Pursuit of Perfection: A Miami Dolphins Franchise

Game: Madden 10
Difficulty: All-Madden
Sliders: Tweaked a little in the computers favor.
Game Options: 6 minute quarters accelerated clock off.

I won't play preseason I will be simulating it and I will post a review of the preseason as one post summarizing the whole thing.

Couple Rules: No ridiculous trades, only sign free agents for need, not to stack certain positions to build a crazy good team. No scouting because in real life you never know if the player will turn out good or be a bust. I will sim the first season and any mention I make to the 2009 season will be based on real life, not however the game makes it turn out.

Ok I will try to make this as fun to read as I can. Thanks to any followers :]

2009 season recap

Super Bowl Result: The New Orleans Saints beat the Indianapolis Colts 31-17 with Drew Brees taking home the MVP.

Dolphins Season Recap:

After a surprise 11-5 season in 2008, the Dolphins were excited going into the 2009 season. But, the Dolphins were unable to recreate their magic year and their record fell to 7-9 and they were unable to make the playoffs.

One of the problems was the injury bug. The Dolphins lost their starting quarterback and their starting running back during the season. Chad Pennington seemed to be the difference in them making the playoffs in 2008 because of the way he protected the football. And Ronnie Brown was a very important part of the wildcat offense that the Dolphins have been known for.

Chad Henne filled in for Pennington and just couldn't protect the football as he through 12 TD's and 14 INT's. He did show flashes of talent and a very strong arm. But, as many young QB's do, he made some questionable decisions which led to turnovers.

There were some bright spots though. Ricky Williams did a nice job filling in for R. Brown and rushed for over 1,000 yards for the first time since 2003. Also, kicker Dan Carpenter and left tackle Jake Long made the pro bowl.

The Dolphins hope this year will be different, but there are many things still left to figure out. Who will be the starting quarterback on opening day? Who will be the starting corners with Will Allen returning to the lineup? Will the Dolphins go big in free agency or try and build through the draft? These questions will have to be answered after the offseason.

Re: Pursuit of Perfection: A Miami Dolphins Franchise

Big Coaching Changes

Today the Dolphins have made some coaching changes in firing there offensive coordinator and special teams coaches. The defensive coordinator left as the season ending. The only coach who will keep his spot is Head Coach Tony Sparano. The Dolphins believe he is the one who will take them back to the promised land.

The Dolphins have already replaced there fired coaches. Norv Turner was signed as the offensive coordinator and will certainly look to sure up the quarterback position heading into the new year.

They also signed defensive coordinator Ron Rivera and special teams coach Dave Toub. We'll see how these coaching changes will affect the team.
