He is the higher rated QB, so I put him on the DC @ #1. But I was still undecided on who was going to get the nod. I ran 5 plays in practice with 5 reps for each QB and liked the feel of Lambo better as a passer. McClover has better speed and awareness, but Lambo has the better accuracy grades and TUP so I went with him. But the leash will be short, if he pulls a Pratt and starts serving the ball up then McClover will get his shot

McClover is serving as my 5th WR right now, so he may get in the game at some point as well

Game Notes
Los Angeles, CA. - Larry Nicholson left some pretty big shoes to fill after leaving Oxford as the single season record holder for passing yards (4,307) and touchdowns (48) and the career touchdown record (89), breaking almost all of Eli Manning's records at Ole Miss.

Its only one game, but it seems the years behind Nicholson paid off for Isaiah Flowers who lit up the Hurricanes defense for 484 yards and 5 touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.

He'll have an even tougher task as the Rebels travel to LA to face the "Wall of Troy" and last seasons #1 ranked defense. They amassed 8 sacks in a 24-10 win over the Gators last week and always look forward to grounding an aggressive passing attack.

After his surprise announcement as last weeks starter USC QB Mafu Lambo is looking to build upon an up and down opening performance in his home debut. Lambo rushed for two touchdowns and threw for a 3rd, but also fumbled in the redzone and took 4 sacks that killed his rushing yardage. He will also need to avoid locking onto targets as the sophomore only completed passes to three Trojans last week in Gainesville, something defenses could begin to key on as they obtain tape on the young QB.

Rebels HC Josh Henson is hoping to finally earn his 1st career win (0-3) against his former coach after serving under Coach Red for his 1st two seasons at USC, includning their National Championship run in 2025.

Thanks for checking in man! I always try and schedule top 15 ranked teams for my two open games (3rd one goes to ND for the rivalry), but typically its been Big Ten matchups that we've lost. The only non Big Ten team I've ever lost to was Georgia in the CFP.

Trojans Outlast Rebels In Another Slugfest

Mafu Lambo's pair of rushing TDs in the 2nd half propelled USC to the 30-14 win in his home debut.

LEFT - Isaiah Flowers beat the USC defense over the top twice, with this 4th Q touchdown pulling Ole Miss back within one score early in the 4th Q.
CENTER - Outside of the two long touchdowns it was a frustrating start for Flowers who was sacked 6 times, including a safety with just 33 seconds left to end day for the Rebels offense.
RIGHT - Mafu Lambo may have rushed for two touchdowns, but a fumble on the opening drive of the 2nd half nearly cost the Trojans.

Los Angeles, CA. - Pat Nadruzzi is going on his 8th season as the defensive coordinator as USC and while he generated some head coaching buzz for the 1st time this offseason he ultimately ended up staying in Los Angeles, something HC Kyle Red is certainly grateful for after the Trojans defense continues to play at an All-World level.

"We bring in a lot of talented guys here at SC each recruiting cycle, but Pat is the guy that makes the glue stick." HC Red admitted after yet another dominant defensive performance in the Trojans 30-14 win to open the 2033 season at The Coliseum.

USC entered the season with questions in their secondary as they once again watched all three starting corners and strong safety Jose Zimmons depart in the offseason, but you wouldn't tell from their first two contests.

Outside of a pair of broken plays, touchdown throws of 56 yards to Larry Godwin and 69 yards to Tremaine Clausen, the Wall of Troy stood tall once again as they held a Rebels offense that generated nearly 500 yards of offense last week vs Miami to a mere 253.

Both defenses were clicking early as the teams entered the break tied at 7, but the Rebels seemed poise to take an early 2nd half lead after Mafu Lambo fumbled on the QB keeper on the Trojans opening drive, but yet another stand by the Trojan "D", including a sack on 2nd and 8 by DE Marvin Malveaux, lead to a missed 47 yard FG by JR K Alex Trask.

The Trojans wouldn't squander the 2nd opportunity afforded by the defense as they scored on their next two possessions beginning with a 5 yard plunge by Manny Velasco before Lambo showed off the wheels with a 20 yard run as USC took an early 21-7 4th Q lead.

Isaiah Flowers and the Rebels offense weren't quite ready to die as the QB connected on his his 2nd 50+ yard TD to put the pressure back on the Trojans.

Instead of crumbling, the Trojans offense put together their most complete drive of the contest as they embarked on a grueling 15 play drive, spanning 84 yards before Lambo added his 2nd rushing TD of the game with just 58 seconds remaining.

After watching USC milk nearly 6 and a half minutes from the clock, Ole Miss was in full on desperation mode as they frantically attempted to recreate another deep touchdown. The Rebels drive was over as quickly as it started with DE Sergio Gray burying Flowers for the Trojans 5th sack before Wilkins went for the knockout with a 6th sack that resulted in a safety and the end of the contest for the Rebels O.

With the win USC HC Kyle Red moves to 6-0 all time against former assistants, including 4-0 against Josh Henson. USC will hit the road for an early 3 game road trek that begins next week in The Horseshoe against #24 Ohio State, who will be looking to rebound after their shocking loss to UMass this week.

Game Notes
Columbus, OH. - The Buckeyes followed up their 34-31 clutch victory over the Arkansas Razorbacks with a complete debacle after digging themselves into a 30-7 hole thanks to 3 1st half turnovers (2INT, FMB). The Buckeyes would rally for 18 4th Q points, but fell just short of the comeback as the Minutemen continue to be a nightmare matchup for top 25 ranked teams (5-9 in the last 3+ seasons).

The hill only gets stepped with a rare trip to Columbus for the #1 ranked Trojans who have leaned heavily on a once again stifling defense for their 2-0 start.

The Wall of Troy is averaging just 12 PPG this season, but have shown a tendency to be burned by the big play. SR QB Sam Stoner was instrumental in digging the Buckeyes into the 30-7 hole, but also in dragging them out of it with three touchdowns in the 4th Q. He'll have to continue to exploit a relatively new Trojan secondary deep while avoiding being eaten alive by the ferocious USC front seven.

As a real world Michigan fan, please bury a felony flag at the 50 on these bozos. Its sad for how old I am, but the level of hate directed at a logo or a digital football team because they resemble the real one is a level of pathetic I hope you never achieve haha..
