Re: The Sanch-ise, a Jets CCM

So everyone knows, I wasn't liking the way my sliders were playing, especially in my passing defense because it was faaaaaaaar too good. Thus, I've played through a few years (I'm like four games in my third season.)

My sliders are finally where I like them and I have some stories that I just can't keep to myself. It has been quite the interesting season and I will start to update this thread to update you all.

2013 Jet's Draft

NFL Draft - Round 1 Recap

7-10Brandon DupreeOregon StateCB5'11"210

Rookies who made the team:

Kody Arias, QB: While he was viewed as the second best quarterback in the draft, the Jets drafted him as if he was first. No scouts will dispute that he has, by far, the best tangibles of the quarterbacks in this draft class. He is built like Ben Roethlisburger, just without quite the mobility. Kody can make every throw as well as be prescise on the run. He has had some problems with consistancy and he does trust his arm a little too much. However, if he can reign in those problems he could easily be the best quarterback out of this draft class. A great pick here for the Jets as he will be their future.

87 OVR, 61 SPD, 63 STR, 84 AWR, 97 THP, 85 SAC, 83 MAC, 77 DAC, 87 RUN, 86 PAC, SUPERSTAR

Rudy Outlaw, LE: They say that you should draft by best available on the board, and that's exactly what the Jets did here. The Jets actually traded up to acquire his services. Outlaw's versatility is what got him picked so high, but this versatility comes at a cost. Many GMs are concerned with his ability to dominate at one position, rather than be servicable at many. The Jets, however, did not have that concern. He is a 6'6", 317 pound player who has the speed of a linebacker and the strength of a defensive tackle. If he doesn't get the chance to start over stud defensive ends Quinton Coples and Muhammad Wilkerson, then he will be the swiss army knife of the defense, disrupting the opposing offense from all over the field. At least, that's what the Jets hope will happen.

81 OVR, 80 SPD, 90 STR, 81 AGI, 80 ACC, 80 AWR, 77 JMP, 75 TAK, 89 POW, 85 PMV, 60 FMV, 75 BSH, 71 PUR, 69 MC, 67 ZCV, NORMAL

Devin Williams, TE: You could see the writing on the wall that the Jets were going to draft a tight end after giving Keller his walking papers. Devin Williams fits the Jets scheme much better since he is bigger, stronger and much better of a blocker than Keller. He is not the same as a receiver though, but it is something he could develop. Until then, expect him to be used more as a blocker than a receiver in his first year.

73 OVR, 84 SPD, 84 STR, 72 AGI, 86 ACC, 58 AWR, 71 TRK, 79 CTH, 60 RTE, 71 CIT, 55 SPC, 80 BPR, 88 JMP, NORMAL

Karmah Simmons, DT: Another huge hole may have just been filled for the Jets. Karmah was the ultimate workout warrior at the combine, and we were surprised he didn't go higher in the draft. He may have ran one of the fastest 40s for a DT ever. It's amazing to see him keep up with linebackers on the field. Other parts of his game aren't quite refined, but again, much like Kody Arias and Rudy Outlaw, they have the tools to succeed, they just need to put it together.

81 OVR, 80 SPD, 91 STR, 60 AGI, 88 ACC, 79 AWR, 80 JMP, 85 TAK, 65 POW, 80 PMV, 50 FMV, 80 BSH, 80 PUR, 80 PRC, SUPERSTAR

DeAndre Wright, HB: After missing on the running back they wanted with this pick in Cam Sweet, they got the consolation prize of DeAndre Wright. Coming out of the run heavy Georgia Tech offense, many wondered if his success in college was due to the offense they ran. However, he passes the eye ball test. He has average speed, above average strength and great ball handling. He looks like a typical bell cow in the NFL if he gets the chance to do so. It will be interesting to see if he floats to the top of the crowded Jets backfield.

81 OVR, 88 SPD, 78 STR, 81 AGI, 94 ACC, 86 AWR, 82 TRK, 65 ELU, 90 SFA, 85 JKM, 94 CAR, 58 CTH, 59 JMP, SUPERSTAR

Josh Rock, ROLB: This could be one of the biggest steals of the draft. Josh Rock has great size and tangables. He gets to the ball carrier quick and his one vicious hitter. The only problem he may have in the Jets' scheme is that they like their linebackers to cover and at times he does look lost in coverage. If he works on his coverage skills, he could be an elite linebacker in this league. However, even if those skills don't develop, he will still be a great run stopper which is a great consolation prize.

78 OVR, 82 SPD, 82 STR, 81 AGI, 88 ACC, 80 AWR, 38 CTH, 90 JMP, 92 POW, 65 PMV, 85 FMV, 92 BSH, 73 PUR, 70 PRC, 62 ZCV, QUICK

Rest coming soon.
