Bills sends Buccs home humiliated

[left]Sept 20, 2009 by drlw322 | Buffalo Bills network | Box Score

Buffalo, NY (AP) - Are the Bills that good or are the Buccs that bad. It is only week two of the season but the Bills' fan have something to be excited about. Bills currently ranked #1 in points avg (46.0), #2 in rushing defense (63.0 YPG), and #2 in turnover ratio (+5). Those are all very important numbers when it comes to winning football games, also consider the fact that they beat the New England Patriots last week in overtime.

Bills rushed for 186 yards on the ground against the Buccs and put up 275 yards in the air. The offense also showed big play ability, with plays of 67 yards (M. Lynch TD run), and 79 yards (Evans TD rec). There were also 3 other plays of 20 yards or more. The defense which have made the Bills competitive the last couple of season have more then hold their own this season. The Bills defense held the Buccs to 205 yards of total offense, and constantly pressured rookie QB Josh Freeman. Freeman was forced into several errors that included throwing 3 interception and holding the ball too long that resulted into being sacked 7 times. Marcus Stroud and Chris Kelsay both recorded 3 sacks.

QB Trent Edwards also showed signs of life after being put into the game half way through the 3rd Qtr. Edwards completed 10 of 14 passes for 115 yards and 3 TDs. Altought it was mop of duty, it was still impressive as Edwards showed pin point accuracy and poise in the pocket.

Next up

The Bills host the struggling and injury riddle New Orleans Saints (1-1). QB Drew Brees have thrown a combined 7 interception in his last two games and they are missing RB Pierre Thomas (out for season), WR Devery Henderson and Robert Meachem.

I play on with custom sliders. It's pretty unpredictable, it was the buccs too, they're horrible. Anyway i just lost to the saints in week 3 31-17 update coming up soon.

The pre-season game seemed to be easier.

Buffalo, NY (AP) - The Bills began their pre-season last night in the hopes of finding an identity and rediscovering the magic of the 90's. Bills aquired Terrell Owens in the off season for rising QB Trent Edwards and the two have looked shaky in training camp trying to adjust to each other.
Bills 1st team offense struggled against the Bears' defense last night. Trent Edwards only managed to comp 9-23 passes for 77 yards and had trouble getting the ball to T.O. the running game also stalled as Fred Jackson was not able produce much offense between the tackles. Bills and Bears traded FGs in the 1st half going into the locker room 6-3, Bills leading.

The 2nd half saw many of the promsing young players from both sides. J. Hardy, 2nd year WR dazzled the crowd with a spectacular 27 yards TD catch. He ended the night with 7 catches and 127 yards. Rookie LB Nic Harris (Oklahoma) and RE Aaron Maybin (Penn St.) both had impressive performances. Both recored 5 tackles and Maybin also recorded 1 sack in helping the Bills to a 34-13 Victory over the Bears.
