Thanks man! Ya they are awful.... But I figured it would be that more rewarding rebuilding them. I'm hoping it being the MAC will help. We will see though

It will help get wins, but it will hurt recruiting once you hit the 3* mark.

Week 1 Preview
Matchup Preview | September 3, 2011
@
Akron Zips
(, Away)

#6 Ohio State Buckeyes
(, Home)

Key Ohio State Players
WR Devier Posey Sr 6’2” 213 lbs (93)
HB Dan Herron Sr(RS) 5’10” 202 lbs (92)
RE Nathan Williams Sr 6’3” 260 lbs (92)
Prediction
This is Ryan Grier's first game as a head coach and what a test it is. Akron is outgunned at all positions and there is not one aspect of this game that says the Zips can win. They will have to hope Luke Fickell in his first game as HC of the Buckeyes forgets what time the game is and Akron wins by forfeit as that's the only shot they have. Look for Boom to run wild as the Buckeyes win 56-3

Games of Note
#14 TCU at Baylor
RGIII will lead the Bears into battle against the 14th ranked Horned Frogs. TCU is breaking in a new QB as Andy Dalton graduated to the NFL last season. TCU also has some holes on defense to replace but never doubt a Dick Bumphis D. Look for the Horned Frogs to outlast the Bears strong offense 42-38

#8 Boise State at Georgia
It wasn't too long ago that the Broncos traveled to Athens only to get whooped by the home Bulldogs. This season the Broncos return but as the favorite and looking for revenge. Both teams boast outstanding QBs in Boise's senior Kellen Moore and UGA's sophomore Aaron Murray. The difference in this game is defense and experience giving the Broncos the slight 21-17 nod

Game of the Week
#5 Oregon at #4 LSU
Gameday traveled to Baton Rouge to see the #4 LSU Tigers host the #5 Ducks. Oregon is coming off a national championship loss from 2010 and looking to get some SEC tiger revenge with a win Saturday. However they will have to deal with a potent LSU defense and some talented offensive players. If Jordan Jefferson can play well look for LSU to get the 20-10 win over the Ducks

Re: Akron Zips (NCAA 12 Dynasty)

Buckeyes Shut Out Zips

Corey Brown hauled in 3 TD catches on the day

Columbus, OH --
Most people expected a beatdown by the Buckeyes Saturday when Ryan Grier's Akron Zips visited Columbus and they were not disappointed. Both coaches were coaching their first game as HCs. It was two completely different results for the two. Luke Fickell's team open the season with a sound 49-0 trouncing of Ryan Grier's Zips. Joe Bauserman looked outstanding for the Buckeyes and their D was impossible to solve for the visiting MAC squad.

Joe Bauserman earned POTG honors with his 300+ yd and 5 TD performance

Bauserman spread the ball around but his favorite two targets were Devier Posey and Corey Brown. Posey delivered more flash plays while Brown found the endzone. They combined to catch 4 of Bauserman's 5 TD passes. On the ground Dan Herron struggled to get much of anything going in the first half. In the 2nd though when the Buckeyes were looking to pound the ball he took over. Boom lowered the boon quite a few times on Akron defensive players.

Devier Posey makes an impressive 52 yd catch

The one bright spot for the Zips was Dale Martin. The senior talback was able to fight for 102 yds. However it wasn't good news at the QB position. Patrick Nicely struggled under the Buckeye pass rush including being sacked 3 straight times when Akron actually was in FG range early in the 2nd quarter. Coach Grier let Clayton Moore take a few snaps in the 3rd but the sophomore fared no better going 3 of 10 passing. All in all it was a day to forget for the Zips

Dale Martin put together the only decent game for the Zips

FINAL SCORE: Akron 0 #6 Ohio State 49

After the game Coach Grier was not happy. "Of course we knew this would be a tough opening game for our kids but we should never be shut out. I was hoping we would at least make them earn it but instead we just got a our butts kicked." Akron will look to rebound next week as their home opener against Temple will kickoff conference play. The Owls defeated a FCS team last week so the Zips will not have much game film to use. Coach Grier promised the fans as did a number of players that they would be ready for the Owls.

Player of the Game: Joe Bauserman 13-19 328 yds 5 TD

Key Players
Akron
Patrick Nicely 7-15 41 yds
Clayton Moore 3-10 15 yds INT
Dale Martin 19 carries 102 yds
Richard Hall 5 rec 31 yds
Gary Pride 4 rec 22 yds
LT Smith 9 tackles TFL
Brian Wagner 6 tackles TFL
John Griggs 3 tackles TFL sack
James Harvey tackles TFL sack

Ohio State
Dan Herron 20 carries 134 yds TD
Devier Posey 4 rec 149 yds TD
Corey Brown 4 rec 96 yds 3 TD
Storm Klein 10 tackles 2 TFL sack

Re: Akron Zips (NCAA 12 Dynasty)

The Ducks Escape With Dramatic Comeback Win

Rob Beard knocks through the last 2nd FG to give the Ducks the 34-31 come from behind win

Oregon came into the final quarter trailing by 14 but two TDs within 14 seconds of each with just over 2 minutes to play drastically altered the complexion of the game. LSU turned the ball over 4 times including a pick 6 with 2:02 to go that tied the game. Darron Thomas lead an impressive last second drive to set up the game winning FG by Rob Bears

Final Score: #5 Oregon 34 #4 LSU 31

Richard Samuel owned the Broncos

#8 Boise State was hoping to make a big statement in Athens Saturday. Instead the Broncos got beat soundly by an overwhelming rushing attack and a stifling defense. Kellen Moore went 18-37 for 234 yds and 2 TDs. However UGA was unstoppable in the final quarter scoring 21 unanswered to get the W

Final Score: #8 Boise State 17 Georgia 31

The Bears won a wild one in Waco

Robert Griffin III made a huge statement Saturday passing for over 500 yds and 5 TDs. Ed Wesley responded with 128 yds and 2 TDs of his own for TCU but it wasn't enough as Baylor scored last to pull the 55-48 upset. It was by far the most entertaining game of the weekend and has some wondering around the country if the Bears might make some noise in the Big 12 this season

Final Score: #14 TCU 48 Baylor 55

Around the NCAA

Robert Griffin was impressive throwing for 502 yds and 5 TDs against #14 TCU

~AP~ The man of the week from this weekend is Baylor QB Robert Griffin III who torched the Horned Frog defense Saturday in Baylor's incredible 55-48 win. Win asked after the game about his performance Griffin responded, "I just did what the team needed of me. We knew going in it might turn into an offensive slugfest and we just have to be the better offense." Baylor moved into the top 25 this weekend after their upset and will be off this week.

Prediction (1-0)
Temple brings a pair of talented RBs that both went over the centrury mark last weekend. Akron is coming off of a rough outing in Columbus and hoping to get a home opening win. Patrick Nicely must find some kind of rhythm in the passing game and the Zip defense must find an answer for the Temple rushing attack. Expect Akron to actually score this weekend but to still fall short as Temple leaves with 28-17 win

Games of Note
#12 South Carolina 1-0 at #22 Georgia 1-0
The Gamecocks and Bulldogs kick off SEC play in Athens where the Bulldogs upset #8 Boise State last weekend 31-17. The Gamecocks are lead by stud sophomore Marcus Lattimore who is complemented on the outside by Alshon Jeffrey. Aaron Murray was solid last weekend and will look to up his game this weekend with tailback Richard Samuel coming off a 2 TD day. With homefield advantage and momentum from last week's win expect the Bulldogs to pull this one out 27-21

#18 Mississippi State 1-0 at #11 Auburn 1-0
Both teams opened the season with easy wins over patsy teams Memphis and Utah State. Now the two will face off in Jordan Hare in an early important SEC bout. There is some bad blood lingering here between the two school after the Cam Newton scandal. It's tough to win in Jordan Hare so look for the Tigers to pull this one out 35-28

#20 Notre Dame 1-0 at Michigan 1-0
Both of these teams are looking to return to their former glory and a win Saturday would be big for both. Brady Hoke's team will rely on early Heisman candidate Denard Robinson to lead the Wolverines to victory. Brian Kelly's team is still looking for a sure fire answer at QB but WR Michael Floyd makes life easier for either man. Notre Dame looks strong early but the Wolverines should prove too much winning 21-13

Game of the Week
#2 Alabama 1-0 at Penn State 1-0
Joe Paterno will look to pull a huge upset over Nick Saban's tide. Trent Richardson is the cog of the Bama offense while the defense is just smothering with Donte Hightower and Courtney Upshaw leading the way. The Nittany Lions will look to their RB Silas Redd to lead the way however PSU fans shouldn't get their hopes up. 35-9 Alabama
