Surprised you've put up a 5-0 start to the year. Good work. Got any tough games coming up?

So am I, and honestly a little disappointed. I was expecting South Alabama to beat me handily with them being 14 points overall higher than my team (61 to 75). ODU should give me some fits, as well as Idaho. The FCS teams that I've played have all been rated higher overall than me also. My defense has really been playing stellar all year, and Nolan had been pacing the ground game pretty well. Both of my quarterbacks have struggled with their accuracy and now with Nolan out for 10 weeks I expect to struggle a lot on offense. Crowder is only 1 overall lower than Nolan, but he doesn't have the break away speed or the ability to break tackles as well.

I think I'm going to change my plan and not schedule any FCS teams for next season.

Playoff Rumors Circling

Spokespersons for several conferences met today with representatives from the NCAA. The agenda included such things as rule changes, moving the kickoff up, and moving to a playoff system of sorts. A source from inside the very secretive meeting confirmed that the committee had talked about moving to a 4 team, 8 team, and possibly even 32 team playoff system.

What would this mean for the BCS? How would they decide which teams received a playoff bid? This could change the very landscape of the NCAA, it'll be interesting to see what happens in the coming days.

UNC-Pembroke Braves at UNC-Charlotte 49ers

The first quarter started slowly, with neither team picking up a first down on their respective first drives. Charlotte would move the ball across the 50 on their second drive, but would stall out just past midfield and have to punt. The 49ers finally got going late in the first quarter and scored the first points of the game on a 1yd plunge by Crowder. The Braves would answer on their next drive with an 11yd catch and run to tie the game at 7 apiece.

Special Teamer Raul Robbins lays the wood on the Braves kick returner

UNC-Pembroke would take the lead midway through the second quarter on a 24yd field goal. Charlotte however would retake the lead right before halftime as Crowder scored his second touchdown of the day on a 4yd rumble to give his team a 14-10 lead at the half.

The Braves would score on their first possession of the second half on a 9yd pass, their kicker would miss the PAT and the score would be 16-14 Braves. The 49ers would score shortly after on a 1yd pass from Clayton Eaton to back up tight end Reggie Rice. With the Brewer PAT Charlotte would lead 21-16.

Reggie Rice's 1yd touchdown catch

UNC-Pembroke would tack on another field goal midway through the fourth to make it a two point game, 21-19. Charlotte would get the ball back with just under 4 minutes to play. After a long catch and run by Sonny Huff the 49ers would setup inside the Braves 10yd line with just over three minutes to play. They couldn’t punch it in though and would have to settle for a Brewer 19yd field goal from the two yard line. UNC-Pembroke would prove to be too much for the 49er defense as they quickly moved the ball down field and scored on a 30yd pass. They would attempt the two point conversion, but the pass would fall incomplete. Charlotte would get the ball back with :50seconds to play and two timeouts. Eaton would move his team quickly down field, but time would run low and he would have to hand the fate of the game over to kicker Blake Brewer. The pressure would prove to be too much for the freshman kicker as he shanked the 42yd field goal just left of the upright.

The 49ers lose in heartbreak fashion at home. Their record drops to 5-1 on the season. Return specialist Quinn Frazier injured his shoulder in the loss, and will miss the next two weeks.

Re: UNC at Charlotte: Building From the Ground Up

Hey man loving the dynasty keep it up! Any thought on going into Teambuilder and creating some of the other teams you'll be up against? Just an idea! Anyway, good work!
