Re: Coaching Legacy of Landyn Michaels (NCAA 11)

Rough Road for Louisville
Sure a weak Louisville team had to open the season up against the projected favorites of the Ol' West Conference, but coach Landyn Michaels really thought they had a shot to win this one. "You know, this was such a heartbreak to our team...We really thought we could have gotten the job done, and when we woke up in the 2nd quarter, I felt the game was ours." Said Landyn...And you know, had it not been for the 102yd kickoff return, and the three turnovers Louisville put on the board, they could have possibly won the game. All three turnovers allowed the the Wildcats to start on the other side of the 50, so it was easy scoring territory for a semi-potent Arizona offense. And unfortunately for the Cardinals, it doesn't get easier as next week they face a crazy scoring Auburn offense led behind the arm and legs of QB, Cam Newton.

Coldest Football game I ever attended was the H-Bowl in Boise when BSU played Louisville. It was like 5 degrees outside with a wind chill factor of -10. My Hot choclate was cold before I even made it back to my seat.

Haha I know what you mean...I spent 3 years in Alaska, and remember going to the tail-end of the High School Playoffs.

Re: Coaching Legacy of Landyn Michaels (NCAA 11)

Stolen Victory
A week after a heartbreaking loss for Louisville, they knew they had to do something to forget about the week 1 blues, but then again, they knew who was coming to Louisville for a game. "We have to get the running game going to open up our passing lanes...We also need our defense to try and stay in there for us against Auburn. Our number one plan is stopping [Cam] Newton, however, they can kill us with the running game too so we have to be extra cautious on how we attack," said Coach Michaels in a pre-game interview. The defense did the best they could to contain the attack of Newton, but still gave up 48, even though they did play much stronger in the 2nd half. "You know, I told those guys that we weren't going to fall flat again like last week, and I wanted these guys to go out there and earn the victory and play like they want to be on this team," Michaels said during half time. The offense was on all cylinders, minus the 3 interceptions thrown by Burke. "This was a game-time decision and I think he was just nervous to go out there...I was very surprised with his play and if he can keep his composure like he did, and integrate the running game, most specifically the WR rushing routes, I think he has a very good shot at being the #1 starter for this year." Louisville has another SEC foe next week in taking on Florida State who will probably be in the Top 25 after knocking off #14 Miami this week.

Re: Coaching Legacy of Landyn Michaels (NCAA 11)

Sweating 'Till the End
The Louisville Cardinals football team must want coach Landyn Michaels to have a heart attack at a very young age. All three games so far this year have been barn burners and this one may have been the hottest yet. Up 28-7 at halftime over visiting #21 Florida State, Louisville would find a way to almost give the game away. "I know I have harped on the defense for not playing to their potential, but today had nothing to do with them. What caused this game to get out of hand like this was the fact that we keep turning the ball over," Michaels said after the game. While Burke was very accurate today, he still needs to calm down and not try to force passes in there that result in interceptions. The rushing game also played a big role again today and Louisville running back, Bilal Powell would record his first 100 yard rushing game of the year after rushing for 122 yards on 25 attempts. Next week Louisville plays host to yet another SEC foe in Georgia. We would try to put a prediction on this one, but with the way the Cardinals have played, we aren't sure what'll happen...Guess that's how football go!
