OFFENSE NONEXISTENT AGAINST PATRIOTS The Dolphins offensive struggles continued this week against New England, they only totaled 159 yards. They lost the game 17-14. Contributing to the terrible statistics was David Garrard, who only passed for 98 yards with a 40% completion percentage. He was also picked off and had a fumble. Reggie Bush didn't help either, he only ran for 53 yards and put the ball on the ground 3 times in just 15 carries. Dolphin fans were again calling for Ryan Tannehill to be put into the game, but Coach Philbin doesn't want to rush anything. "There's a big difference between college football and the NFL. It's a tough transition to make. A transition that takes time." Said Philbin, "You can't just rush a rookie quarterback onto the field. Our offensive struggles are concerning though, and changes are going to have to be made." The changes that Philbin may be referring to could still be at the quarterback position. Matt Moore is returning from a broken jaw and is poised to take back his starting spot. A change at running back could also be in order. Bush has a bad case of fumblitis and isn't producing. Though he won't be completely shunned from the offense, look for backups David Thomas and Steve Slaton to get significantly more reps. It's not all doom and gloom for Miami. The defense just held one of the best offenses to 10 points, although Brady was knocked out of the game near the end of the 3rd quarter. The special teams looked good after giving up a kick return for a touchdown on the first play of the game. The adjustment made? Jimmy Blade. After the touchdown Blade was put in onto the kickoff and punt team units. He recorded 3 special teams tackles and his bone jarring hits fired up the rest of the special teams unit. With just under 4 minutes to go in the game the punt team recovered a fumble and returned it for a touchdown, putting the Dolphins to within 3 points of New England. Garrard and the offense couldn't capitalize however, even after taking over at the 45 yard line with 2 minutes to go in the game. Jimmy Blade finished with 6 tackles on the day and intercepted a Brian Hoyer pass intended for Julian Edelman in the 4th quarter. Starting Free Safety Chris Clemons suffered a concussion and is expected to miss up to a month of play. Veteran Yeremiah Bell will be his replacement. Tom Brady is fine and is expected to return next week. The Dolphins face the lowly 1-9 Bills at home next week. Perfect match-up for Moore to get back into the swing of things. Code:

DEFENSE STRUGGLES IN WIN OVER BILLS Last week the Dolphins defense was outstanding and the offense was terrible, this week the opposite can be said. Miami’s defense gave up 428 yards to the 1-9 Bills. Meanwhile on offense Matt Moore came back from his injury passing for more than 300 yards. He threw 3 interceptions, but he was under constant pressure all game and was sacked 6 times. As expected Reggie Bush took on a smaller role and actually produced better than before. Daniel Thomas got the bulk of the carries (22) while Reggie only had 10. In those 10 rushes Bush gained 63 yards and scored the game winning touchdown with just over 2 minutes to go in the 4th quarter. It was an electrifying run where Bush bounced the ball to the outside then successfully juked one defender and spun out of a tackle from another as he cut back inside for the score. Bush also had 4 receptions on the day and has taken over kick and punt return duties.  Jimmy Blade had an injury that forced him to watch from the sideline for 2 quarters. In the middle of the 2nd quarter he suffered a pinch nerve as he tackled Fred Jackson. Blade was on a roll and already had 5 tackles and a pass deflection before suffering the injury. It is important to note that while Blade sat out during the 3rd quarter the Dolphins gave up two touchdowns of 40+ yards; both came on the right side of the field where Jimmy normally plays. Blade came back midway through the 4th quarter and still lead the team in tackles with 7, despite missing half of the game. The Dolphins will play host to the 4-7 Raiders next week. Code:
