Re: Marvin Harrison-Return to Football (NCAA '12 Dynasty)
Syracuse Crushed at home, 44-17
The Clemson Tigers were too overmatched for Syracuse at the Carrier Dome. The offensive line allowed so many sacks, which led to many errant throws by junior QB Ryan Nassib.
In the first quarter, Syracuse tacked on a field goal to capp off their first possesion, and Clemson did the same. There was very little offense for both sides.
In the second, Clemson's Andre Ellington pounded the ball into the endzone from one yard out, giving Clemson the early advantage after a Nassib interception. Syracuse responded on their next drive by punching it in from eight yards out with senior Antwon Bailey. After the teams traded punts, Ellington scored again from three yards out for Clemson, and at the half it was 17-10 Clemson.
In the third, true freshman Sammy Watkins caught 9 yard score from Tahj Boyd, pushing the score to 24-10. Then on the next drive, Dorian Graham caught a touchdown pass from Nassib, pulling Syracuse back into the game. 24-17 after the third.
In the fourth, Clemson proved to be too much. Tahj Boyd hooked up with Watkins again, this time from 23 yards out to push the score to 31-17. Then, Ryan Nassib threw an interception on the Clemson 7-yard line, and Boyd took advantage, leading a long drive and hooking up with Ellington from 17. And yet again, Nassib threw another interception, and that paved way for a 69 yard touchdown run from Ellington, sealing the win.
When OC Marvin Harrison was asked about his team's performance, he said "I am furious with the play of our offensive line. They couldn't hold up a pass rush to save their lives! Expect to see some changes after this game on the line. I dont blame Ryan for the interceptions, he had to scramble every down because of our line.''
Next week will not be easy on Syracuse, as they travel to #15 Michigan State to take on the Spartans.
