Re: The Victors Reborn - A Michigan Wolverines Dynasty (NCAA 14)

Congratulations on a very successful first year and bowl victory! I finally got all caught up on this thread. Your presentation and style are really coming along together and looking really good! If you ever need any help with some of my html codes like the matchup preview, always feel free to let me know, it all looks spectacular though. Like Matt was saying earlier in the threads, I really liked the gifs used as highlights.

Amazed to see Bowling Green snag TCU's championship winning head coach. Good luck during the offseason!

Re: The Victors Reborn - A Michigan Wolverines Dynasty (NCAA 14)

Players Leaving: How will Michigan cope with big losses?

Ann Arbor, MI - Along with players leaving early for the NFL Draft, Michigan has to cope with some big losses. Devin Gardner graduated and latched on to New England's practice squad; Jake Ryan and Frank Clark got drafted in the first round by the Packers and Seahawks, respectively; The losses of early entries James Ross (7th round, Patriots), Joe Kerridge (7th, Jets), Blake Countess (7th, Raiders) and Joe Bolden (7th, Jaguars) mean that while we wish them luck playing in the NFL, that leaves Michigan missing a ton of depth heading into next year. Their linebackers will be handed early playing time, someone needs to step up at the fullback spot, and the secondary will be missing last year's team interceptions leader.

While big-time star Devin Funchess spurned a potential 1st-round drafting to return for his senior year, the losses of THREE (!) quarterbacks leave Michigan to rely on true freshmen to succeed.

Shane Morris, the golden boy of the 2013 recruiting class, has decided to transfer to Western Michigan to continue his playing career. With Western Michigan without a clear-cut starter, Morris can step in and contribute.

"I decided to transfer due to two reasons: One, Coach Landry's system is not for me. I thrive in playing for a pro-style offense, and he has taken the other direction. Two, I was promised playing time. I didn't get enough opportunities to show what I can do. Give me those two next year and I'll stay."

Chances he'll stay? Next to none. Coach Landry's philosophy is that if you don't want to be here, see you later.

Another crushing blow is the transfer of Wilton Speight. Even though he redshirted this year, he is enrolling at Marshall next year to play for Dino Babers.

This is another case of playing time issues. Coach Landry saw no reason to burn his redshirt, and Speight wasn't very jaw-dropping in practice, either.

"He thought he could contribute this season," said Coach Landry. "I didn't think he was ready. Simple as that. Nothing else."

Chances he'll stay? None. Neither a system fit or game-changing talent, Wilton can thrive elsewhere.

The most expected transfer is also the most experienced: Russell Bellomy. Infamous for his absolute dud of a game against Nebraska in 2012, Bellomy didn't register a single stat in 2014.

That, in itself, is a reason to transfer. He is transferring to UTSA to play close to his home in Texas.

Chances he'll stay? No need to explain.

How will they cope?

Without any experience on the roster, Michigan will have to make due with true freshmen starting at quarterback. At this point, the perceived starter is Eddie Scott, the Texas dual-threat, over the five-star Jeff Lemon. Scott clearly holds the advantage in the athleticism department, making him perfect for Darien Landry's pro-spread system. While Lemon is the better passer, he has enough athleticism to compete at a number of different positions.

National Signing Day is coming up as well, and Michigan is in the lead for PA 5-star athlete Jeremy Tucker. With Maryland slowing down in his recruitment, Michigan has a chance to land 3 quarterbacks in the monster Michigan Class of 2015.

Other Departures (will cut these guys to reflect real life):

G Kyle Bosch
DT Ondre Pipkins
RB Justice Hayes
DE Keith Heitzman

Just read through this. Congrats on a 10 win season in your first year! I am a little confused as to how exactly moving to Marshall from Bowling Green is a better job for Babers but maybe that's just me.

Thanks man! I've found a style that works best for me. As for Bowling Green, I'll be on the lookout. Maybe this year is the year for them?

Thanks bro. I honestly don't know why it said Babers found a better job. Maybe Conference-USA is a lot better than the MAC.

Signing Day Special: Michigan Snags Seven, Rounds out 25-Man Class of 2015

Ann Arbor, Michigan - On February 4's National Signing Day, recruits across the nation picked their teams in a number of different ways. Some choose a hat; Others deck themself out in gear.

For Michigan, National Signing Day was very fortunate to them, as seven recruits announced their committment to the Wolverines and the rest sent in their Letters of Intent.

- Five-star athlete Jeremy Tucker (Philadelphia, PA)
- Four-star wide receiver Clint Burton (Mercerville, NJ)
- Four-star safety Carl Henry (East Detroit, MI)
- Three-star center Brian Doyle (Austintown, OH)
- Three-star guard Andrew Jolly (Potomac, MD)
- Three-star athlete Jamie Sykes (Groveton, VA)
- Two-star linebacker Fred Jackson (Lakewood, NJ)

Missing in this list is three-star cornerback Manuel Kemp, who flipped his committment from Michigan to Indiana.

Below is the official list of Michigan's monster class, ranking at #2 in the country.

Re: The Victors Reborn - A Michigan Wolverines Dynasty (NCAA 14)

Spring Training Report: Position Changes, Training Results, Name Changes, and Whatnot

Ann Arbor, Michigan - It's that time of year again. After two months of Saturdays without college football, spring ball is starting for the Michigan Wolverines.

This year, they have taken on a new identity.

Although not a major change, the uniforms are merely the same as last year with a few changes. The first major change is the retiring of the Legends jerseys. These include The Wistert Brothers' #11, Desmond Howard's iconic #21, Bennie Oosterbaan's #47, Gerald Ford's #48, Ron Kramer's #47, and finally, Tom Harmon's #98.

Restoring tradition from the past, Michigan will also return to wearing white socks and wearing all-black shoes this season.

"It's clean, classic, and traditional," said Michigan head coach Darien Landry. "Going back to the basics was a no-brainer. All the Michigan greats have all worn white socks. Jim Harbaugh. Desmond Howard. Charles Woodson. Although it doesn't amount to much besides the look, we associate white socks and black shoes as a way of getting back to the identity that made us great then and now."

A snap of Jabrill Peppers in the new threads

Furthermore, there was a LOT of roster turnover happening in the offseason:

Code:
- QB Russell Bellomy transferred to UTSA
- QB Shane Morris transferred to Western Michigan
- QB Wilton Speight transferred to Marshall
- RB Justice Hayes transferred to Southern Miss
- WR/KR Dennis Norfleet dismissed (Disciplinary/Academics)
- RB Ross Taylor-Douglas no longer on Roster (Unknown)
- LG Kyle Bosch transferred to West Virginia
- C Jack Miller retired (Injury)
- WR Bo Dever retired (Injury)
- RT Logan Tuley-Tillman dismissed (Unacceptable Conduct)
- DT Ondre Pipkins transferred to Texas Tech
- CB Terry Richardson no longer on Roster (unknown)
Michigan only has one new walk-on on the roster, and that is QB Justin Cooper. Unranked coming out of high school in Santa Clara, California, he is on the roster bubble and the only time he'll play is in an emergency.

Player Changes?

Preserving some realism, I changed some of my recruits to real players that are freshmen today. They are:

- QB Jeff Lemon changed to QB Brandon Wimbush
Why? Wimbush and Lemon share similarities, both being dual-threat QBs and from New Jersey. In real life, Wimbush is a quarterback for Notre Dame. Plus, what kind of name is Jeff Lemon?

- WR Clint Burton changed to WR Juwan Johnson
Why? Another case of realism. I love NJ recruits on my roster, and a black dude named Clint isn't going to cut it. In real life, Juwan Johnson is playing wideout for Penn State. Realism is all I can say.

- WR Steven Thibodeaux changed to WR Brian Cole
Why?
Brian Cole plays for Michigan, and since I don't like the way NCAAFB names players, this is a bit of an obvious choice. Realism again takes shape.

Position Changes

Code:
- Freshman ATH Brandon Wimbush to QB
- Freshman ATH Jeremy Tucker to QB
- Freshman ATH Jamie Sykes to WR
- LE Henry Poggi to FB
- RT Ben Braden to LG
- RG Davis Dawson to LG
- LG Erik Magnuson to RT
- LT Juwann Bushell-Beatty to RG
- DT Willie Henry to LE
- LOLB Royce Jenkins-Stone to BUCK
- Freshman DE Joe Schneider to LOLB
- ROLB Ben Gedeon to MLB
- FS Jeremy Clark to CB
- SS Jarrod Wilson to FS
- CB Jabrill Peppers to SS
- FS Dymonte Thomas to SS
The biggest change here is cornerback Jabrill Peppers. Rated at 82 overall at the end of the 2014-15 season, he will be moving to strong safety, taking advantage of his physicality and athleticism. As a result, his rating jumped up to an 87.
