Re: Aaron Cade: Bigger, Stronger, Faster
First Career Game September 7, 2009 Posted at 11:59 am by Aircade17
It was so surreal getting dressed in the locker room, running down the stairs and hitting the Play Like a Champion Today sign. Running out onto the field in front of all those fans, knowing this game was on tv and I'd be playing in front of millions of people. It was almost too much.
I made my first collegiate catch midway through the first quarter. Jimmy threw a perfect ball, I caught it, hurdled a defender, and ended up with a 34 yard gain. The crowd went insane and I knew I was in the right spot.
I even got my first carry later in the first. It was only for two yards, but I liked the fact I was being used more then just as a receiver for once. The game was close for all of about two possessions, but we really started to pull away. It was 35-7 at the half, and there was no signs of slowing down.
My number was called way more than I thought. Every time I was on the field I felt like I was making an impact.
49
7
9 Catches
128 Yards
1 Drop
14.2 YPC
38 YAC
I had a much bigger impact then I thought I would. I played most of the second half as the #2 wide receiver on the second team, and just kept having the ball fed to me. I loved it.
