Dynasty Idea: Could use suggestions
So last time I tried a dynasty thread I couldn't keep up with life. Now that a few things have changed (Masters research paper finished, father's funeral and estate cleared up, health issues much better), I have time to actually play NCAA again.
Here's the idea I was tinkering with. The big 12 actually didn't stay together after losing NE and CO. I realize that not having super power 13+ member conferences would require creative shuffling, but I have that figured out, I think.
The questions, which would people think would be:
A) More Fun
B) More interesting to see play out
I tend to end my own dynasties when I buy the next game, so this could last awhile, if I do a thread it would be updated every 1-4 days.
Here are my ideas:
1)
Oklahoma & Oklahoma State jump to Pac 10, Texas goes Independent, A&M joins Big East, Missouri/Kansas/Kansas State go to the MWC which gets a BCS bid, Iowa State goes to the Big 10, and Baylor & Texas Tech go to the WAC. A few other expansions would have to happen, and I would essentially create one BCS conference that isn't deserving (the Big East would be a small 8 team conference with no powers). The ISU move to the Big 10 would create a non BCS big 10 conference, but given the power of that conference getting into a BCS bowl game shouldn't be a problem, although recruiting would be more difficult.
2) Oklahoma & Oklahoma State & Texas jump to the Pac 10.
A&M goes to the SEC, Texas Tech & Baylor go to Conference USA, Kansas and Kansas State and Iowa State go to the WAC, and Missouri joins the Big East.
3) Texas goes Independent. Missouri joins the Big 10. A&M joins the SEC. Oklahoma & Oklahoma State join the Pac 10. Kansas & Kansas State join the MWC. Iowa State joins the WAC. Texas Tech and Baylor join the Big East.
4) The SEC expands to 13 teams, adding A&M. Texas goes Independent, Oklahoma & Oklahoma State go to Pac 10, KSU/KU/MO go to the Mountain West, Texas Tech & Baylor join The Big East, and ISU joins the WAC/MAC.
#1 is what I am leaning towards. I am planning on running Missouri in this, with a slight possibility of playing as Kansas State. In my honest opinion had the Big 12 fallen apart, without having access to 16 team conferences, I think #1 is pretty close to reality as if the MWC had added MO/KSU/KU I highly doubt BYU/TCU would have headed off to greener pastures.
What do you think?
