HOUSTON, TX -- The Houston Texans started off the 2012 season with a offensive onslaught pounding the Dolphins 48-13 on Sunday in Reliant Stadium. Wade Phillip's defense looked in mid-season form collecting 4 interceptions and sacking QB David Garrard 4 times.

Quaterbackback Matt Schaub, who made his first start since being injured last year, finished the game going 12-24 for 168 yards and 2 touchdowns before sitting out the 2nd half.

Wideout Andre Johnson, who also struggled with injuries last season, was Scaub's favorite target finishing with 8 receptions for 120 yards a 2 touchdowns.

"It felt great being back on the field for a regular season game," said Schaub. "Im back at 100% and hopefully i stay this way the whole year.

Runningback Arian Foster also had a big game rushing for 118 yards and finding paydirt twice.

The Texans will hit the road next week to take on divisional foe the Jacksonville Jaguars.

HOUSTON, TX -- Today the Houston Texans announced that they have signed offensive takle Duane Brown to a contract extension.

The deal is reported to be a 6 year 44.40 million dollar deal.

The 5 year vet is a key part of the Texans zone blocking scheme. Coach Gary Kubiak said it was a top priority to resign Brown.

JACKSONVILLE, FL. -- Division games are always tough, and the Texans/Jaguars AFC South matchup wasn't any different. With their high powered offense, the Texans defeated the Jaguars 30-22 to improve to 2-0 on the young season.

"Every game against these guys are tough," said Coach Kubiak. "Glad we were able to fight them off and get the win. Every division game is key.

Quarterback Matt Schaub completed 21 of 30 passes for 290 yards and 3 touchdowns.

"Credit goes to my offensive line and my receivers. The line did an amazing job at giving me time in the pocket and Andre and the other receivers made my job easy," said Schaub.

Andre Johnson caught 9 passes for 120 and 2 touchdowns. Johnson has 17 catches 257 yards and 4 touchdowns in the first two games of the season.

Runningback Arian Foster had his second straight 100 yard game as he finished with 142 yards.

Maurice Jones-Drew finished with149 yards and 1 touchdown to led the Jags. The Texans will head to Mile High Stadium next week to face peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos.
