Re: A New England Patriots CFM M15
WEEK 13
PATRIOTS HOLD OFF PACKERS IN BRADY'S RETURN Despite Brady's rough day, the Patriots came out on top. Brady is back, and thankfully so. All though Garoppolo did well during the absence of the Patriots main signal caller, everyone in New England was glad to hear the news that Brady was now fully healed from his broken collerbone and would be starting against the Packers week 13 on Thanksgiving. With Brady having missed a good portion of this season he was understandably rusty. On the Patriots first possession, their offense could not get started which resulted in a quick punt. On the Packers first possession they could not get much started either but Aaron Rodgers kept finding running lanes on 3rd down as he marched the Packers down the field primarily with his legs. He appeared to be getting a bit too comfortable with his scrambles though as he began to take big hits, one of these big hits caused a fumble in which Patriots saftey Harmon recovered. Bolden who was still starting for the injured Vereen would have a big game as he rushed for 95 yards on 14 carries, he also had two touchdowns. Bolden would score one of those touchdowns in the first quarter to put the Patriots on the board first. The Packers would get three of their own in the first quarter as well and thats how that quarter would end. End of 1st Patriots-7 Packers-3 In the second quarter Bolden would score his second TD of the game as he took the hand off from Brady towards the left side of the line. He ran through his blocks and forty yards down the field for the touchdown with out having to break a single tackle. The Packers would be completely shut out this quarter and would look even worse as Rodgers was picked off twice, but both of the ensuing possessions would only result in a field goal by Gostkowski as the Patriots took the big lead into halftime. Half Time Patriots-20 Packers-3 In the second half the Packers would put forth their best effort as they tried to muster a comeback. They did get very close but never held the lead. They did score their last touchdown with just a little over a minute to go as Brady threw an ill advised pass which was intercepted and returned for the td. The patriots would be much more conservative on their final drive as they ran out the clock to seal the close victory that shouldn't have been so close. Re: A New England Patriots CFM M15
WEEK 14
PATRIOTS RUN OVER CHARGERS 28-9 FB James Develin plows over Weddle on his way to his second touchdown of the game Its very close to the end of the regular season and the Patriots find them selves in a unfamiliar position. The top of the division is occupied by the Buffalo Bills, not the New England Patriots. Although it is just one game, the Bills do hold the tie breaker so far as they beat the Patriots in their first matchup, if things stay on track that week 17 matchup could be a win or go home type of game. For the Patriots to have a chance at a win or go home game in week 17 they more then likely have to win their last few games before that game and that has to start in this weeks matchup as they play the San Diego Chargers who have a very impressive record of nine wins and three losses coming into tonights mathup. The Patriots would come out on fire as Brady competed all four passes on their first drive. He also ran for four yards while Vereen ran for twelve on just one rush and full back Develin rushes it in from two yards out to give the Patriots the early lead. The Chargers first drive appeared to being just as well as they quickly marched down the field and onto the Patriots side of the field, but they the drive would stall at the New England forty-four yard line and they would be forced to punt. Brady continues his excellence leading the Pats to another seemingly easy touchdown as Vereen also runs it in from two yards out. At this point Brady is 7-7 through the air and the Patriots lead fourteen to zero. The Chargers struggles would continue their next drive as Logan Ryan intercepted Rivers for his fifth interception of the season as Rivers tried to throw to the left side of the field. That turnover would not turn into points though. On the very next play Brady became perhaps a little too confident as he challeged Weddle deep down the field, Weddle won and intercepted the pass. The Chargers next drive would carry the teams into the second quarter. END OF FIRST Patriots-14 Chargers-3 The Chargers would again fail to put any points on the board and would eventually have to punt the ball to the Patriots. The Patriots got back to balanced football as Brady and company marched down the field, eventually capping it off with Develin's second touchdown of the day. The Chargers would get on the board at the very end of the first half has Nick Novak made a 47 yd FG. END OF HALF Patriots-21 Chargers-3 The second half was much of the same, the Chargers added two more field goals and Brady hit Gronkowski for a TD giving the Patriots their second win a row against a solid team.
