NFL COMES TO OKLAHOMA! (MADDEN 2010)

July 2, 2009, 1:32 PM ET
New Expansion Team Enters League
Associated Press

JACKSONVILLE, Florida -- After long talks between Commissioner (Roger) Goddell & Jacksonville Jaguars owner Wayne Weaver; a press confrence was held today announcing that the Jacksonville Jaguars franchise would no longer be in existence.

"We just can not get enough fan support to keep the team funded," stated Wayne. "We decided it was better for both parties to start over in a new city rather than have all home games blacked out. It's extremly disappointing to see this happen not even 15 years into an organization existence but thats just the way it is now a days."

Depite the loss of the Jacksonville organization a new team will enter the league this year and take over its spot in the AFC South.

When asked what city won the vote and who was all in the running Goodell responded, "Good thing is though we had a few cities step up and agree to take over the right to have a new organziation. Oklahoma City, Louisville, Virginia Beach, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles all gave us a call. Unfortunly Vegas & LA werent really considered due to us not wanting to switch around the teams in divisions. So when the final decission was made Oklahoma City won the right to have an NFL organization into its city."

Godell later went on to explain how Oklahoma will fill outs its roster. Suprisingly they wont just recieve the Jaguars roster yet instead be forced to take 1 player from all 32 teams, that includes only 1 from Jacksonville, and fill rest out with free agents. Whoever is not selected from Jacksoville will actually be unable to play in the NFL. No player can be better than 66 overall and when selecting out of the players from another team only 5 can be in the league for his rookie or second season. The draft will be held a week from now which is exactly a month the start of the season.

Bandits Pick Up W In First Preseason Game

MIAMI, Florida -- In a decently dramatic opening preseason game between the Oklahoma City Bandits and Miami Dolphins, the Bandits held on for a 28-22 victory. The game balls went to K Rhys Lloyd, who was 5-5 with a long of 44, and WR Joshua Cribbs, who had 4 catches for 73 yards and a TD grab on fourth and goal from the 4. Four plays before the TD grab Josh busted a quick slant 59 yards and looked like he was going all the way before losing his balance and going out at the two.

"I thought I was gone becasue I had one defender to beat. I was looking for the block but it was not there," stated Josh when asked why he didnt score. "Its okay though we still got the six in the long run but next time I just gotta out run the defender straight up field."

Threw out the game players were coming in and out which was not suprising due to coach DJ Tanner announcement in pregame to that all his players are in a test to see who could win the jobs. When asked if anyone had won a starting spot already he answered quickly, "Ha not even close. We have 3 more games left and everyone will get a start a game to prove they deserve to be here. An before you ask yes that includes the QB also. Jim (Sorgi) will get the start with (Brian) Brohm getting the start at Philly in week 3 and Andre W(oodson) getting it in the last week."

Next up for the Bandits is a home game vs the Buccaneers this Saturday. It should be interesting to see the fan turn out and the continue competition between players.
