dynasty being born in Miami.

Fast forward to 2006-2007 and you would get people talking about #5 Michigan's loss to Appalachian State (34-32), where a blocked FG attempt cemented the Mountaineers in the history book.

Or again maybe it was Boise State's Hook and Ladder and Statue of Liberty trick plays that helped the Broncos defeat Oklahoma (43-42 in OT)

Well today both teams made history again.

BSU entered the game (15-0) well Michigan was (14-1) winner of 13 straight since their Week 2 loss to Oklahoma (24-21).

Michigan took the early lead (7-0) but BSU tied the game (7-7) on a Malachi Nelson TD throw to RB Sire Gaines out of the backfield. For Nelson it was the 1st of many TD's on the day that ended up being a record setting day.

The Wolverines would tack on a FG to take a (10-7) lead into the 2nd Quarter and extended the lead to (23-7) before BSU would score 20 unanswered points (missed 1 XP) as Nelson throws 3 more touchdowns including a 66 yd bomb to Anthony DiMarco, a 13 yd strike to Prince Strachan and a 17 yd score to TE Carlos Mack to give BSU the (27-23) lead at the half.

Michigan opened up the 2nd half with the ball and quickly retook the lead well converting the 2pt play to make it (31-27) but Nelson and the Broncos never backed down as Nelson finds DiMarco for their 2nd scoring hookup on the day to make it (34-31). The score would remain the same as we finish up the 3rd and head to the 4th.

Michigan takes the lead back on the opening drive of the 4th (38-34) as Denegal hits Marco Babers with a 28 yd strike. Nelson answers back hitting Terron Sermon a 49 yd bomb to make it (41-38). BSU would tack on a 31 yd FG by Jarrett Reeser to extend the lead to (44-38) with just under 4 minutes to play.

Denegal (80 Ovr) and just a 3* QB out of high school uses his arm to surpass 4000 yds on the season well scoring his 37th TD of the year connecting with TE Zach Marshall to give Michigan the lead yet again (45-44) with 2:42 to play.

Nelson already with 6 TD's on the day, wasn't done as the Junior goes 4/4 on his final drive including finding Terron Sermon for his 2nd TD of the day and 14th of the season this time from 8 yds out to give BSU the lead (51-45) with 1:21 to play

Michigan burned 2 timeouts during the Broncos final drive and was left with just 1 as they took the field looking for their 13 National Title, but they wouldn't need it.

For a 2nd straight week, the Broncos Defense comes up huge as Junior CB Franklyn Johnson JR picks off Denegal to seal the Broncos victory, a perfect 16-0 season and their 1st National Championship!!!!

                    KEY PLAYERS

QB M. Nelson 26/34 425 yds 7 TD (ties his own school record) 1 INT

Coach Scott "The Perfect Ending on a Perfect Season.. It's one I will remember for a very long time. To be able to help bring a National Title to Boise State will be something that will rank as one of my most treasured achievements in my life. Just know though, this isn't going to be my only National Title of my career. It's just the 1st of what I hope to be many. This is just part of the final chapters of Part I of "My Legacy". I promise their will be more to come."

                      END OF THE YEAR RECAP

Boise State say's goodbye to 17 Seniors from the National Championship Roster including RB1 (Jambres Dubar-1100+ yds 12 TD), WR1 Prince Strachan (3 straight years of 1000 yd seasons with double digit TD's), 4 of the team's starting 5 0-Lineman , PK Jarrett Reeser as well as National Award winning DE J. Virgin-Morgan (13.5 Sacks). But don't worry the Broncos are ready to reload and return to the fight next year bringing back a talented squad that I am sure will be Top-10 ranked to start the season led by QB Malachi Nelson.

4 BRONCOS HEAR THEIR NAME CALLED ON DRAFT DAY

LG Kage Casey and LT Earnest Greene III both were 2nd day selections going in the 2nd Round, well Virgin-Morgan was finally picked in the 6th round followed by RT Spencer Fano.

RB Jambres Dubar and Prince Strachan should both receive multiple Free Agent offers as they look to continue their careers on Sundays.

BSU LANDS TOP-20 CLASS COMING OFF THEIR CHIP

Winning a National Championship goes along ways in the eyes of the current players and those your trying to recruit. For the 3rd straight year BSU has been able to retain all of their current players (some will be transfer at the end of the season) and the BSU staff is able to land 22 incoming recruits (1-5*,7-4*-14-3*).

BSU signed several players late in the process including 3* RB Tim Webb, 3* FB Pat Tucker, 3* TE Ramon Swope and 4 WR's to add to their stables. 3* Rico Harris (6'3), 3* Tremaine Keyton (6'2), 3* Emanuel Sharp (6'3) and 3* Tyree Lamar (6'5) hope to continue the Broncos passing game success, that produced 3-1000 yd and double digit TD players last season..

                      Coach Scott
"We were able to redshirt both Terron and Anthony D, 2 years ago and then both made huge jumps joining the active roster as WR2/3 this past season and produced huge #'s. Terron led the team with 80 rec for 1260 yds and 14 TD well DiMarco finished with 69 rec for 1235 yds and 17 TD's just 1 shy of matching the school's single season record. TE Carlos Mack also made a huge impact coming off his redshirt season with 65 rec for 643 yds and 8 TD, so we are excited that we have the depth to be able to give all these guy's a opportunity to sit and learn behind some talented players this year and push these those guy's to be even better moving forward"
The Broncos already had signed 5* Center Sean Flowers, 4* Guard Rodney Brutus and 4* Tackles David Woodward and Lee Udeze, but they added 4 more road blockers to the 0-Line in 3* Quinton Eason, Tyrell Hix, Jabu Ogunleye and Cedric Pride.

                      Coach Scott
"Obviously we graduated 4 Starters and 5 Seniors in total off the O-Line, so we knew we wanted to reload the depth. We are excited about the guy's who will be competing for the starting job and believe that some of these guy's will push those guy's to make them even better."
BSU didn't land a single player for the D-Line and will be have to push hard next season to start looking for depth and future starters, but they did manage to add 3* Jameel Lovelace along with 4* Dorian Mauldin and 3* Josh Yates to the Linebacker room where they will join 4* Alan Butts who signed early in the season. Mauldin was listed as a Athlete ranked #81 Overall.

BSU also failed to sign a single CB recruit or FS leaving 4* SS Marco Damico as the only DB recruit in this year's class. That lack of effort could also hurt the depth chart moving forward.

BSU landed James Procter in last year's class as a future PK replacement for Jarrett Reeser but will give him some competition as they add 3* Carl Meyers in this year's class. Meyers was the #1 PK in this year's class and was ranked #462 Overall.

BSU's Class finished #2 in the Pac-12 behind #6 Oregon, Washington was ranked #26, Stanford was #35, Cal was #41 BYU was #44, Utah was #52, Fresno State was #63, Washington State #68 (USC glitched and couldn't find)

CAMERON BATES TO BECOME SWISS ARMY KNIFE

SR Cameron Bates was recruited as a 5'10 165lb WR, But since arriving on campus he has recorded just 11 receptions for 229 yds with 3 TD's with all of that coming last year in the 2025 season.

He has however settled in nicely on special teams with 48 career returns for 1397 yds (29.1 Avg) including 1 100 yd return for a TD. He also has 34 punt returns for 422 yds (12.4 avg).

This season however Bates will be making a move to RB (he jumped from a 79 Overall to a 91) where he will serve as the teams 3rd down specialist as well as a receiver out of the backfield.

With Dubar gone was RB1, Bates could push his way into a bigger role if Coach Scott looks to mix up the carries with a Thunder/Lighting combo of Gaines/Zuber (Thunder) with Bates/Riley (Lighting) offering alot of depth at the RB position.

SPRING CAMP PRODUCES A FEW LAST MINUTE TRANSFERS

Former 3* RS SO QB Recruit Kenan Cox, 3* RS FR RB Cole Sieg both announced their decisions to transfer as BSU cuts it's roster to 81 players...

Not sure why it didn't type out as I did. But stinks you lost Dubar the 2nd to last game of your run. Now time to get on that horse and let's see if the Broncos can stay on top of that mountain.

Picked up some nice depth on the offensive line. Should help in the trenches this up coming season. Hope the lack of defensive line and CB recruiting this year doesn't come and bite you this upcoming season. Also like what your plans seem to be with the back field this season. A little LenDale White / Reggie Bush style. Look forward to seeing what happens and what kind of year Nelson has to sens himself.odd to the pros.

Appreciate the follow/comments. I was a fun season. Injuries have sucked. Not getting to finish out Jeanty's career and then for Dubar to miss the Natty sucks. But I am excited for the RB room this year. Bates has great speed and has been big in the return game, so I was pumped to see his Overall take such a big jump when moved to RB. I was already wearing #22 so it works.

I am pretty happy with the O-Line I lost 4 great starters but I am starting 3 RS SO next year and with the incoming guy's pretty much all redshirting, I shouldn't need to worry about anything on Offense next year other then maybe finding a QB that can compete for the starting job with Nelson graduating. So this year's class should be pretty heavy on the Defense.

Then again, part of me really would like to start Scott's next chapter at another school, but I need the right offer to come up. So far it just hasn't..
