Re: Geaux For Gold

TIGERS WIN AGAIN

The hosting Commodores made the Tigers' trip from Baton Rouge as unpleasant as they could in their 10 point loss to LSU. Like in the previous game against the Tar Heels of North Carolina Vanderbilt produced more yards through the air (216) and on the ground (153) - Comparing these numbers to LSU and their 152 passing yards along with the 59 rushing yards. LSU has been able to win games through turnovers as Vanderbilt threw three interceptions - One of which put LSU up by two possessions in the final quarter of the ball game.

Game ball award to Grimes LSU CB - 13 tkls, tfl, 1 int, TD

Re: Geaux For Gold

The LSU Tigers put away with the Bulldogs of Mississippi State who are still winless in conference play. The Tigers offense put up more yardage than their opponents in all categories (352-289) - The game was scoreless until the waning moments of the first quarter where Jefferson scrambled 21 yards for the touchdown. The good play from Jefferson didn't last all game as he threw 3 interceptions while under pressure from the Bulldog line. The Tigers easily coasted to a 31-7 victory where Mississippi State avoided the shutout by scoring in the final seconds of the game. However the Tigers will finish up the two game road stint undefeated and head back to Death Valley to play the visiting 24th ranked West Virginia Mountaineers.

Game ball award to Freeman RB LSU - 15 car,101 yds, 2TD

Re: Geaux For Gold

In a dominating performance the Tigers of LSU routed the Mountaineers 45-29. However the score doesn't particularly emphasize how close this game really was. Where the rushing game for LSU wasn't making ground (115) the passing game made up for it with an aerial attack of 335 yards. In the process of throwing for so many yards Jefferson set the school record for most thrown touchdowns in a single game (6) - West Virginia had narrowed the 24-7 deficit at the half by three points until an interception mounted a 21 point run in the 4th quarter for the Tigers. Flocka was the go to receiver as he scored 5 times gaining 245 yards of receiving on top of that. The Tigers handed West Virginia it's first loss of the season with this convincing shellacking.

Game ball awarded to Flocka WR - 12 rec, 245 yds, 5TD
