Commitment To Excellence - The Oakland Raiders M12 Franchise
July 1st, 2012: Live From The Oakland Coliseum, The Raiders welcome their new General Manager, and former Super Bowl Champion Jim Plunkett who won titles with the Oakland Raiders in 1980, and the Los Angeles Raiders in 1983. Jim Plunkett made this statement to the crowd, "I'm honored to carry the torch Al lit many, many years ago his commitment to excellence, and winning tradition will be upheld. I will put the best players on the field, I will give our coaches the upmost respect when it comes to making game-day decisions, and we will play old-school in your face take no prisoners Raiders football. Our Corners will press, Our receivers will get open down field, and the crowd will embrace a front seven that has its sights set on making plays behind the line of scrimmage. Thank you for your support." Overview: Commitment To Excellen is the first off-line franchise I will document. I prefer Madden 12's franchise mode over 13 so I will be using Madden 12 with the imported 13 roster. I took the liberty of updating the roster for week one which required adding, and dropping many lower level players. I aslo added RB Louis Rankin(69ovr), RB Jeff Demps(72ovr), QB Darron Thomas(64ovr), WR Terrell Owens(84ovr), CB Justin Miller(67ovr), and SS Aaron Rouse(70ovr) to Free Agency. Thomas was a college star at Oregon, Demps at Florida Rouse was the MVP of the UFL 2011 championship game, Rankin caught my eye in 08 so I keep his Madden ratings on hand same goes for Justin Miller. We all know about Owens. I'm currenty creating a couple possibly a few legendary players that will come out of retirement after years 1, and 2 of the franchise. Most notably Kurt Warner due to his apperance in Madden 13. Settings: All-Madden 11 min quarters Stay tuned for Pre-Season Updates. Last edited by Plunkett; 09-24-2012 at 06:03 AM. |

Re: Commitment To Excellence - The Oakland Raiders M12 Franchise
Contenders in Denver Peyton Manning will look to become the second quarterback in Denver Bronco History to hoist the Lombardi trophy. Patriots get thier guy, Plunkett loses first bidding war Jeff Demps Declined to sign with Raiders, Instead signing with the Patriots for an undisclosed contract estimated to be a 2 year incentive laced deal. Bill Belichick made this statement to the media, "We've got a kid who won it all in college, took his speed to an olympic stage and did well. Were happy. I think hes the most talented undrafted kid we've seen in awhile." While Demps simply said, "Im happy to be playing alongside the masters of the game." "No Place Like Home" Terrell Owens, and Chad Johnson are likely to sit out the upcoming season which could spell an end to two of the more interesting careers the NFL has seen. Neither player captured a Super Bowl Championship despite being one of the more feared recievers in the game. Its begs to us to ask the question will Randy Moss get a ring before its all said, and done. Last edited by Plunkett; 09-12-2012 at 09:54 AM. |

Re: Commitment To Excellence - The Oakland Raiders M12 Franchise
Year 1 Pre-Season Recap The Raiders finished their first pre-season under General Manager Jim Plunkett at 1-3. The team was shutout against Dallas in the pre-season opener, and only scored a field goal in their finale against the Seahawks. If the Raiders want to defeat Denver it will take a much better effort from the offense. Peyton Manning looked sharp against a tough 49er defense, and will look to take advantage of a Raider cornerback group that has no returning players from last season. Ron Bartell, Shawnte Spencer, Pat Lee, Joselio Hanson, Phillip Adams, and Coye Francies will look to anchor this group. Despite the lack of depth at corner the Raiders waived two of last year's draft picks CB Demarcus Van ****, a 3rd round selection, and CB Chimdi Checkwa a 4th round selection. Van **** has caught on with the Steelers, while Checkwa awaits another opportunity with the Silver&Black. Checkwa signed on to the Raiders Practice Squad after he was released. He is the only Raider corner to record a interception during the pre-season. Lets take a look at the Raiders Pre-Season statistics, and their week 1 depth chart.

WLB Aaron Curry - Placed on PUP list will miss at least the first six weeks of the season. CB Ron Bartell - After suffering a shoulder injury Bartell could miss significant time. Sources close to the Raiders organization say Bartell will likely miss the season. Bartell's recent run of injuries could put his career in jeopardy a tough break for a veteran CB that was on top of Oakland's depth chart after training camp. Re: Commitment To Excellence - The Oakland Raiders M12 Franchise
Carson Palmer discusses his Pre-Season struggles, and his upcoming game against Peyton Manning, and the Broncos on ESPN's Monday Night Football. Mike Greenberg: Carson thanks for joining us, obviously its been another tumultuous off-season in Oakland with the passing of Al Davis, and the hire of Raider legend Jim Plunkett, along with Dennis Allen. Were caught off gaurd by the changes? I know you were close to Hue Jackson you two spent sometime together at USC during your college days. Carson Palmer: I think its a shock for some of the younger guys who haven't been around the business side of the game, but for me it was almost expected. I think Mark Davis wanted to put his stamp on the franchise, and at the sametime restore that old Raider mystique by hiring Jim, and of course allowing Jim to name a head coach that he picked was a big part of why we went with Mr. Plunkett in the first place. Mike Golic: You mention Jim Plunkett your new general manager, did it strike you *** odd that Mark Davis hired someone who had been calling pre-season games over the past few years. I know some sports writers had a good time with that. Also is there any added pressure playing for a guy that wont a couple of Super Bowl rings playing the position you currently occupy on the team you play for. Carson Palmer: First off were happy to get Jim out of the booth I don't think hes got the voice for color commentator so that might not be a bad thing(laughter) but all joking aside Jim is a great mentor, and friend I know hes going to give us the best chance to win on Sunday. Mike Greenberg: Now we all know about your pre-season struggles you posted a QB rating in the 50's the first team failed to reach the endzone. Dallas shut you out, Seattle held you to a field goal. Whats been the hold-up offensivly? Carson Palmer: I have to take the blame, I could give you the old line I'm picking up a new offense but it really just comes down to playing good football. I didn't do that. Terrelle Pryor is picking up a new system, he still made plays. I have to find away to get my guys in position to win downs, and keep the momentum going when we have the ball. Mike Greenberg: Were just a few days away from gameday or gamenight I guess I should say in the Raiders, and Broncos case. Whats the key to beating a Peyton Manning led offense. Carson Palmer: Not getting caught up in the hype. Its one of the best rivalries in the sport for a reason, it would be with or without me with or without Peyton. Its a opportunity for this club to prove were capable of competing with the better offenses around the league. The key would have to be handing the ball to number 20 though. Mike Golic: You mention number 20 we all know what he brings to the table, what about number 12 Jacoby Ford. How is the offense different now that hes not in it. Mike Greenberg: For those of you who don't know despite positing I shouldn't say pedestrian stats but certainly didn't get the touches you would expect from someone with his hype around the fan base. Jacoby Ford is outstanding he makes impact plays almost everytime he touches the ball rather it be on offense or special teams. Carson Palmer: You said it Greeny, Jacoby can really stretch the defense and he has a nack for making catches other guys can't hes dynamic in the return game as well, we'll miss him, and we can't wait to get him back hes a guy you can't replace thats for sure. ESPN cuts to Jacoby Ford highlights: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHTaE...eature=related Mike Golic: Jacoby Ford is expected miss the season after having foot surgery which is a shame. Carson we know your pressed for time, thanks for joining us but before you go can you give us a predicition. Mike Greenberg: Golic says it wont even be close he picked Denver 31 to 10 on yesterday's show. Mike Golic: Thanks for throwing me under the buss Greeny, I didn't hear you pick the Raiders. Mike Greenberg: I didn't say they'd lose 31 to 10 either. Carson Palmer: I'm not big on predictions, I know our defense will show up so I'll say 24-17 Raiders. Mike Greenberg: Thats Carson Palmer. Stay tuned for more Mike and Mike In The Morning! Mike Golic: ESPN RADIO. ESPN TICKER: Raiders release CB Brandian Ross. Patriots Release DT Myron Pryor. Packers release LB's Terrell Manning, and Jamari Lattimore promote OL Andrew Datko from practice squad to 53 man roster, Cowboys release CB Mario Butler, Jets release OLB Bryan Thomas Giants Release DE Adrian Tracey.
