Jones Accepts Position at Buffalo University
Ross Jones has become the newest offensive coordinator for the Spartans

SAN JOSE (CA) - After another disappointing season at the University of Buffalo, change is in the air on the offensive side of the ball. Head Coach Jeff Quinn is potentially on his last leg as the leaders of the Bulls and he looks to Ross Jones to ignite his offense.

Jones, 28, comes to Buffalo as an unknown commodity with experience mainly on the high school level in Tennessee and finished last season at Wisconsin as a graduate assistant.

"I wanted to thank everyone here in New York for the hospitality," Jones said. "It was been a whirlwind couple of days and everyone that my family has encountered here has been great. I look forward to the challenge and working with the kids to become the best football players and young men that they can be."

Jones caught the eye of Quinn at a coaches convention in Louisville and he was intrigued by his offensive philosophy. With a multiple-look playbook in tow the Bulls should be ready for the upcoming season.

"I want to bring a balanced attack to the table," Jones said. "If you think about Wisconsin under Russell Wilson, that is the type of offense I want to bring to the table. Not only did that team have an efficient quarterback that could pass and run, but they also had a record setting running attack led by Montee Ball and James White. It is great to be able to pass the ball well and efficiently, but I want to be able to establish the run and punish defenses in the 4th quarter. That is how you close out games down the stretch."

Fall camp is just around the corner and coach Jones will need to get to work with his new group of players in order to get on the same page.

The Bulls open the season in just a few short weeks and Jones will need to get on the recruiting trail as well.

Some interesting prospects out there, I don't think that Buffalo has a shot at any of them, lol, but should be interesting to see where they head.
