Jay Jay Randolph: Madden 10 Superstar Story

They said he was too small, they said he was too weak, they said he would never make it out of the projects of New Orleans, but he did. John Williams "Jay" Randolph was born in the ghetto suburbs of New Orleans. Raised by a single mom, Jay knew all about hardships. At the age of twelve, he was being introduced to drugs and violence. While dealing with all those struggles there was only one place he could find peace, the football field. His number 55 has been retired by Liberty High in New Orleans. The raging outside linebacker recorded 4 interceptions, 6 sacks and 106 tackles in his senior year and led the Liberty High Dragons to the state semi-finals. However, Jay's gang life interfer with his football career. Being a member of a gang was the way to survive in New Orleans. Having football, and a scholarship to LSU, everything seemed to be going well, until...Katrina hit. The devastating hurricance killed more than half of Jay's family, including his younger brother Terrell, older brother Jamaal and his mom. Eversince, Jay has always worn a black sleeve with black visors as a sign of respect to his family and after every tackle he points to the sky and remembers his fallen family. Jay went on to have a great career at LSU. Recording 9 carreer interceptions, 14 sacks and 314 tackles. While being only 6'3 and 235 pound, Many players like Tim Tebow has describe Jay Randolph as the hardest hitter in college football history.

Draft Combine(used madden 09 for this)
40 yd dash-4.29
Bench Press-32
Wonderlic(IQ Test): 100/100
Overall:74

After a great combine performance, many projected him a highly as a second round choice. His high wonderlic test, the only player outside of Harvard to ever do so. His awesome 40 yd dash was considered a fluke and that he is really a 4.30 to 4.40 type of player.

Saturday March 25, 2009

It was just 20 days from his 21st birthday, that Jay Randolph entered the 2009 NFL Draft. Considered the 4th best linebacker after Brian Cushing, Clay Mathews and James Laurinaitis and was tied with Rey Maualuga with fourth. The first went came one and as expected Matthew Stafford went first overall and Jay didn't get a single call. for the secound round, Jay and his girlfriend, Shannay, were getting ready for the phone to ring, it never rang.

Sunday March 26, 2009

Fresh from a night's rest, Jay called his agent, apparently Jay was considered more of a safety than a linebacker. Just like his idol Derrick Brooks, he refused to change positions. that definately cost him. The third round went one and finally the Jaguars called saying that they are interested him and that he needs to hand tight. The Jags picked Derek Cox and Mike Thomas before finally picking Jay in the fifth round. With the 155 th overall pick, the Jags has snatched an undersized outside linebackers that will go on to be considered the greatest draft steal after tom brady.

Re: Jay Jay Randolph: Madden 10 Superstar Story

Since high school Jay wored only one number, number 55. This had to change since Aaron Kampman wored that number. He chose the number 57. 5 standing for his mom's birthday, December 5th, and 7 for how old his brother was when he died. From day one, Jay had to battle unproven lineback Clint Ingram for the starting job. During the pre-season, Jay showed his versitality by getting over 20 tackles, third best in the team. Jay liked his position in a 4-3 defense. Most likely he will be blitzing some times, but for Jay what he likes best is getting a pick 6.

First Game

Jay's first game wasn't a walk in the park, it was more like a sprint. He was facing Peyton Manning and his Colts. Jay made his impact clearly felt. Late in the third quarter, up by 3 points, Jay got his first career sack and career force fumble and also injured Peyton Manning. Jay went on to have one sack and four tackles and the Jags beat the Colts 35-28.

next update will be about his personal life

October 11,2009
Midway through his first season, Jay had over 30 tackles, 4 sacks and one interception. His first career interception was against the seahawks picking of Matt Hassellbeck to seal the win for the Jags.
