Re: He's Back! Baker back to coach the Eastern Michigan Eagles

Erin Andrews Reporting: With the recent success of coach Dan Baker at his many coaching endeavors throughout the country and across the many sports in the country his many teams are taking notice. Because of that notice two members of Baker’s family have been signed to contracts to be assistant coaches at two of the lesser schools across the country.

His father, Dave Baker, has been signed to be the defensive coordinator for the Army Black Knights, the Knights have had a resurgence lately and Baker looks to keep the team rolling at least from the defensive side of the ball.

His brother, Derek Baker, has been signed by the Utah State Aggies to be their offensive coordinator. The Aggies have had a rough stretch lately and are one of the teams left in the Western Athletic Conference that will still be there come next season, (Fresno State, Nevada and Hawaii will all join the MWC). If Baker can turn the program around there is no telling where he will stop.

I will not be doing write ups on the games, I will simply inform everyone on how their games go at the end of my weekly wrap up. I am also thinking of allowing users here to create a coach at a 1 star school and work their way up depending on how this goes.

(As I have already played a few games I have found the only fair way to be OC is to have my tempo set on conservative until 2 minutes left in the game, and luckily having army’s offense they take a lot of time off the clock so times should be fair as far as I can tell.)

Re: He's Back! Baker back to coach the Eastern Michigan Eagles

Note: No pictures as I forgot completely, will have more extensive coverage of games when they aren't FCS teams (I really do not like them in the game but i like to keep a real schedule for season 1)

Eagles win first game in style

Ypsilanti, (AP) – In the first game of the 2011 season the Eastern Michigan Eagles were supposed to play against the Howard Bison, the Bison were unable to make the game and the Eagles were forced to play against little known FCS East. The FCS team was clearly no match for even the lowly Eagles as they were blown out of the water 51-17.

The game changing performance was when late in 1st quarter when Darius Moffett forced a fumble in the backfield while the Eagles were up only 10-7. Jaron Gillespie scooped up the ball and went 37yds for the score, the rest of the game turned into a barn burner.

Nick Olds scored two touchdowns (He won a Heisman in NCAA 2011 for me), and backup running back Corey Welch scored 3 different times, once receiving and twice on the ground.

After the game Erin Andrews caught up with Coach Baker:
EA: How do you feel after the game?
DB: I feel like it was a good tune up game for the team, we have another one next week against FCS SouthEast but after that we start playing ball with the big boys.
EA: Good luck coach.
