We've Had Enough - Saving the Bills (Madden 13)

Ok, so now that EA has released the newest patch I have bought the game and will be running a Buffalo Bills franchise. I will use my own rosters, some players like CJ Spiller will be better, while others such as Ryan Fitzpatrick will take a hit skill wise. I will detail all of that in a later post.

House Rules
- Will not change defenders after the ball is snapped
- One trade allowed in-season every 3 years
- Two trades allowed every off-season, though only 1 of those trades can involve a player(s)
- Due to the Bills not using Tarvaris Jackson so far this season due to the difficulty of learning an offense mid-season, I will not be allowed to use him in 2012 unless Ryan Fitzpatrick and Tyler Thigpen are both injured.

Settings
Quarter Length - 13 Minutes Quarters
Accelerated Clock - 16 Seconds
Skill Level - All Madden
Sliders - Playmakers Set
Game Speed - Slow
Player Progression - End Of Season
Coach Firing - On

Please do not post until I am done setting everything up, thanks.

Chan Gailey Relieved of Duties

In a surprise move today, the Buffalo Bills have announced the firing of Head Coach Chan Gailey just prior to the 2012 season. The team has already found his replacement, naming Syracuse football coach Kevin Mettler his replacement. Bills CEO Russ Brandon issued a statement on the news:

"The NFL is always about finding the next big thing before everyone else. We believe with our new coach, that the Bills will be trendsetters for the league instead of following in other teams footsteps."

Coach Mettler also released a statement:

"What an honor it is to be able to lead the team closest to my heart to a Super Bowl. I will use the experience learned from my time at Syracuse to put together a hard-nosed, winning environment in Buffalo. Due to the timing of the hire, we will be using the current offensive system, and I will install my own packages over the offseason next year. Just because there is turnover doesn't mean we don't want to win now. I can't wait to get started, see you all on gameday."

ESPN wasn't so optimistic towards the move, however:

Steve Young - "You have to wonder what Ralph Wilson is doing up there to his Bills. The team looked like it was ready to take a big step and make the playoffs this year, and now they fire Chan Gailey just a month before the season? Baffling."

Mike Ditka - "Hey Ralph! I was available, why not hire me! The Bills want to be trendsetters? For what? Maybe they're trying to create a trend of blowing up the team so everyone will do it.."

Tom Jackson - "I don't know what to say, really. This isn't a move that should be made in late July, just as teams are setting up at training camp. I really have to question Ralph Wilsons motives here."

Skip Bayless - "I love this move. It's brilliant. It gives the Jets and their glorious quarterback Tim Tebow the opportunity to get 2 free wins every season.

Chris Berman - "SO YOU'RE ALL AGAINST THE BILLS? Well, let me remind you that NOBODY CIRCLES THE WAGONS LIKE THE BUFFALO BILLS! This kid knows how to coach, he turned the Orange around in a couple years. It will be interesting to see if he can translate that success to the NFL.
