New York Jets Franchise: Season 1 (Madden 12)

New York Jets Franchise

Pre-Season:
Game 1 @ Texans: L 24-21 ( OT )
Game 2 vs. Bengals: W 35-7
Game 3 @ Giants: W 21-18
Game 4 @ Eagles: W 24-3

The pre-season is over and the regular season is about to begin! It should be an exciting year for the Jets, as they have seen their Super Bowl hopes come up short for the past few seasons. This year, Gang Green hopes it can finally dig deeper into the play-offs by not only getting past the AFC Championship, but finally making a Super Bowl appearance which they fell just short of last season.

Although pre-season games are meant for seeing mostly what the secondary and third stringers can do, we also get a chance to see what some of our starters will be shaping up to look like for the regular season. The offense is led by QB Mark Sanchez, who had a superb pre-season and looks healthy and fit and ready to begin the regular season. “I’m hungry for a Super Bowl!” Sanchez says after the final pre-season game against Philadelphia.

Alongside Sanchez will be Tomlinson at half-back and Holmes at wide receiver, along with returning tight end D. Keller. In addition to Holmes at wide-out is the newest acquisition, Plaxico Burress who enters his first season back in the NFL after spending two years in prison. D. Revis and A. Cromartie also return to the Jets defense and look to remind everyone why they are arguably one of the best defenses in the league.

It should be an exciting season ahead of us as the Jets look to take down the Dallas Cowboys at home in New Jersey in week 1 of the 2011 NFL campaign!

Re: New York Jets Franchise: Season 1 (Madden 12)

New York Jets Franchise

Game Information: VS. Dallas Cowboys, New Meadowlands Stadium, 70 Degrees, Clear Skies

Brief Summary:

Despite an opening drive interception, a couple of forced fumbles, and an early 3-0 lead for the Dallas Cowboys, Mark Sanchez was able to lead the New York Jets to a 24-10 victory over the Dallas Cowboys in the season opener at the New Meadowlands Stadium. Not only were interceptions and fumbles part of a sloppy performance by New York, but the kicker Nick Folk also missed two field goals which could have tied and put the Jets in the lead earlier in the game. Although those two missed field goals could have changed the game early on, Sanchez was able to connect with D. Keller twice in the endzone, which would prove pivotal as the Jets rallied to win 24-10 as the Cowboys defense couldn’t stop the Jets over powering offense.

Quarter by Quarter Scoring Summary:

1st: D. Baily kicks a 52 yard FG, 3-0 DAL.
2nd: D. Keller 64 yard pass from M. Sanchez, N. Folk FG, 7-3 NYJ.

Re: New York Jets Franchise: Season 1 (Madden 12)

New York Jets Franchise

Brief Summary:
Mark Sanchez had just a 38.2% passer rating, but his 251 passing yards and two passing touchdowns were enough to get passed the Jacksonville Jaguars, who struggled mightily on offense and defense. The first 9 points of the game were scored on three field goal attempts made by Nick Folk who gave the Jets an early 9-0 lead. Tomlinson was able to find the endzone in the third quarter for the first touchdown of the game, which would give the Jets a comfortable 15-0 lead heading into the 4th quarter. Sanchez, who struggled for most of the game under the rainy weather conditions, was finally able to add to the Jets’ offensive explosion as he was able to find Keller and Holmes in the endzone, which would eventually lead to the final score of 29-0.

Re: New York Jets Franchise: Season 1 (Madden 12)

New York Jets Franchise

Game Information: @ Baltimore Ravens (3-0 ), M&T Bank Stadium, 82 Degrees, Clear Skies

Brief Summary:
Both offenses didn’t really show up, but it would be the defense that would keep both of these teams in the game, until the very end. With seconds remaining in the second quarter, Tomlinson broke through the Ravens defense and was able to drive down the field for 80 yards, giving his team the lead 10-3 headed into the half. The third quarter would stay quiet, as both teams were unable to put any points on the board and the score remained 10-3 in favor of the Jets. Early in the 4th, Folk kicked a 22 yard field goal, putting his team up by two possessions with a score of 13-3. Still, the Ravens showed why they were also 3-0 coming into the game and were able to drive down the field and score. Unfortunately, the score would only be a field goal, still giving the Jets time with the ball with only two minutes remaining in the 4th. On the first play of the drive, Sanchez called an audible and caught the Ravens defense by surprise, as he found a wide open Santanio Holmes for a 47 yard touchdown pass. This touchdown would prove to be the icing on the cake, as the Jets went on to win their 4th straight with a final score of 20-6 and giving Baltimore it’s first loss of the season.

Quarter by Quarter Scoring Summary:

1st: N. Folk kicks 47 yard FG, 3-0 NYJ.
2nd: Cundiff kicks 29 yard FG, 3-3 Tie game. L Tomlinson scores 80 yard rushing TD. 10-3 NYJ.
3rd: No Scoring.
4th: N. Folk kicks 22 yard FG, 13-3 NYJ. Cundiff kicks 27 yard FG, 13-6 NYJ. M. Sanchez 47 yard pass to S. Holmes, 20-6 NYJ.

Re: New York Jets Franchise: Season 1 (Madden 12)

New York Jets Franchise

Game Information: @ New England Patriots (3-1), Gillette Stadium, 84 Degrees, Rain

Brief Summary: If this wasn’t the most embarrassing game for Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, than what could be? Tom Brady may have put on the worst performance of his career by getting sacked more than five times, being picked off three times, and being forced to fumble the ball twice. Revis and Cromartie who led the Jets’ defense, were able to pick Brady off and run it back for a touchdown. On the opposite side, the Jets played phenomenal. Despite being picked off twice, Mark Sanchez was able to throw over 170 yards and find the end zone twice. This was an easy 48-0 victory for the Jets, when many thought this could be the game of the year!

Quarter by Quarter Scoring Summary:

1st: L. Tomlinson scores a 3 yard TD, PAT is good, 7-0 NYJ. N. Folk kicks a 39 yard FG, 10-0 NYJ.
2nd: K. Wilson picks off T. Brady, runs back over 40 yards for a TD, PAT is good, 17-0 NYJ. D. Revis picks off T. Brady, runs back over 60 yards for a TD, PAT is good, 24-0 NYJ. 48 yard TD pass from M. Sanchez to P. Burress, PAT is good, 31-0 NYJ. N. Folk kicks a 29 yard FG, 34-0 NYJ.
3rd: 10 yard passing TD from M. Sanchez to S. Holmes, PAT is good, 41-0 NYJ. 4th: L. Tomlinson scores a 9 yard TD, PAT is good, 48-0 NYJ.

Final Score: Jets 48 Patriots 0

Re: New York Jets Franchise: Season 1 (Madden 12)

New York Jets Franchise

Game Information: vs. Miami Dolphins (1-3), New Meadowlands Stadium, 67 Degrees, Clear Skies

Brief Summary:
The New York Jets defense continued it’s dominance against the Miami Dolphins at home this week. After the Jets defense didn’t allow the New England Patriots to score at all last week, the Dolphins were only able to score on a field goal made by kicker D. Carpenter. The games first touchdown was scored on an interception made by A. Cromartie who ran the ball back for a touchdown. That would be the only score that the Jets would need to win this one, although they managed to score another touchdown on a pass to S. Holmes and two field goals made by N. Folk, giving the Jets a total of 20 points for the game. The Jets continue their hot streak, winning their first six games of the season!

Quarter by Quarter Scoring Summary:

1st: A. Cromartie picks off C. Henne, runs back for TD, PAT is good, 7-0 NYJ.
2nd: N. Folk kicks 34 yard FG, 10-0 NYJ. 51 yard TD pass from M. Sanchez to S. Holmes, PAT is good, 17-0 NYJ. D. Carpenter kicks 21 yard FG, 17-3 NYJ.
3rd: (no scoring)
4th: N. Folk kicks 27 yard field goal, 20-3 NYJ.

Final Score: Jets 20 Dolphins 3

Key Stats:
A. Cromartie: 2 INT, 1 Touchdown

Next Game: vs. San Diego Chargers (3-2)
