Running back controversy in St. Louis?

Zac Stacy was only able to muster up a measly 33 yards on 17 carries; averaging 1.9 yards per carry. With the lead late in the third quarter, coach Jeff Fisher decided to let Stacy rest up the rest of the night and let rookie Tre Mason get some reps. Mason, on only 8 carries, put up 88 yards and a touchdown. It's unknown yet who will be starting at running back next week for the Rams.

Both Bradford and Bridgewater had near perfect games through the air, and the Rams had trouble stopping Peterson. Whereas the Vikings were matching the Rams yard-for-yard, Vikings failed to capitalize and score in the redzone.

Rams win their first game at home, 37-20, but Rams still have a lot to work on heading into week two.

Week 1 Storylines

Blake Bortles leads Jaguars to victory in Philly
In his rookie debut, Bortles helps his team get a win against the Philadelphia Eagles. It wasn't a pretty win offensively, but Bortles had a solid game with 188 yards, no touchdowns and no picks; Jaguars recorded five sacks on Nick Foles, and the former Cowboy, Danny McCray, picked him off once.

Patriots dominate Dolphins, 52-6
Tom Brady had an iconic day in Miami, passing for 369 yards with three touchdowns (and a rushing touchdown!) for a QB rating of 142.1. Vereen also had a nice day on the ground, getting 79 yards and a touchdown. Dolphins struggled on both sides of the ball, as they got absolutely blown out at home in Miami.

Johnny Football gets the start: shut-out against Steelers

In his NFL debut, Johnny Football completed 19 of 31 passes for a measly 100 yards, whilst taking four sacks, against division rivals Steelers. The Browns could only get 137 yards of total offense against the Steelers defense; Jason Worilds got 3 sacks in on Manziel to help the Steelers win 22-0.

Megatron out of action
Fantasy owners everywhere are in distraught, as Megatron will have to miss the next three weeks with a broken thumb. Golden Tate and Eric Ebron should both see a huge increase in work-load in the Lions' pass-heavy offense.

Re: Guts. Glory. Rams.

Nice win. Great day by Mason.

I like your setup... would you mind if I implemented the 'week 1 storyline' etc into mine?

Btw, definitely following. Nice and smooth, and will be interesting to see if you stick with Bradford(I hate his guts lol)

Tre Mason shines in his first start!

Early Sunday morning, Tre Mason got the nod to start Sunday against the Buccaneers. Zac Stacy was originally supposed to share the workload with Mason, but it was Mason's workload that carried the Rams to a win on Sunday. Mason went on to get NFC Offensive Player of the Week awards after he ran for 158 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Alterraun Verner got Bradford's first interception of the season; Bradford would throw two picks throughout the night, one of which almost got ran back for a touchdown.

The Rams' secondary seemed to have shown signs of improvement out there, however, Glennon didn't have much of an issue picking the secondary apart. Glennon completed 17 passes in a row, not throwing his first incompletion until the second half.

Tavon Austin continues to be a huge game-changer for the Rams -- he's continuously getting the offense to great field position off of kick and punt returns. Two weeks in a row, Austin should have had a kick return for a touchdown, but he was just tackled short of the endzone both times.

Week 2 Storylines

Bengals win despite Dalton's absence
Andy Dalton was ejected from their home game against the Falcons on Sunday, which would later be because of a broken thumb. Jason Campbell played in his place, in which he had an awful outing, going 5-for-9 with 55 yards and two interceptions. With Dalton expected to miss the next three weeks, it'll be interesting to see if the Bengals stick with Campbell or give rookie A.J. McCarron some playing time.

Gore/Hyde help tame the Bears

The 49ers' killer defense had no problem keeping Jay Cutler in place on Sunday; the 49ers' D recorded 5 sacks on the day, and two picks. On top of that, the 49ers rushed the ball 43 times between Frank Gore and Carlos Hyde, for a combined 154 yards, each back had a pair of touchdowns on the day to help give the 49ers a crushing 44-6 win at home over the Bears.

Hoyer takes the helm in Cleveland; almost leads comeback against Saints

Johnny Football took a devastating hit from Parys Haralson on Sunday, one that Manziel wouldn't be able to get back up from under his own strength. The rookie was helped off the field and into the locker room, later diagnose with a broken collarbone. With Manziel out, Hoyer came into play, and almost lead the Browns to a comeback at home against the Saints, but was held short.

Bradford benched in the fourth quarter, Davis leads a comeback!

For the first three quarters, the Rams struggled offensively and defensively against the Cowboys. Not only were they not able to stop Tony Romo or DeMarco Murray, but the Rams failed to get anything going through the air or on the ground. Sean Lee and Anthony Spencer had a field day on Tre Mason and Zac Stacy; tackling them in the backfield on numerous occasions.

In the third quarter, Bradford through his third interception of the day, giving the Cowboys great field position in a game where they were already down 17-9. Rams were able to hold the Cowboys to a Dan Bailey field goal, and in an impulse decision, Jeff Fisher decides to sit Bradford and put in Austin Davis.

Austin Davis, in just one quarter, ended with a 158.3 QB rating, a perfect 11 completions on 11 attempts, for 153 yards and 2 touchdowns. Austin's presence seemed to have given new life to the Rams on both sides of the ball, as the Rams were able to make two crucial interceptions to help get Davis the ball back.

An interception by E.J. Gaines with just over a minute remaining should have ended the game, but the Rams couldn't pick up the first down by running, and the Cowboys used all three time-outs to ensure they got the ball back. After getting sacked by Chris Long, Romo was unable to convert on a 3rd and 17, thus ending the game.

Week 3 Storylines

Superbowl Rematch: Seahawks squeeze by Broncos
The defending Superbowl champions remain undefeated after just barely beating Peyton Manning and the Broncos, 24-21. The Seahawks seemed to struggle defensively -- they gave up two rushing touchdowns to Montee Ball, meanwhile they couldn't pick off or sack Peyton Manning even once.

Marshall, Jeffery find success on Monday night
Going to New York to play against the Jets isn't the easiest of tasks, but Jay Cutler and his offense found a way to do it. Marshall and Jeffery both had a touchdown, and both had over 120 yards receiving in the Bears' win on Monday night at the Jets.

Browns turn to Pryor
Despite losing to the Ravens 29-10, the Browns suffered a much bigger loss, as they will now be without Brian Hoyer for a few weeks. Late in the game, Hoyer took a nasty hit which resulted in a broken jaw. Now, with Manziel and Hoyer both sidelined with injuries, the Browns have to turn to Terrelle Pryor next week.

Breaking news: Bradford traded to Jets!

After missing practice all week, Jeff Fisher announced on Friday that Bradford was going to be traded. A few hours later, it was announced that Sam Bradford would be heading to play for the New York Jets -- in return for Bradford, the Rams received a 2nd round pick in the 2016 NFL draft.

"I'll be forever grateful to the fans, Jeff Fisher, and everything that St. Louis has done for me. I'm going to continue to push myself and better myself every day, and do everything possible to help my new team." said Bradford, in a phone interview with NFL's Mike Rappaport.

In other news, Rams announce the signing of veteran corner back, Jabari Greer. Greer was signed to a 1 year deal worth $2.60 million.

Tre Mason, Rams defense make a stand in Philly

Trailing by the second half, Tre Mason made a huge impact, along with all of the Rams' defense, to come together and make a nice comeback against the strong Philly offense. The Rams managed to shut out Nick Foles and LeSean McCoy completely in the second half, not letting them score a single point.

After Mason's huge day on Sunday, he now leads the league in rushing. Although it's not a huge lead -- Tre Mason has a two yard advantage over Jamaal Charles, Tre does lead the league in yards per carry, and is also tied with DeMarco Murray for most rushing TD's.
