Re: The Era: Matt10's Virginia Cavaliers

Hokies overpower Cavs in commonwealth
Metheny impresses in finale, officially replaces Verica

Metheny was welcomed immediately by the Virginia Tech defense.

Blacksburg, VA -- The grueling season came to end for the Virginia Cavaliers tonight, in front of their hated rivals, the Virginia Tech Hokies. The Hokies dominated in every aspect of the game, but still mercifully handing a 21-7 loss to the visitors.

There was no rivalry on paper this year, no player was outstanding for the Cavs, and even if there was, the electric play of Ryan Williams would overshadow such notion.

Williams produced an effective running game for 134 yards, averaging 5.1 yards a carry, and breaking multiple tackles on occasion. Despite not scoring a rushing touchdown, the senior did score off of a screen pass in the fourth quarter from 14 yards out.

A bright light did shine on red shirt freshman, Ryan Metheny, who came in for the (gasp!) underperforming Mark Verica; which prompted the senior quarterback to leave the field and straight to dressing room - his last walk down the tunnels as a Cavalier.

Metheny established the passing game, and threw a beauty of a pass to a streaking Jason Green for a 45-yard score.

In the end, it was the same display for the Cavs, another loss - but this time they can let the pain sulk in for a couple of months.

Rumors remain of London's immediate dismissal, but alas, there is a horse that has been beaten to death - much like the season that has just now finished.
Virginia 7, Virginia Tech 21
UVA Passing: Metheny, 8/18, 147 yds, TD
UVA Rushing: Mack, 17 rush, 81 yds
UVA Receiving: Green, 2 rec, 37 yds, TD
---
VT Passing: Taylor, 12/22, 142 yds, TD
VT Rushing: Williams, 26 rush, 134 yds; 3 rec, 33 yds
VT Receiving: Davis, 3 rec, 53 yds

Re: The Era: Matt10's Virginia Cavaliers

Become a CAP
I run by my offseason quick, so be a CAP can be done, I know it takes a bit of time for people to sign up if interested. Here's what I do, you get created, I track you week by week and update stats; etc. I've done this before in previous reports and had fun. When or if you get drafted to the NFL, I will continue to track your progress as well. I am still undecided if I will create NFL draftees into Madden 11 or NFL2k5 yet.

Info Neded:

Name: (First and Last)
Pos:
Type: (Pro Material or Underdog - this will determine my star rating for you)
Height/Weight:
Number:

Hand:
Skin:
Face:
Build: (Just tell me either a. lumpy, b. cut, c. in between)
Accessories/Uniform: (Don't go crazy, I can edit along the way thankfully)

*closing CAPS no later than 3 pm CST tomorrow*
