PLAYER EVALUATION
Preseason Game #1 Stats - 2 KR Attempts, 41 Yards, 20.5 Avg / 1
PR Attempt, 2 Yards, 2.0 Avg
Briscoe did not impress in his first outing as a Cincinnati Bengal. He played the majority of the 2nd half and looked clueless out on the field. He was manhandled by the Lions defensive backs and could not get a solid release off the line as seen in the picture below.
Briscoe in-directly caused an interception (right picture) after getting shoved off his route (left picture).
In the special teams game, Briscoe faired a lot better. His competition, Quan Cosby had a bad game in which he muffed a punt that lead to a Lions field goal.
Preseason Game #1 Stats - 5 Tackles, 1 Forced Fumble
If there was someone who truly impressed today it was Quinton Teal. Before this game, Teal looked like a real long shot to make the team. He gained a lot of ground today by his play on the field. He was the 2nd leading tackler in the game and made some hard hitting plays pictured below.
Preseason Game #1 Stats - 1 Pancake
There isn't much to evaluate on for an offensive lineman in-game. Williams started with the first team and looked like his old self. One notable play was a gaping hole he left open for Cedric Benson to run through.
Preseason Game #1 Stats - 2 Tackles
Typical game day for Frostee Rucker. He goes unnoticed and makes little notable plays to recount. It doesn't help that fellow defensive end Carlos Dunlap had a sack in the game.
Preseason Game #1 Stats - 3 Pancakes
Hudson did relatively well for only playing the 2nd half of the game. His 3 pancakes were tied for 2nd on the team. He's a young guy who's still learning as he goes. It'll be interesting to see how he can improve going into next week's game.
