Re: The Lefty From Atlanta, Troy Jackson's Story (Madden 09 Superstar)

Today is the NFL combine, I am so nervous. This is the last chance I get to show my skills of to everu NFL team.

Im in position to run the 40.

Gah, 5.08, at least its better than my first time.

I did the same amount of reps as last time, 3.

Im in a Viking uniform about to do the passing challenge.

I didn't do too bad, I went 8-10 with no interceptions and 3 TD's.

now its the worst part, next week is draft day.

Obviously im not going round 1, So why bother watching the draft.

Instead of watching the draft I decided to take the wife out to a romantic date night,

It was defiantly good to get away from football, this last few months have been hard on the family.

I woke up pretty late on April 27th, the start of round 3.

I had 2 missed calls, both from my agent.

I called up Romo and asked him what he wanted.

"Hey troy, turn on your TV."

I turned it on.

round three was already started and its the New England Patriots pick the 78th pick in the draft.

Oh boy, please no. don't draft me, I want a chance to compete for a starting job.

pick is in.

Shawn Crable linebacker Michigan.

"What the hell did you want me to watch that for?"

"Just keep watching kid. you'll like what you see."

He hung up.

I looked at the past 3rd round picks and I wasn't drafted yet.

"to hell with this."

I reached for the TV's off switch when the Houston Texans pick was in.

The ESPN music went off.

"Houston Texans selection, Troy Jackson, QB Georgia."

"HOLY SH!@ HONEY GET IN HERE!"

Kelsey came running in

"What what is it?"

She looked at the screen.

"Oh my god honey!"

We danced around the room like little kids on Christmas morning.

My Blackberry went off.

It was a restricted number

"Hello this is Gary Kubiak and Bob McNair here, we just called to say we have drafted you with our third round pick."

"Thank you so much, coach Kubiak I thought you said you were going to look in another direction."

"Well we were but we saw you in the third and we thought it would be stupid not to pick you up. Plus Matt (Schaub) has had a down offseason so far and he needs some heat from a new Quarterback, we gotta go Troy, welcome to the team."

"Bye coach, bye Mr.McNair."

I can't believe it, a Houston Texan and a chance to be a starter in the NFL.

"Hey honey?" I told Kelsey

"Yes?"

"Pack your bags, we're going to Houston."

I guess all that work paid off.

Too bad you'll be sitting behind Shaub.

At least he is injury prone.

Arriving for the first day of training camp. Excited to meet my new players and coaches.

I met up with receivers Andre Johnson, and Kevin Walter.

I shook hands with Dunta Robinson, Mario Williams, and DeMeco Ryans.

After a while coach Gary Kubiak blew his whistle.

"Huddle up guys. Huddle up."

"Matt Schaub will not be practicing with us today because of some problems he faced with the law last night so backup quarterback Troy Jackson will be running with the first team offense."

Wow, this is my big break, Matt is screwing with the wrong man, I can take his job.

No, I will take his job.

i dnt like this part...the PA anouncer at the Super Bowl would be neutral n not motivating one team....remeber its not a home game

It was supposed to be the coach not the PA announcer.
