BCS top 16 and what seeding they get
#1/#2 get #1 seeds
#3/#4 get #2 seeds
#5/#6 get #3 seeds
#7/#8 get #4 seeds
#9/#10 get #5 seeds
#11/#12 get #6 seeds
#13/#14 get #7 seeds
#15/#16 get #8 seeds.

there would be 2 8 team brackets. now u are wondering about matchups. well i would give the higher ranked 1 seed the lower ranked 8 seed. Meaning say LSU was #1 in the bcs, well they would get the #16 team in the BCS in there bracket as the 8th seed, so then on the other side of the bracket, the #2 BCS team who has the other #1 seed, would then face the #15 overall BCS team as the 8th seed on there side. and so on.....

I may still try this as this wouldnt take as long to do as a full dynasty but i dont want anyone to think im copying anyone lol. it would be interested to see.

speaking of dynastys i have one going right now.. Iam in my 3rd season. towards the end of the season.. the link to it is below. thanks.
Well, I, for one, wouldn't think you're copying me at least. I like your idea, and would love to see how it plays out. For mine, I was trying to do away with the BCS altogether. And, yeah, I decided to do it with injuries off. Hopefully an update or two is coming on Friday.

Re: 2011 NCAA Football Season, ends in 32 team tournament (NCAA 12)

I'm still doing this, I haven't given up! My internet's been choppy lately (turns out all I needed to do was restart my computer).
That being said I'm in the middle of week 10 now, and will post a post-week 10 update tomorrow, With Thanksgiving break coming up (and four straight days off work), I'm hoping to be caught up to the "present day" by Saturday.

Re: 2011 NCAA Football Season, ends in 32 team tournament (NCAA 12)

Here are the teams that are still alive. (have not clinched win totals less than 8, i.e. 5 losses eliminates a team unless they play in their conference championship game). Also, Miami (FL) and USC will not partake in the tournament as they are not going to bowl games this year.

ACC
Florida State (7-3)
North Carolina (7-3)
Clemson (6-4)
Boston College (6-4)
Virginia Tech (6-4)

Big 12
Texas A&M (9-1)
Oklahoma State (7-3)
Oklahoma (7-2)
Missouri (6-4)
Texas (6-3)
Baylor (5-4)

Big East
South Florida (7-2)
Cincinnati (7-2)
West Virginia (7-3)
Rutgers (6-4)
Connecticut (7-2)
Louisville (6-4)

Big Ten
Nebraska (9-1)
Michigan State (9-1)
Iowa (8-2)
Penn State (7-3)
Michigan (7-3)
Ohio State (6-4)
Wisconsin (6-4)
Northwestern (6-4)
Purdue (6-4)

Pac-12
Stanford (10-0)
Oregon (9-1)
Utah (7-3)
California (7-3)
Oregon State (6-4)
Arizona State (6-4)

SEC
Alabama (8-2)
Auburn (8-2)
Arkansas (7-3)
Tennessee (7-3)
LSU (7-3)
South Carolina (7-3)
Ole Miss (7-3)
Mississippi State (7-3)

Conference USA
Houston (10-0)
UCF (9-1)
ECU (7-3)
SMU (7-3)
Tulsa (7-3)
Southern Miss (7-3)

Independents
Notre Dame (8-2)

MAC
Ohio (9-1)
Temple (7-3)
Toledo (7-3)
Western Michigan (6-4)
Northern Illinois (6-4)

Mountain West
San Diego State (8-1)
Boise State (7-2)
Air Force (7-3)
TCU (7-3)

Sun Belt
Arkansas State (7-3)
Troy (6-3)
FIU (6-4)

WAC
Utah State (7-2)
Nevada (7-2)
Hawai'I (5-4)

61 teams are still eligible (just over 50% of the FBS), with only 32 spots in the tournament, it's going to interesting to see this list dwindle over the last few weeks.

Re: 2011 NCAA Football Season, ends in 32 team tournament (NCAA 12)

Big Games for Week 12

#16 Miami FL @ South Florida - a win at home for USF will do wonders for them, if they don't win the Big East

Cincinnati @ Rutgers - Cincinnati can put Rutgers away for good

Louisville @ Connecticut - Louisville has no shot to win the Big East, so they need to win out to stay in contention for an at large birth

#21 Miss St. @ #9 Arkansas - The losing team is put on the brink of elimination, with their 4th loss

SMU @ #17 Houston - Houston's the only undefeated team besides Stanford, winning this game keeps them on track for an automatic birth, and puts SMU one game away from being eliminated

#2 Nebraska @ Michigan - Michigan has 3 losses already, a big game before an ever bigger game against OSU next week

#20 USC @ #5 Oregon - Oregon looks to bolster its resume for a number 1 seed in the tournament

#6 Boise St. @ #22 San Diego St. - Boise State isn't used to having three losses in a season, even though a third loss wouldn't hurt them, a fourth really would

Boston College @ # 11 Notre Dame - Notre Dame can oust BC from the tourney with a win

#7 LSU @ Ole Miss - Like the Arkansas/Miss State matchup, both teams have three losses, thought LSU would still be ranked with a loss

California @ #1 Stanford - Stanford can remain undefeated and eliminate Cal with a win

#9 Oklahoma @ Baylor - Baylor needs this win at home to stay in contention for an at large birth

#14 UCF @ ECU - A win for UCF would almost guarantee a birth in the tournament

UNC @ Virginia Tech - Va Tech is on the verge of being eliminated, a home game might help them stay alive

Clemson @ NC State - Clemson needs a win against a sub-.500 foe
Penn State @ Ohio State - A loss here eliminates the Buckeyes, though missing the tournament would be tough, playing spoiler against Michigan next week could still be worth fighting for
