Re: The AFA: Post-NFL Professional Football

Draft Overalls, woo (this sentence was written before I checked the overalls and after I signed them)!

Jerald Yearwood: 75 (B) (89 SPD)
Austin Bowman: 77 (B) (98 STR)
Daniel Fuller: 48 (F) (21 AWR)
Demont Thompson: 64 (B) (96 THP) (68/55/51 ACC)
Michael Pomee: 62 (D) (20 AWR)
Stephen Hutchinson: 68 (C) (84 STR)
Antuan Lunsford: 56 (F) (87 STR/25 AWR)
Sean Derise: 66 (C)
Courtney Richardson: 52 (F) (92 SPD)
Elliot Duncan: 75 (A) (97 KPW)

Might be the worst draft I've ever had in Madden. I gave the top couple guys monster contracts for disappointment and B potentials, and the rest are all just terrible. I already HAD high 70's with B potential at offensive line, I wanted guys who could be legitimate STUDS and instead I got garbage. And the middle rounds were all awful - the only I guy I expected to actually suck was Richardson, and he wasn't even the worst pick. A 48 in round 3? Seriously? ****ing ****.

Re: The AFA: Post-NFL Professional Football

The second season for Columbus began with surprise. 2 draft picks – offensive linemen Daniel Fuller and Antuan Lunsford – were released before the Pre-Season began. Said GM Anthony Richards, “These players were severely underwhelming in training camp and were being paid fairly little, so they were cut to free up valuable roster spots.” Also cut was Kicker Thomas Barksdale, due to the emergence of rookie Elliot Duncan as a powerhouse.

The Smokers were hit by several injuries in the pre-season: starting LOLB Ed Weaver was lost to an upper arm fracture and missed most of the pre-season and the home opener, while backup MLB Dusty Doss broke his collarbone in the second third game and missed nearly half the season. Backup RG Bryce Faye, signed in free agency, was knocked out for the season due to a fractured shoulder blade.

After picking up a backup MLB in free agency, Columbus started the season optimistic. Overcoming blowout losses early, the Smokers rallied to go 9-7, but missed the playoffs. Coaches and players referred to the season as “disappointing”, but acknowledged it was progress. “9-7 is way better than what we did last year, and with the right decisions and pickups this off-season we should compete next year,” said GM Richards said.

Notable stats:
QB Jose Stone: 12 TDs, 10 INTs, 54% completion, 1813 yards, sacked 34
times, played just 9 full games
QB Ronald Dotson: 10 TDs, 7 INTs, 56% completion, 977 yards, sacked 23
times
HB Desmond Avery: 1467 yards, 8 TDs, 4.4 YPC, 800 yards after first hit
(Pro Bowl [1])
WR Ron Caulley: 83 receptions, 916 yards, 7 TDs
3 WRs: 6 drops each
LG Austin Bowman[R](RT): 8 pancakes, 1 sack
MLB Mo Johnson: 126 tackles, 51 assists, 14 TFL, 2 sacks, 5 passes defended
LE Robert Gross: Team-high 8 sacks (played 12 games)
DT Harlos Christensen: 42 tackles, 4 sacks (Pro Bowl [1])
DT Otis Rogers: 32 tackles, 4 sacks (Pro Bowl [1])

5th ranked rushing offense
29th ranked pass offense
6th ranked defense

Best Record: Akron Hornets, 14-2

Super Bowl: Akron Hornets defeat Athens Soul 31-14

MVP: QB Landon Fredrick: 28-30, 284 yards, 93% completion, 3 TDs, 0 INTs, 145.7 QB rating

Atlanta, as they play in Athens, Georgia. All the teams are like that. Except for the Dodge City Hogs: I'm stupid and didn't remember Kansas City wasn't in Kansas.
