Florida State Destroys UL-Monroe, 68-14

Despite Late Start, Seminoles Clip Warhawks

Louisiana-Monroe kept it interesting for the first quarter and beginning of the second quarter. Then Florida State turned it into a blowout. The Seminoles combined for 689 yards of total offense, and easily routed the Warhawks, 68-14.

After a Jyruss Edwards touchdown to cut Florida State's lead to 17-14, the Seminoles would take the game and run away with it, scoring the final 51 points of the game.

Devonta Freeman ran for 167 yards on 19 carries for 2 touchdowns, and Jermaine Thomas added 125 yards and 3 touchdowns to lead the Seminoles.

EJ Manuel had a great game altogether, throwing for 265 yards and 3 touchdowns, also rushing for 81 yards, including a 77 yard touchdown scamper in the 2nd quarter.

Florida State's defense also was pretty stout, sacking ULM QB Kolton Browning 7 times.

Florida State next takes on FCS Southeast in another game considered to be a tune-up before they take on current #1 Oklahoma.

Seminole News

- WR Kenny Shaw suffered a torn pectoral muscle in Saturday's win over Louisiana-Monroe. He will miss at least the next 3 games.

- The Seminoles have reeled in one of the top running backs in the nation in Aran Woodard out of Coral Terrace, Florida. Woodard is the #3 running back prospect in the nation, and will join a crowded backfield next season along with Devonta Freeman, James Wilder, and Chris Thompson. DE Will Hill from Center Point, Alabama, and T Calvin McDowell from Palm Bay, Florida have also commited to Florida State.
