Re: From Matadors to Red Raiders : The "Renaissance" of Texas Tech
Self-Destruction
Post-Game Press Conference – September 29th 2012
Journalist #1:What’s your final thought on this 29-21 loss Coach?
HC Beaule:We did things good; we did things really bad. When you turned the ball over against a team that good, you’re going to pay the price. It was close in 1st quarter, we we’re driving, we miss an open guy, and we miss a FG. We turned the ball over while driving in their zone, they came back and score. When it was 13-0, we had another chance, but the fumble really hurt us in worst way possible. We played a strong 4th quarter, even got back in the game, but again, we blew an assignment, Jones red it and we we’re toasted.
Journalist #2:Is the team play in the 4th quarter something to build on?
HC Beaule :I would say yes, but again, we we’re trailing by 20 points and its normal for their defense, even if they don’t want to, to relax a bit. What made me happy was I seen the real Seth Doege in the 4th quarter. No hesitation, steps back and boom, on the money. Guys showed resiliency, didn’t want to be embarrassed at home. It’s all things we have to build on, but like I said, the mistake we made on the Landry 76 yd run was inexcusable. First time this year the defense let us down.
Journalist #1:Another Top 10 team coming to town, you guys are due, don’t you think?
HC Beaule:We’ll face a strong team in West Virginia and we’ve lost both games against Top 10 team. Each time, we played ok but we killed ourselves with costly turnovers or mistakes. Guys know that if you want to beat the best, you got to avoid turning the ball over. It’s crucial we take care of the pigskin. As far as being due, there’s no such thing in my world. We won 3 games so far, loses 2, and we have the record we deserve. We could play better and it’s the only way we’ll won this year with our schedule. If we expect gifts, we’ll eat our lunch for sure.
Journalist #2:13 guys coming in for a visit this week, anything special planned for them?
HC Beaule:We’ve been preparing for a #3 ranked team last week, we’re preparing for a #8 team this week, so the visiting guys will have a chance to watch practice, talk with veterans, have a good lunch with coaches and learn a lot in the video room. We’ll make sure these kids understand that we’re a serious organisation and building to be a contender. It’s not an easy Conference, we have a tough schedule, but I assume that the best way to become a better football player is to play against the best, not build a record on easy teams. I’ll let the kids know what Texas Tech is all about and what they should expect next year. Thanks ladies and gentlemen’s.

Yep, the offense isn't producing enough and I'm to blame for that. Let's say I'm a bit inconsistent so far! :-)
I played the game against West Virginia last night and that was pretty entertaining. I'll write up the report either tonight or tomorrow, but there was so much in that game, it was just special. :-)
Thanks for following! :-)

Re: From Matadors to Red Raiders : The "Renaissance" of Texas Tech
Oh, What a Night!
Post-Game Press Conference – October 13th 2012
Journalist #1:Have you any idea it would turn to a 59-21 rout tonight?
HC Beaule:Absolutely not! In fact, my pre-game speech was about keeping in mind that the little things are the difference in such big games. It’s often those little details that will put points on the board and make you win the game. It was just amazing watching our offense unfold like this for the first time this year. They had no answer to what we showed them, and for once, starting on the right foot was the key in this win.
Journalist #2:Your defense was relentless, was it their best game so far?
HC Beaule :Kind of hard to say because we gave so many yards, but that’s normal when you build a lead like we had. The ability we have so far to create turnovers is helping us a lot, and it was a good thing tonight because they we’re able to move the ball. West Virginia as a strong offense so to me, coming out of this one giving 21 points, having 4 interceptions and scoring a major is pretty satisfying. Wouldn’t say it was our best effort overall, but in the end, the result is as much gratifying.
Journalist #1:Was the kickoff return for 102 yard the turning point to you?
HC Beaule:No doubt about it. They just made it 24-14 and a stop on defense for them and they could have gone to the locker room only down by 10, 7 or 3. The return was a knockout punch because it made the game 31-14 but as you saw, we simply dismantled them in the 3rd quarter, scoring 21 points. Most often, on a return like this, the other team will have the wind knocked out, but in that case, it was a direct at the jaw and they never got up. It was great for once that a good return wasn’t called back by a holding penalty.
Journalist #2:13 recruits we're visiting this week, what’s the breakdown on that?
HC Beaule:As of now, 9 guys that visit this week committed to us. It pushes our total to 11 and we’ve filled our needs for next year. Our job doesn’t end there, there are a lot of good guys unsigned and we’ll always try to get the team better. We’ve got our focus on guys that could help us and we’ll work on that in the next few weeks. There are also 6-7 guys that are close to commitment, so we’re pretty happy with our recruiting results so far. All the guys are 3 stars recruits. Thanks guys, we’ll speak after the TCU game.
