QB Jaleen Awini to transfer to Buffs
Ex-AFA Falcon to help with young Quarterback group



Former Air Force quarterback Jaleel Awini said Tuesday he will transfer to the University of Colorado, and enroll in classes immediately.

“I’m excited,” Awini told the Daily Camera. “If I gotta go, I’m going to go and take care of business the way I know how and try to bring a championship to CU.”

The Rangeview (Aurora,Colorado) High School grad had taken over as the Falcons' starting QB in 2013 after Kale Pearson hurt a knee in the opener. They won that game, against Colgate, but lost three straight after. Then Awini was kicked off the Falcon football team, and out of the Academy. There was no indication of what got Awini in trouble.He will compete with quarterbacks Sefo Luifau, Jordan Gehrke, and Cade Apsay. He will also have only two years of eligibility remaining.

Buffs Signing Day Coverage

BOULDER—The University of Colorado and head coach Mike Macintyre announced plans for Wednesday’s signing day coverage, the first opportunity for high school seniors to sign national letters of intent.


The Buffaloes plan to announce each signee as they are cleared by the CU compliance office. Be sure to follow CU’s official twitter account @cubuffs and MacIntyre’s official twitter @coachmm for the most up-to-date and only source of official information throughout the day. A signing day central page will exist on CUBuffs.com and be mirrored on the Colorado Football facebook fan page, located at facebook.com/CUFootball.


Highlight videos of signees and biographical information will be presented as it becomes available on CUBuffs.com and through the Buffs social mediums.


At 2:30 p.m., MacIntyre will host a press conference, streamed live on BuffsTV at CUBuffs.com, with the CU’s football signing day press conference.
